August Favourites

Even writing August Favourites just sounds weird, this year is just racing by.

But anyway here we go!

K's Favourites:
No 7 Face & Body Brush:
I love using this brush its soooo soft! I tend to apply my bronzer with this as i feel it allows the bronzer to be applied evenly and blends it well onto my skin. This retails at £11.00 in Boots.

No 7 Mirror:
I picked this up a couple of weeks ago with a £5 off voucher, you can see my review here. This mirror retails at £8.25 at Boots and it is such a handy travel mirror.

W7 Africa:
Again this is a recent addition and I have done a review here. This is such a great cheap bronzer/highlighter. I just love it! I have stocked up on two more from Savers for £1.99 each....BARGAIN.

Lily Lolo Blush Away:
I have mentioned this a couple of times before. I use this everyday without fail, see a review here. Its a green powder designed to hide blemish and red marks, its amazing. I apply around my nose and on any blemishes I have.

Urban Decay Naked Palette:
Again I use this palette everyday without fail. Even if I am not using all of the colours I always apply Virgin as my base colour. I have been very tempted by the MUA Heaven & Earth and the Sleek Nude Palette, but so far I haven't got them as I love my UD Naked Palette too much.

L's favourites this month:

Sleek Bad Girl Palette:

Recently re-discovered this and I'm loving the combinations for day and night. Sleek palettes are so worth it for £5.99.

Lacura Multi-Intensive Serum:

Love this purse friendly serum. I use it in the the evening before going to bed and my face just feels so soft. You can read my mums review on this along with the moisturiser here.

Witch Skin Clearing Primer:

Absolutely my favourite primer at the moment, it's brilliant. See K's review here.

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage:

I've had this concealer over 12 months now and have to admit I've hardly used it. I find it's a little difficult to blend sometimes and also get a good colour from the two shades. You can read my review in my Concealaholic post.

Bourjois Delice de Poudre:

A gorgeous chocolate bronzer, perfect for everyday use and it smells yummy.

Nivea Pure & Natural Soothing Day Cream:

I think I've found my HG in this, it's so light and refreshing. My skin is left so soft and hydrated. Full review here.

Whats been your August favourites?

May Favourites

K's Favourites:

Witch Skin Clearing Primer: This has been wonderful for my skin! I have been needing to use a primer for a while and after seeing all the great review about this I decided to give it ago. I am prone to breakouts and luckily this has helped clear and near enough stop them. I got mine from Boots for £6.99, review to come soon.

Lush Breath of Fresh Air Toner:Both myself and L love this product and it is still a favourite of mine again this month, see review here.

Soap & Glory Off Your Face Wipes: These have now become a staple I'm my facial routine, you can get them for about £4.05 from Boots and ASOS. They make taking my make-up off quick and easy! Full review to come soon.

E.L.F Blusher Flushed: I have only had this since Friday but I love it! These blushers retail for £1.50 and mine is called flushed. The packaging isn't great to open but the blusher is really pigmented, you hardly have to apply any for a great colour pay off. Full review soon.

Natural Collection in Autumn Sunset: This has become a handbag staple for me and I've only had it for about 2 weeks, you can see review here.

Lush Colour Supplement in Jackie Oats: My last favourite is from Lush and is one of there Colour Supplements. You can use these on their own or mixed with your own foundation or moisturiser. The colour is prefect for me and these retail at around £7.50. Full review to come soon.

L-R: Natural Collection in Autumn Sunset, E.L.F Blusher in Flushed and Lush Colour Supplement in Jackie Oats.

L's favourites:

I've actually had a negative month really with skincare, makeup, everything! Ok slight exaggeration. But I think that with the Wedding stress etc I just found that I wasn't really liking any of my products. On the actual day I was happy with the way my makeup turned out but it was the build up to that point. I'd been suffering from lots of breakouts, along with lots of dry skin and it just wouldn't go no matter what I used. I couldn't really find a single product I loved.

I hope other people have had better luck.

April Favourites

We can't believe it is already May, where has this year gone!!!

We are a little bit late doing our monthly favourites but here they are for you:

Here are K's favourites:

Tigi Bed Head Some Like it Hot Shampoo - I picked this up a couple of weeks ago as I was looking for a new Shampoo that was good for heat and humidity and sulfate-free. I was lucky as this matched all three but Bedhead seems to have been discontinued as Tigi are selling off most of these lines so I'll have to stock up as I also like Control Freak. I got mine for £4.99 for 250ml from Tk Maxx but you can get it here.

Lush Breath of Fresh Air Toner - L has previously reviewed this on the blog and I have to say I LOVE IT!!. Its not a bad price, lasts well as you don't need to use much, it has a nice smell and my skin enjoys using it. Check out L's review here. £6.75 for 250ml from Lush.

Soap & Glory Off Your Face Wipes - I got these in the Pink Big Tote Bag that was released in Boots on offer before Christmas. I hadn't really used them so decided to try them and I have now actually finished the packet I like them that much. They are 3 in 1 wipes for Cleansing, Toning and Smoothing, I use them in the week when I am in a rush. They so far haven't upset my skin which is a miracle! You can get them in Boots for £4.09.

Barry M Pink Flamingo - This is my new summer colour I love using it, it's bright and fun. You can see my NOTD featuring it here and I got it £2.99 from Barry M.

E.L.F Dessert Haze - This is another favourite of mine at the moment, it is the prefect work nail colour and a bargain at £1.50, see my swatch here.

Clinique Moisture Surge - I got this free with Glamour magazine, I actually went back and brought more of the magazine so I have a stash as this has been great for my skin. My break-outs and dry skin have both have cleared up recently thanks to this moisturiser. I have also just picked up the new Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser which I will do a post on shortly. £30 for 50ml.

Lily Lolo Blush Away - Both myself and L love this product, I use mine everyday in my make-up routine. Its a matte green concealer powder that helps to disguise redness, you can see L's review here.

Johnson's Baby 2 in 1 Bubble Bath & Wash - This is actually a family favourite, I really need to do a post on some of the products we like using on my little girl Livvie. My whole family has been using this as its soap free, paraben free, dye free and has a gorgeous fruity smell. This is £2.99 for 500ml from Tesco's and other retailers.

L's favourites:

Germolene - very basic favourite, but great for dealing with breakouts. I only apply in the evening or otherwise I'm left with a nice antiseptic smell!

Sudocrem - another basic, but really been working wonders this month for breakouts, dry skin and general help with my skin. I've been a bit lazy taking my makeup off at night and its really messed with my whole face, but this is slowly bringing it back to normal.

Superdrugs Conditioning Cuticle Cream - firstly this is more of a balm than a cream, but other than that I really love this stuff. Very cheap - about £1.50 and it does exactly what you want it to do.

Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation - I picked this up before Christmas and loved it, but I'd stopped using it recently. However re-discovered this a couple of weeks ago and loving it again. Just sits very well on my skin and is the perfect match in Alabaster.

Accessorize Highlighter - For £7.00 I thought I would give it a go. I only apply a little on top of my cheekbones but its been great. I haven't gone a day without it since. Will do a proper review soon.

What have you been loving this month?

Thanks

January Favourites

I cannot believe that it is already the end of the month! I cannot believe how quickly January has gone, L has now only got just over 4 months to her wedding! As it's now the end of January we also though we would show you the items that have been our favourite's of the month.

Now the first thing that both L and I have been loving is the N Spa Angel Cake Bath Melt, now this is available from Asda or Nirvana Spa and retails at roughly £6. I love this stuff, its very thick and smell sweet just like angel cake. The melt is in a great sealed jar (which looks gorgeous in the bathroom) and what I tend to do is get a handful and put my hand then under the running tap.

We both cannot put into words how much we love the N Spa range, another fave of the month for L is the N Spa Hot Butter Fudge Bath Syrup which again can be picked up from Asda or Nirvana Spa for roughly £4.50. This is another great sickly sweet smelling bath item and a firm favourite for L's household. Also currently Asda are running some roll backs on N Spa range so check them out!

Another firm favourite for me is Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, this is a staple favorite for me and I love using it! I will do a proper review soon on it, but basically this makes me eye make-up lasts sooooo long without creasing. What more can I say? Oh maybe that you can pick it up in Boots or Debenhams etc and retails at £12.

Another favourite and recent addition to my eyeliner collection is my Topshoop Eye Khol in Pewter, which is £4 from Topshop. I love love love this eyeliner and I will be off for more shortly. You can see my post here for swatches, all I can say again is it glides on like a dream, it's really pigmented and lasts great!

I have two favourite nail polishes this month firstly Models Own Grace Green, I have a post on this polish coming up soon. This is a great nail polish to ease me into spring and out of dark nail polish. My second favourite is No7 Beanie which I picked up recently with the £5 off No7 voucher. Another great shade to add to my growing nail varnish collection.

Lippie wise my favourite has been another item I have picked up with the £5 off No7 voucher, No7 Sheer Temptation in Sparkle which you can see in my post here. I love a sheer sparkly lippie and this fits the bill especially with it's peachy/tangerine shade. And as an added bonus its has the texture and feel of of a lip balm....prefect!

Another new item this month which has settled lovely into mine and L's make-up collection is Benefit Bella Bamba. This is Benefits new boxed 3D blusher and its just gorgeous. You can see our post here on the launch event we attended for Bella Bamba. Its such a gorgeous colour and I have worn everyday since I got it.

Another favourite that I have just found is Bourjois Eye make-up remover, I bought this after seeing a review on London Beauty Queen's blog. After reading her review I knew I needed to give it ago and I have to say I haven't been disappointed. It retails at roughly £4.99 and removes my eye make-up (even waterproof) in basically 1 swipe! A full review soon.

Neals Yard Orange Flower Moisturiser, it has become L's absolute skin saviour! She has returned to using this moisturiser and has fallen back in love with it. But unlike most people she doesn't actually like the smell that much but she loves the effect on her skin by using it. This retails at roughly £22.20 for 100ml.

Prime Time Primer it is the only primer that keeps L's makeup at least looking a little like its still there after her 12 hour days. This retails at at roughly £14.

Benefit Benetint helps L on her ghostly looking days to make her look like part of the human race. It is also a firm favourite of mine as is soooo easy to apply but really makes a difference to my face when I apply it. This retails at £24.50.

This month we have also been loving our eyebrows that we had done at the Benefit Event, what do you think of mine?

Oh and on a side note L has been loving her magazine subscripion she had for Christmas. Its a great pick me up when you get home and glamour magazine is waiting for you!

What have been your favourites of the month?

Thank you

November Favourites

As the two of us are doing the blog we both wanted to add out November favourites so we have both only chosen 5.

L:

So this month’s favourites for me would have to be:
Snow Fairy - how can you not love the pink glittery thing that is Snow Fairy, its smells so sweet and bubblegummy! Obviously with it only coming out for Christmas, it can't help but make you feel Christmassy!! I can honestly say that this is my fav bubble bath - got 3 backups to prove it :), have to admit I'll probably pick up a few more before Christmas as well to stock up.

17 Beehive - Love Love Love this lipstick - you can actually see my full rave about it here. This has become my go to lipstick for work as it’s nice and natural but so moisturising which is key for winter.

SoftLips in French Vanilla - I just happened to find this in Superdrug, and as I'd not seen them both I thought I would give them a go! It was so worth it! It’s really moisturising, smells yummy and has worked wonders on my lips - what more needs to be said here. For a full review have a look here.

Accessorize Baked Blusher in Starlet - OMG love this blush, actually love the whole Accessorize range. Luckily and slightly weirdly, the store nearby where I work had the range out almost a month ago and I've been using the blush nearly everyday since. Colour is gorgeous - love it! Already swatched it here.

Rimmel Black Cherries - Full review here by K - after seeing K's review, just thought the colour was stunning! Love it on and been wearing it for the last 2 weeks!

Special Mentions - I thought I'd just mention a few products that I'm still loving! Obviously my Liz Earle - Cleanse and Polish and Sudocrem (so helping with dry skin and spots!).

K:

My favourites this month are:

Dove Original Anti-Perspirant Deodorant Stick – I know you might laugh at having a deodorant as a fave but this is brilliant for me! Again I started to use it about a month ago as my underarms were getting dry/soar. It really helps to keep me dry and my underarms feel great....thought I do sometime spray an aerosol on as well as I like the freshness it gives you but I like the moisture from the stick.

St Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish Fighting - I got this scrub after seeing Katie review on the Invigorating scrub, I will do a review shortly on the Blemish version! I use it once a week on a Sunday night and I can’t get over the difference adding this to my regime has made to my skin.

Atrixo Enriched Hand Cream (with Camomile) – I love this hand cream, it has a balm sort of feel to it and absorbs lovely. I have been putting it on every night for the last month and I have really noticed a difference! Also I just get mine from Savers and it’s a bargain.

Naked Hair Care – This is mine and L’s new favourite hair care brand, we both love it soooo much and we reviewed it here.

Collection 2000 Crystal Gloss in 9 Latte Crystal – for only £2.49 I love this colour (which isn’t a normal colour choice for me) and you can see me review here. (I feel I am becoming a slave to Collection 2000 at the moment – I really like their stuff)

I also wanted to do a special shout out to some other items Vichy 3in1 Cleanser and Vichy Toner (really clearing my skin up) and Palmers Coco Butter Lip Balm

***Eagled Eye Viewers will notice that L forgot to photograph Black Cherries and I have included it in my pictures***

Lipstick Shout Outs!!

Hey again...
Very busy on the blogging so far this morning haha!!

I just wanted to show some love to a new lipstick I have recently tried alongside one I use all the time.

Like many of you out there, I have recently found the new MUA range at Superdrug and pretty much went wild and bought every product haha!! One I have been wearing all weekend though is a pretty lipstick in shade 2. Its a stunning deep purpley pink which can be seen here ...

Alone, it can be a teeny bit too dry for me, so I have been mixing it with my favourite lipstick - the beautiful Estee Lauder Pure Colour in Crystal Baby...

Crystal baby is a really pretty light pink. It's slightly glossy and I love it because it isn't drying on my lips. In fact, its the kind of colour I look for in a lipgloss but can never find! Using it as a base for the MUA in shade 2 I found that the colour that I got is still a pinky purple, but that it's more like an intense girlie pink yet still quite natural. I found that it was slightly more flattering as the colour was not as dark and still managed to make me look a little more made up than the crystal baby because it highlights the edges of your lips, so that you don't need lip liner. I liked it because it made my lips look more defined, but the colour wasn't so intense that I felt like a fool wearing it!
I will definately be wearing it again and think it's a very good colour given that it only cost me £1.00. It's by far been the best MUA purchase I have made as some of the other colours I have not been as keen on.
I am going to try mixing some of my other lipsticks with my Crystal Baby lipstick and let you know how I get on - it really does seem to be working as a really good base colour!

BarryM Nail Paint in Berry Ice Cream (NOTD)

Ooooooo so I love love love this nail varnish. Seriously. Divine!

It is precisely what I wanted it to be. As I have found with most BarryM nail paint's it needs two coats, but after that you are good. The colour for me is just how you see it in the bottle and even without a top coat it has lasted a couple of days. Very impressive considering these products are such a bargain!!!

Here's a quick swatch pic of it on...
How much do you LOVE it!!! It's sooooooo pretty, by far my most favourite nail varnish of the year. Wearing it ALL the time!
I would seriously recommend it to anyone that wants a proper lilac nail varnish. It doesn't have the pink undertones that all the other ones I have tried have, its a real bluey lilac tone. I can't tell you how much I love this colour! Everyone should have Berry Ice Cream nails, they are just too cute!!!
