18 in 1 Magic Soaps

Hey,

Today's post is on a brand that has a great concept and philosophy.

The brand is Dr Bonner, here is some information on the brand,

'Started by Emanuel Bronner, a third-generation soap maker, Dr. Bronner's soap has been hot since the 60s and is still going strong. Mr. Bronner rejected the use of industrial chemicals way ahead of his time, and now, more than forty years later, his grandsons run the business. With a mega-historic company whose founder is called "the godfather of today's green brands," Dr Bronner’s is championed by the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Drew Barrymore and Sandra Bullock.

Dr. Bronner’s soaps are magic multi-taskers, with 18 uses from 1 bottle of liquid soap. Best used with a cloth, towel, loofah or sponge you can use it to clean your body, your mouth & teeth, your fruit & vegetables, your bathroom and kitchen, your clothes and even your pets!

Dr. Bronner’s is available nationwide at ASOS, American Apparel, Liberty, select Waitrose stores and leading health shops.'

We were sent a couple of items to try from the range, we have the 18 in 1 Almond liquid soap, 18 in 1 Lavender liquid soap and the Tea Tree Bar Soap.

As you can see above they are made with organic oils and free from synthetic ingredients.

They each have a subtle aroma and aren't too overpowering.

I can't say I would use the Lavender for anything outside the bathroom, but it would be lovely in the bath.

L - I've got to add in here that I have a real issue with Lavender. It's on my list of most hated smells! So it was very difficult to give it a good go, but my mum and younger sister have loved it in the bath. As usual it's very relaxing.

I agree with K that I wouldn't use it for anything else other than the bath.

L - I've had a good go with the bar and I was really surprised as I haven't found it as drying on my skin as most soaps. Also with it being organic I found that I didn't end up with my usual allergic reaction (I've mentioned before that I'm allergic to most bubble baths, soaps and shower gels - well the chemicals in them anyway!)

I have been using the Almond as my hand wash in the bathroom and its great. It doesn't dry your skin out and removes all traces off make-up off my hands. I love it.

My only concern is that the liquid is quite thin and has slipped off my hands once or twice...maybe this is just my fault when I am dopey in the morning.

I am not sure how keen I would be to use these outside the norm of soap. I can understand that you could use them for hand washing, hair washing, bubble bath, shower gel etc but i am not convinced by veg washing and teeth....its seems weird. Would you give it a go? The concept is good and useful.

L - well the Hubbie thought he try it out washing his hair, as a shower gel and even tried it on his teeth! Hair and shower works well, but no to the teeth.

I am loving the liquid soap and have been eyeing up the baby mild for the little one. I am so impressed with the soap at the moment that I would buy this myself. It is very hard to find a hand wash that can easily remove makeup off my hands but doesn't dry them out...and the prices isn't terrible either.

RRP for 18 in 1 Hemp Pure castile Soap 8fl oz £4.99, travel size £1.69 and solid bar £3.50.

Thank You

A bit of pay day shopping...

As the title of this post suggests I did a bit of pay day shopping. Oasis currently have 25% all full price products so I was drawn in for a look. It looks like the offer is running till the 2nd of November.

I ended up with a two lovely items.
I got the black ring which should have been £12.00 but with 25% off was £9.60.

I love that its nice and chunky.

I was then drawn to a bag,

I love the colour.

This should have been £35.00 but I got it for £28.00. Its such a nice big slouchy bag but it also has a good amount of pockets. As a mum I always need a big bag but its nice to have lots of pockets to store everything in.

Have you made any pay day purchases? Have you checked out Oasis recently?

Thanks

Creme Brulee Vaseline

Hey,

Guess what I sported in Superdrug in Oxford today on my little shopping trip...
Yes the new limited edition Vaseline. Now in the post I did on this last on Wednesday, you can see it here, I said it was due for release nationwide as of the 2nd November. Yet I supported it in Superdrug today...weird.

Anyone I you've probably guessed I had to get one.

Firstly how lovely is the packaging...very cute! I think I paid £2.99 but I had also got some other bits and I am not sure where the receipt is.

Some bloggers had received a sample of this in a plain box to try and guess the new scent. I don't think I would have been able to guess Creme Brulee, I might have gone with some sort of Vanilla but not Creme brulee.

It does have a sweet warm vanilla scent which is nice, but I think I was expecting more from it. But this might be better from some people as I know not everyone like overwhelming smells in their lip products. But oh well its a nice edition to my lip balm collection and the vintage style caramel cracking tin is lovely.

Thanks

Favourite Bronzer

I'm not a huge fan of Bronzer's - it's so easy with pale skin to end up being heavy handed. It can all end badly! That being said however I LOVE Bare Minerals Warmth Bronzer.

I had my initial reservations given how dark it looks, but after being shown how to correctly apply it for my skin tone at the Bare Minerals counter it's so wearable for any skin tone. It just adds a subtle sun kissed glow! Also it's matte which I love - I'm not convinced by shimmery bronzer.

The only down side is the packaging for me. It's in the usual mineral tub so it gets everywhere. I know Bare Minerals changed their packaging to include a shifter so you can just get a little out, but I'm not sure if that was just for their foundations or their whole range.

I need very little on the brush and then I sweep it on both sides of my face, basic in a 3 shape. I then run it quickly down my nose.

I actually purchased it as a part of a starter set but you can pick it up for around £19.00 on it's own.

GOSH Glitter

I love all things sparkly so when I spotted GOSH nail glitter in the blog world I knew I needed to get some. It took me awhile as I kept forgetting to pick it up in my Superdrug.

I settled on Silver in the end, but there is a choice of around 10 shades and cost £3.95. The other colours are Blue Sapphire, Amethyst Purple, Rose Quartz, Jade Green, Ruby Red, Turquoise, Gold, Grey Moonstone and Topaz Lavender.
I have seen a couple of different ways to apply this glitter. I loved how Giddy Princess had used the gold version and Holly, but I also loved the all over effect seen on London Beauty Review.

I decided to try a sprinkling over the tips and I like the effect that I came out (nail polish is Miss Sporty Dark Grey). I painted a clear coat of polish over the nail and I dipped the tip into the pot, then sparkled some glitter over the rest of the nail.

These would be fantastic for the Christmas season, but I can see them being nightmare to remove and you would need a top coat (this might also be an issue). The glitter is super fine and you could end up making a right mess. I am going to try an all over look as well. But I think I would need to have paper underneath me. Like you use to have it at school when using glitter, fold it in half then lie it under you so you are able to tip the excess back into the pot.

I would like to get the Gold and Grey Moonstone next.

Have you tried these?

3...The Magic Number

I don't think I have properly mentioned a perfume on here, L has before but I never have.

Well today's post is on my new favourite perfume, I have literally been using it everyday! It D&G 3 L'Imperatrice eau de toilette and retails at around £38 for 100ml. What D&G say about it,

'D&G 3 L'Imperatrice begins with rhubarb, red currant and juicy kiwi accord, over a pretty heart of pink cyclamen, fresh watermelon accord and jasmine petal. Dolce & Gabbana D&G 3 L'Imperatrice has a subtle and lasting base of musk notes, sandalwood and grapefruit wood.'

The smell is super fruity and exotic but its not heavy at all, very light fragrance. I love it sooooo much.

This was the perfume collection that had the ad featuring Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Eva Herzigova, they were all naked in the ad. Each of the models are linked to a particular fragrance, with Naomi Campbell being linked to 3. Out of the 3 female fragrances this was the only one I liked, I really wasn't a fan of any of the others. I haven't tried the male ones yet but I have been told that only one of them is nice.

I managed to get this from a company that popped into our office so I got it for £18 instead of £38 - BARGAIN.

Have you tried any of these?

Thanks

Thelimited edition Creme Brulee is availlable in Selfridges Oxford Street and Manchester Echnage square on the 27th October - 2nd November, and will be nationawide from the 3rd November. The RRP is £2.99.

Disco Nails

I love sparkly things, I am like a magpie while out shopping. After seeing numerous posts on Models Own Juicy Jules I finally got hold of one.
Models Own nail polishes retail at £5 and online or in Boots they occasionally run 3 for 2 offers or buy 3 and save £3. I just picked mine up in Boots, but after getting it I saw it in a set of 3 glitter polishes in River Island for £10, see here.

Its just as lovely as I expected, its like a disco in a bottle. Below is a swatch with two coats which on my actual nail I quite like.

But a I also really like it as a glitter top coat, all the below are 1 coats.

From left to right Models Own Betty Blue, Miss Sporty in 420, George Black, and Fearne Cotton in Hot Pink. I really love it over the Miss Sport dark grey...I may have just found may Christmas nails. I did a post a couple of weeks back on the sparkly shoes I wanted for the Christmas season, but is this going to be over kill.

Are you a Juicy Jules fan? Do you have a favourite combo? Will you be rocking glitter this festive season?

Thanks

NYX lipglosses Love's Anthem

I will warn you first that this post is picture heavy!

Here is the post on the NYX lipgloss set that I purchased the other day in TK Maxx, as you can see it retailed at £9.99 for 10 glosses.
I have never tried anything from NYX so when I saw this I had to give them a go. I did think a couple of shades would not be my cup of tea.

But the 5 shades on the right in the image above are my sort of colours. You can see below a swatch of each shade. Even though I was drawn to the paler shades on the right I have to say the swatches 1-3 looked great!

I have swatched each of the colours on the lips in the images below, these are in reverse order of the swatches above.

When I first started to try these out I noted that they smelled pleasant. Nothing overpowering just a pleasant, slightly fruity aroma. All except 5 & 6 applied nicely, these two were not great to apply at all. But I noticed straight away that these are definitely tacky once on your lips....I hate sticky or even tacky lipglosses. You should not have to be concerned that your hair may stick to your lips!..but I am with these on. I am going to persist a little bit with them, but this maybe a deal breaker for me.

Now for the lip swatches, the first couple mostly look the same on but in person they did appear different. I really love the first 5 colours on.

Now for the odd one from the bunch. Its an odd colour, smell and applied rubbish.

Now I was surprised that i really liked the next two colours on, they really aren't my normal choice of gloss at all.

Are you a fan of NYX lipglosses? If you have tried other NYX glosses, are they normally tacky?

Thank You
