L'Occitane Cologne Collection

Today's post is on the new colognes available from L'Occitane.
What L'Occitane say
'The landscape of Provence is shaped by fountains, wells, springs and rivers. Their refreshing, crystal-clear, lulling murmurs create a soothing backdrop to the sun-drenched days.

To celebrate these sources of freshness, abundance and vitality, L'OCCITANE has created a collection of eaux de cologne.
Eau Universelle, Eau Ravissante, Eau Captivante:
discover three refreshing eaux de cologne that quench the senses.
'

There is a choice of 3 fragrances Eau Ravissante (floral cologne for women), Eau Universelle (citrus cologne unisex) and Eau Captivante (aromatic cologne for men).

I was lucky to received Eau Ravissante (300 ml) to try. My first thought was how great the bottle looked with its Art Deco design!

Here is what L'Occitane say about the fragrance,
'The Eau Ravissante Fresh Cologne offers a dazzling bouquet of floral aromas with fruity citrus notes. This mischievous fragrance combines the sensual softness of rose petals with the sparkling freshness of citrus fruits.
The Eau Ravissante contains the essential oils of Mediterranean bergamot and damascena rose.'

This is my sort of fragrance and reminds me of my current favourite D & G no.3.

The 300 ml bottle is a screw top without a spray and you certainly can't take this in your bag. But luckily they do a 50ml spray bottle for your handbag.
I love the smell and I am also tempted by the unisex version as well.

Available in a large 300ml bottle (£37), handbag size 50ml sprays (£21) and shower gels (£13).

Thanks

L'Occitane Makeup Range

So today we've got something a little special to share with you.  We L'Occitane here on the blog.  The products are always smell and look amazing - for me they do the best hand cream ever.

Well they're now releasing a Makeup range.

Launching in April 2012 and part of the Pivoine Delicate range, L'Occitane have created 3 lipsticks, 3 lip glosses and a gorgeous lip gloss/perfume combo which you can see above.

We were sent a lipstick in Pivoine Delicate, the gloss in Rose Fremissant and the Eau de Toilette and Gloss Duo.

Firstly I have to just stop and say that the packaging is absolutely stunning.  It has a real vintage vibe to it and I have to say I love it. Gorgeous and chic.

Swatch of the gloss duo.

Gloss Duo

The Eau de Toilette is gorgeous which blends the softness of peony and rose petals and lily of the valley.  It smells so beautiful and is perfect for spring.

The gloss is such a gorgeous peachy shade that is to easy to wear.  The gloss itself has a little brush which makes it easy to apply.

Gloss and lipstick swatch.

Lip gloss - Rose Fremissant

The main gloss range is slightly different and applies with a little padded foot instead, which I do think provides a much better coverage of the gloss.  The lovely pink shade is a perfect colour for me - only downside is that it's shimmery (regular readers will know that I have serious issues with glittery/shimmery/sparkly products) but despite my issues the colour is so feminine and summery.

Lipstick - Pivoine Delicate

Finally we have my favourite of the range which is a gorgeous nude/pink.  It's quite a sheer lipstick but I like the look.  It applies amazingly and I love the end result.

Overall I'm really impressed with the range.  It screams of girly elegance with its gorgeous delicate peaches, pinks and reds and the packaging is just so pretty.  I do think they're a little pricey but I feel like the packaging and overall quality does go someway to justifying the price.

Eau de Toilette - £14.00
Lip Gloss - £11.50
Lipstick - £12.50

Next Diamonds

I'd seen Fee from Makeup Savvy comment on this before I really fancied giving it a go. I'm a huge fan of the Next perfumes with Define being one of my favourites.

This is said to smell like Miss Dior Cherie and having given it go and then smelling the original I'd have to agree.

Such a little bargain for £6.99 for 30 ml and fits perfect in your handbag without being big and heavy. Also it's only a bargainous £10 for 75ml

Liz Earle Botanical Essence No 1

When I received this I wasn’t even aware that Liz Earle had a perfume in their range. My initial opinion was that as usually the packaging was perfect, making the whole think look and feel expensive. It would make such a gorgeous gift for someone.

It’s a lovely naturally scented perfume – very musky aromatic scent to it. Sounds a bit strange but it really works. It makes it a great everyday scent which is very suited to the winter months. I find it too strong for a summer fragrance – I like my summer scents quite fruity.

If I’m honest I can’t see everyone liking this and personally I think the scent would suit someone more mature. I do prefer something with either a floral or fruity scent, but obviously it all depends on what works for you.

3...The Magic Number

I don't think I have properly mentioned a perfume on here, L has before but I never have.

Well today's post is on my new favourite perfume, I have literally been using it everyday! It D&G 3 L'Imperatrice eau de toilette and retails at around £38 for 100ml. What D&G say about it,

'D&G 3 L'Imperatrice begins with rhubarb, red currant and juicy kiwi accord, over a pretty heart of pink cyclamen, fresh watermelon accord and jasmine petal. Dolce & Gabbana D&G 3 L'Imperatrice has a subtle and lasting base of musk notes, sandalwood and grapefruit wood.'

The smell is super fruity and exotic but its not heavy at all, very light fragrance. I love it sooooo much.

This was the perfume collection that had the ad featuring Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Eva Herzigova, they were all naked in the ad. Each of the models are linked to a particular fragrance, with Naomi Campbell being linked to 3. Out of the 3 female fragrances this was the only one I liked, I really wasn't a fan of any of the others. I haven't tried the male ones yet but I have been told that only one of them is nice.

I managed to get this from a company that popped into our office so I got it for £18 instead of £38 - BARGAIN.

Have you tried any of these?

Thanks

Everyday Budget Friendly Perfume

Like most girls I love my perfumes, and love getting new ones for birthdays etc. However I'm the first to admit that I don't always like to use my expensive perfumes daily - I feel like it's such a waste. But I still want to smell nice!

Well this is was my solution - River Island Perfume in Perfect.

I first tried this when I was at Uni, when I was a poor student and on a window shopping trip to River Island I saw this and thought what the hell - it was £9.99 for around for the largest bottle (it think 100ml - but not entirely sure as I now always purchase the 30 ml for £4.99).

It was love at first stiff - ha ha, lame but true! It's such an easy scent to wear and I get so many compliments when I've got it on. I'm rubbish with descriptions of scents and given the lack of details supplied on the packaging, all I can say that it has a spicy floral scent.

I always have a bottle on me and the 30 ml bottle is perfect for carrying around in your handbag.

NYC American Eagle Outfitters Haul - Times Square

Firstly, just let me say this:-

I freaking loved this shop. As much as I would love to be fashionable, really I am a basic tee's and jeans kinda girl. So this place was amazing to me. Graphic tee's for $10!!! Loads of teeny casual shorts, hoodies, flip flops, skinnies (I mean jeans not people).

And the big billboard in front of it!!!

Yes I know, I am easily pleased, but the city I live in isn't much of a city so forgive me.

Anyhooooow!! I didn't go wild because at the end of the day I buy t-shirts all the time haha. And I knew that if I basically bought shed loads of summer clothes I'd regret it because we don't get a summer in the UK!

Here's what I did buy however...
Still not bad. So the tee's were only $10 each!! How good is that, and so far so good - they have retained their shape (unlike some more expensive ones I have purchased in the past!).
The shorts were bought because it was like freaking 80 degrees or something when I got there and was bored of wearing my going out ones haha!! (oh yeah, and then I never wore them cos the sun went in!!).
The jeans were like $30 and the grey top was like $29.50 I think. I lived in that grey top too in NYC in end because it got so windy!!!
Oh! And not to forget the mini roll on perfume at $12 something. LOVE IT. It hasn't left my handbag!!
Oooooo and the best bit?? I have found out that I can purchase online and that they ship to UK (yay!) at ae.com
Happy times...
Giddy P
