This little cleansing bar is loved by a number of celebrities and has been featured in a number of magazines.  It's essentially a cleansing bar to use morning and night.  It's layered with a long list of nourshing indegrients including Peptides, Hyaluronic Acid, Promegranate Extraxt, Vitamins, Aloe and Jojoba.  These all work together with the Silicia-silver combination to leave your skin fresh and glowing.  

Instructions are simple - Foam and then Rinse.  I tend to then apply a little toner followed by my mosituriser and have to say I love how my skin is behaving at the moment.  I think that's it really 'it's behaving' so what's not the love - well that maybe the price.  It's not the cheapest at £15.00 for the one shown here - yikes! But you get quite a few washes out of it if I'm honest so does last a good while.

I also received some samples from the rest of their other Silver products.  I haven't tried them out yet, but realistically I've got a one days trial of each.

Today's post is on a brand that has a great concept and philosophy.


The brand is Dr Bonner, here is some information on the brand,

We were sent a couple of items to try from the range, we have the 18 in 1 Almond liquid soap, 18 in 1 Lavender liquid soap and the Tea Tree Bar Soap.

As you can see above they are made with organic oils and free from synthetic ingredients.

They each have a subtle aroma and aren't too overpowering.

I can't say I would use the Lavender for anything outside the bathroom, but it would be lovely in the bath.

L - I've got to add in here that I have a real issue with Lavender. It's on my list of most hated smells! So it was very difficult to give it a good go, but my mum and younger sister have loved it in the bath. As usual it's very relaxing.

I agree with K that I wouldn't use it for anything else other than the bath.

L - I've had a good go with the bar and I was really surprised as I haven't found it as drying on my skin as most soaps. Also with it being organic I found that I didn't end up with my usual allergic reaction (I've mentioned before that I'm allergic to most bubble baths, soaps and shower gels - well the chemicals in them anyway!)

I have been using the Almond as my hand wash in the bathroom and its great. It doesn't dry your skin out and removes all traces off make-up off my hands. I love it.

My only concern is that the liquid is quite thin and has slipped off my hands once or twice...maybe this is just my fault when I am dopey in the morning.

I am not sure how keen I would be to use these outside the norm of soap. I can understand that you could use them for hand washing, hair washing, bubble bath, shower gel etc but i am not convinced by veg washing and teeth....its seems weird. Would you give it a go? The concept is good and useful.

L - well the Hubbie thought he try it out washing his hair, as a shower gel and even tried it on his teeth! Hair and shower works well, but no to the teeth.

I am loving the liquid soap and have been eyeing up the baby mild for the little one. I am so impressed with the soap at the moment that I would buy this myself. It is very hard to find a hand wash that can easily remove makeup off my hands but doesn't dry them out...and the prices isn't terrible either.

Quick Update on the Pears Soap

Day 4 of the Pears Soap Experiment.

Still no dryness!!!

Had a few more blemishes by the time I went to bed last night, but got up again this morning and they'd gone. My skin is still feeling really soft and I swear my pores are still looking smaller (I may have been staring at them abit too much or I may just want to see a result but I honestly think I've seen a difference for the better)

This is amazing, I just hope it continues cos for 64p from Asda (or any supermarket/pharmacy), its such a BARGAIN!

Pears Soap

Now I’m having a bit of an experiment at the moment with my daily skin routine.

I fully admit that I’m realllllllly lazy when it comes to maintaining a skin routine – having only recently managed to train myself to taking off my makeup at night, cleansing, toning and moisturising. I know shocking!!

I only cleanse and tone occasionally in the mornings - but I do moisturise everyday!

Right now back to the experiment……

After reading a few reviews lately I’ve decided to try using Pears Soap in the evening to take my makeup off and general clean my face. Now, I know what you’re thinking – Soap???…....isn’t that going to dry you out. Well from what I’m read it doesn’t seem to have really caused that problem and at the moment I’m on day 3 of using it and if anything my face is less dry than usual. My skin has a tendency to look quite dry in patches on my nose (well I would say I have combination skin – which is also quite sensitive to certain products) - it’s therefore quite a weird sensation using soap.

However I’ve decided to give this ago as even though I’m in my mid 20’s I still suffer from spots along my jaw and on my chin – and not just at my time of the month, and a lot of people have commented that they have found Pears good at clearing up their spots.

Day 1

Now after using it on Sunday night I did feel as though my face was squeaky clean – which was a bit weird but didn’t really notice anything different to how my face usually feels. I then continued with my usual cleansing and toning routine.

Day 2

Now when I got up I’d noticed that I had broken out in a few tiny spots on my chin – although this weren’t really that noticeable under my makeup. I went home that evening and once again used the soap to take my makeup off before my usual skin routine (I’m currently avoiding my nose area as this is somewhere I get really dry skin and if all goes well elsewhere I’ll start to try it on my nose).

Day 3

I swear my skin looks better today – still no dryness which is amazing!!!!. My pores seem to be smaller as well.


I’m actually really excited to go home and use the soap again tonight – hopefully I’ll still be dryness free hehe!!
