John Frieda Precision Foam Hair Colour

We were recently sent the John Freda Foam Colour range to try.  Now we're both redheads and do tend to keep our hair natural.  However our younger sister Hana, loves to try out different colours on a regular basis.

So in steps Hana,

But first some info,

"Like the rest of the Precision Foam Colour range, the new products offer salon-beautiful colour results from the comfort of your own home. The revolutionary non-drip foam spreads easily from root to tip and delivers 100% grey coverage, to leave you with nothing but shiny, natural-looking results."

The new shades are:
  • Black
  • Medium copper brown
  • Ash brown
  • Ash blonde
  • Burgundy
And because I like to be a bit bolder with my colour I went for the Burgundy.

This is my starting colour,

I'm a natural blonde, but at this point I had been growing out a coffee brown shade.

So on to the application,

1. Mix 1 and 2 together, and wait for it to start foaming up,

2. Make sure to use the gloves,

3. Apply all over and ensure an even coverage,

End result,

Have to admit the coverage isn't great, but thats more down to me.  Really should of striped my hair first!  There was a lot of different colours built up which has affected the application.  However the application was quick and easy, with very little mess and the colour left my hair very soft!

Need to try it out again, but strip my hair first!

There is a selection of videos now up on the John Frieda You Tube channel which shows you how simple the hair dye is to use http://youtu.be/_BIpxljmLLY

Also six lucky women are already sporting these new shade; you can see their transformation in these videos and pics over at www.facebook.com/johnfriedauk. As you'll see the results are stunning!

Finally keep your eyes peeled this week as we have a little giveaway with John Frieda going up!

N-Spa Indulgent Body Creams

We've mentioned the N-Spa range on here a few times.  It's an affordable yet luxe range of bath and body products stocked in Asda.  Most products are around £5.00 but come Christmas time they bring out some gorgeous little gift sets.  I picked this up in the January sales - for half price, a whole £2.50.

The set consists of 4 body creams - Chocolate Orange, Gingerbread Latte, Vanilla Creme Brulee and Hot Butter Fudge.

All smell amazing but my favourite is the Hot Butter Fudge.

The creams themselves are lovely and rich, but soak in quite quickly and your not left with a any tacky feeling. Once applied your left with a yummy smell all day.

These are only 75ml but usually come in 250ml tubes for around £3.50 to £5.00.

Well worth a go! and I definitely want some more.

Chloe Eau de Parfum

This has quickly become one of my favorite scent. It smells so fresh and femine and is never overpowering.  Not only that but I love the gorgeous design of the bottle - so chic!

The perfume itself consists of  top notes of ;

"peony, freesia and litchi, blending with a heart of rose, lily of the valley and Caribbean magnolia, rounded off with a smooth base of amber and Virginia cedar"

This was a present off my lovely husband and I absolutely love it. It fits in perfectly with my other scents but this is just lovely.

Goodies

I never got around to showing everyone my Christmas presents, but I did want to show you what I received off my Hubbie, as they were so perfect!  This was actually our first Christmas together as a married couple but we've actually been together 8 years, yet this was the first year that he really went all out.

Aren't they both pretty!

So in love with the Ted Baker watch - the detail is gorgeous and I especially like the teal green featured on the face.  Also I've been wanting a Mischa Barton handbag for ages and this one is perfect.  I love the gold details mixed with the purple interior - just makes it look so chic.

I was one happy girl on Christmas morning.

Pretty storage..

Picked up this lovely cut glass jar from the Boots Sale - reduced from £12.00 to £6.00. As you can see I'm storing my cotton pads in it.

Not only is it super cute with it's little green bow but it fits in perfectly with my other makeup storage. I have a few cut glass bowls and jars, that I keep a few bits in from hair clips to my everyday moisturizer and toner my my bed. They're things I need easy access to everyday but that doesn't mean I need to see them (if you get what I mean). I'd much rather have the pretty glass jars on show - pretty and organised.

The Body Shop Sale

Hey,

As you aware the high street is full of Sales and reductions. Recently The Body Shop drew me in and I just wanted to show you two things I got.
I actually ended up getting two lip products though there is certainly lots to tempt you, you can see the sale that on their website here.

The first lip product I got was the Delipsicous Sheer Lip Colour in No 7 Sheer Raspberry for £5.00 reduced from £9.50.

Here is what The Body Shop say,

'Deliciously sheer, moisturising lip colour made with 100% food-grade ingredients.

  • Sheer colour
  • Moisturising
  • Natural fruit flavour
  • Made with 100% food-grade ingredients

There are 9 shades available online but you would need to see what was in your local store.

These are very sheer on but also moisturising which I like and Sheer Raspberry does have a slight shimmer to it.

Its nicer than applying a gloss but it doesn't last that long on but its non tacky. I don't think I would have paid full price for this but I don't mind the £5.00 so much. You could end up going through this quite quick as it doesn't have any staying power.

The other item I got was the Delipscious Tinted Lip Balm,

I got Shade 2 Watermelon Crush for £4.00 reduced from £8.00.

What the Body Shop say,

'A balm with a natural fruit flavour that conditions as it adds a dash of colour. Made with 100% food-grade ingredients.

  • Moisturising
  • Subtle colour
  • Natural fruit flavour
  • Made with 100% food-grade ingredients'

The swatch below looks very sheer but on my lips its quite a bright pale pink. I don't like it!

I don't think this will see my lips again. It is moisturising on my lips but I really don't like the colour.

Have you brought any sale buys?

Thanks

Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector

So this is a long overdue post.

I actually still haven't got by hands on a BB cream, despite really wanting one. At the moment there are so many out there that I'm just not sure which one to go for. My mum on the other hand decided to give the Garnier BB Cream a go after seeing a few reviews. The whole idea of a product that can hydrate, illuminate, cover and even your skin.

So here's how she got one,

No Makeup,

With just the BB Cream,

here she is with a bit of concealer under her eyes, powder to set, a bit of bronzer and mascara.

The products blends in easily and works well under foundation or on it's own with a little bit of setting powder over the top.

She feels that it helps to evens out her skin tone as she suffers from discoloration and she's also noticed that the overall appearance has improved. She's impressed but still feels that she needs a product that's more a foundation type BB Cream than the Garnier so that she can skip the foundation part of her routine.

Verdict - 3.5/5
