Nails Inc Neon Crackle

Just a quick post to about the new Neon Nail Crackle's from Nails Inc.  These are just stock images no swatches but I was so excited when I saw them I had to do a post!
I have never fancied the crackle polishes and so far have not used one.  But I am loving the neon trend and then when I saw these images I knew these were for me!

Here's what Nails Inc say,
'Your favourite nail trend just got even better! We have taken crackle to the next level with four new super chic neon shades. Try these vibrant colours over Floral Street brilliant white nail polish for a show stopping finish. What better way to update your Spring Summer wardrobe?'

Here are the shades available:

I would love Camden Town and Kings Cross.  Here's how Nails Inc say you should apply them.

How to apply

• Apply one coat of your chosen nails inc base coat

• Apply two coats of your Floral Street nails inc polish

• Leave to dry for 5 minutes

• Apply 1 coat of your chosen neon crackle shade. Have fun with this - try painting in different directions as this will affect how your design will look.

• Wait and see your nail polish appear through the cracks!

What do you think?

Thanks

L'Oreal Color Riche in Rebel Blue

Today's post is a review on a new nail polish I picked up from Boots. It is from the new Colour Riche nails which is L'Oreal first long lasting mini nail collection, the shade I got was Rebel Blue. The collection contains 41 gel based colours designed by L'Oreal Paris' Colour Creative Director Orrea Light.
The choice of shades is great, the cost £4.99 for 5ml bottle which I do think is expensive.

I have previously showed you Ingenuos Rose here, French Riviera here and Rue Montmartre here.  Rebel Blue is such a lovely Blue shade, it even has a (very) slight shimmer to it.  It reminds me a lot of Nails Inc Baker Street which Beyonce wore after the birth of her daughter Blue Ivy.

The swatch above was with 2 coats applied and you can see it gives a great opaque finish.  Application is lovely and easy due to the fat fat brush (my favourite type of brush to apply nail polish). Though the consistency can be a little runny so just watch out!

What do you think? Overall I like this nail polish though its a tad expensive and I would certainly look at more shades. Have you tried them? Do you have a fave shade?

Thanks

Mii Pure Wonder Concealer

So today's review of Mii Cosmetics Wonder Concealer on Awake01. Now firstly I've discussed on here a few times that I'm obsessed with my dark circles (only made worse by the fact I wear glasses - always seem to add a shadow), so I'm always after a brightening under eye concealer.

Mii is a relatively new discover for both K and myself. K showed you the Mii uplifting Cheek Colour in Kissed previously. However the brand already has a few celeb fans namely Olivia Palermo. She was seen at London Fashion Week wearing one of the Moisturising Lip Lovers in Tease.

Anyway back to the concealer! Firstly I think the product itself comes in a lovely sleek looking packaging. I actually think the whole range looks well presented and expensive. The concealer then has a little brush on the end. Only complaint I had is that it seemed to get extremely messy by the brush!

You simply twist, apply with the brush and pat. If I'm feeling particularly annoyed by my dark circles that morning I tend to brush a little in with a concealer brush and then pat a little extra on top.

It promises to do the following:

"disguise dull, tired skin and dark circles, lightening and correcting the delicate area under the eye, while moisturising and smoothing for a youthful, bright-eyed look"
It easily hides the worst of the colouring and brightens the area. I have to admit that I wouldn't usually wear this just on it's own.  I would tend to either use Benefit's Erase Paste or Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer first and then this on top.  Both these combo's work brilliant.  Have to say though for most normal people and not the dark circle crazies like me, this is more than enough.

It's £20.50 for 1.5ml - which is quite steep.

Orly Robo Romance

Today's post is a NOTD featuring Orly's Robo Romance.  After trying out Orly Steel your Heart I was excited to try another shade.  I popped along to my local Boot's and picked up a mini polish for £5.

Robo Romance is a sheer pink polish with a hint of holographic sparkle (very slight).  The polish is very sheer so I decided to layer 3 coats over a very pale nude/pink.  But as you can see its still very sheer.  Though this still makes a lovely day time nail or would be a lovely bridal nail.  I am going to try this over a more pale barbie pink next time!

The bottle has the gripper cap the same as the normal size bottle though I didn't feel this had as much grip as the normal bottle.  But these are such a great feature!

What do you think?

Are you an Orly fan? Whats your favourite shade?

 Thanks

L'Oreal Rouge Caresse 301 Dating Coral

Today's post is on L'Oreal Rouge Caresses in 301 Dating Coral.  One of my favourite blogs to read is The Sunday Girl and after seeing this on her blog I had to give it ago.

The range is similar in ways to the Revlon Lip Butters but I have not seen these pushed or shouted about half as much as the Revlon Lip Butters.  But they product also remind me of the 17 Mirror Shine.

The first thing that grabbed me about the product was the packaging, its chrome with a transparent casing and looks nice and sleek.  I also like that you can see the colour of the product inside.

As you can see Dating Coral is a lovely coral shade and does seem to have an orange tone to it.
As we the Revlon lip butters the formula is a cross between a lip balm and a lipstick.  I actually prefer the texture of this to my Revlon lip butters it feels more moisturising on my lips.  It feels more glossy then the lip butters as well.

Overall I am really impressed with this and I love the colour!  The longevity of it on the lips is not great but what have you expect when it is so glossy.

Here is it on the lips.
If you are a fan of Revlon Lip Butter and 17 Mirror Shine then L'Oreal Caresses is certainly for you.  You should also be able to find a colour shade wise as well.  I would now really like to get 03 Lovely rose, 501 Nude Ingenue, 103 Sweet Berry and 101 Tempting Lilac.

You can get the L'oreal Rouge Caresses at Boots, Superdrug etc for around £7.99.

What do you think?  Have you tried these?

Thanks

Diego Dalla Palma Snow White & The Huntsman

Today' post is on Diego Dalla Palma new make-up palette to tie in with the release of Snow White and the Huntsman.  There has certainly been a new revival of Snow White at the moment.  There is two Snow White films this year, first Snow White featuring Lily Collins and Julia Roberts and  then there Snow White and The Huntsman featuring Kristen  Stewart, Chris Hemsworth (yum) and Charlize Theron.  But you also have the tv series Once upon a Time on Channel 5 at the moment.  I have to say Snow White and the Huntsman looks more my cup of tea.

To celebrate the lunch of the film Diego Dalla Palma have created a palette to go along with it containing a beautiful collection of six easily blendable eyeshadows inspired by the battleground adventure, as well as a full size lipstick and eye pencil.

the set contains three beautiful eyeshadow shimmers and three complementing matte shades: Snow, Shield, Mirror Mirror, Fairest, Destiny and Battleground. To complete the look The Wicked Queen Lipstick in vivid blood red, and Dark Night eye pencil in darkest black.

The set looks lovely and certainly looks very similar in quality to Urban decay and Too faced.  If you would like to see swatches Makeup Savvy has some on her blog here.

The set will cost £25 and will be exclusively online at Tesco Direct from May and available in Tesco stores from June 2012.

What do you think? A good collaboration?

Thanks

H+M Nail Polish Daisy Duck

Today's post is a quick NOTD on H&M nail polish in Daisy Duck. I picked this up on a whim in H&M the other day for £2.99.

As you can see it's a strange colour, it's certainly has a grey tone yet I also feel you can see a bit of a pale (very) khaki green to it. As I've said before colours are not my strong point!

This polish is quite light in texture and took 3 coats for the picture above. Though I liked the colour I just felt it needed jazzing up and decided to add a silver glitter coat over the top.
I would certainly look in H&M again at the nail polishes, especially for the price.

Have you tried H&M nail polishes?  What's your favourite colour?

Thanks

Model's Own Hed Kandi

So today's review is on the Model's Own Hed Kandi Nail Polish - we have Hedonist, Disco Heaven, Ibiza Mix, Beach Party, Balearic Cool (left to right and top to bottom).

Models Own have combined with Hed Kandi to create a collection inspired by the summer party capital Ibiza and I definitely think they've managed that.  The range is very bright and fun - perfect for a clubbing night out and at £5.00 each they're great.

Hedonist is a gorgeously bright coral that is probably for me the most wearable of the shades and a perfect colour for summer.

Disco Heaven is lovely, but I'm just not a fan of glittery polishes. K on the other hand loves them and this is right up her street.  Now you'll noticed that in the picture, the nail looks badly painted however I've included this image to highlight that you need to be careful as it blobs off the brush - nightmare.

Out of the two glitter polishes I could more see me using Ibiza Mix.  I love the different colours included and quite fancy this on my toes for summer.  Like with any glitter polish you need a couple of coats to get a good finish.

Now Beach Party is a very bright orange.  Honestly it looks a lot more OTT here and in the bottle than the end result.  I can see this working will with most peoples summer wardrobe.

Now I love Balearic Cool!  Fully admit that I was a bit apprehensive at first but once on it really does live up to it's name and gives just the most lovely sea blue colour.  This is going to be an absolute staple for me this summer and if I was off to Ibiza this year this would be my colour of choice from the set.  Possibly with an Ombre effect using Ibiza Mix on the tips.

Finally some extra pictures of Ibiza Mix used as a top coat.

Overall for £5.00 these are such a lovely bunch of fun colours for summer and I have to say that as a brand the polishes are great quality at a reasonable price.

Liz Earle Skincare Essentials

So today we wanted to give you a heads up about a great offer Liz Earle runs every month – basically it’s their Your Monthly Skincare Essentials.

It includes Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish, Instant Boost Skin Tonic and Skin Repair Moisturiser. Your also usually get a little extra treat – this month being the Energising Body Lotion (I've linked our previous Liz Earle Reviews).  It costs you £41.00 and you get free postage and packaging. Normal price for the package would be £63.00, which is a great saving.

Now my mum recently purchased this after hours of me of raving about the Cleanse and Polish and loving the skin repair moisturiser, she decided that this was a great way to buy her moisturiser and try the other products. I think she purchased hers in February and received the Intensive Nourishing Treatment Mask and also as she had stated that she was recommended the offer by a friend she was sent a sample size of the Cleanse and Polish with a Muslin cloth.

Overall if you like the products this is a great way to purchase them cheaply! I’m actually keen to get the Cleanse and Polish trio, which means you save around £1 on each and you have spares.

imPress Press-On Manicure by Broadway Nails

So todays' review is on the imPress Press-On Manicure by Broadway Nails. We were kindly sent the D090 Space Cadet set to try.

Firstly I've got to say I love the design, despite my dislike of all things glittery (well makeup + glitter).  The gold glitter finish is just nice and subtle and makes the overall look just pop.

I love the idea of these and like my mum commented 'wonder why no-one has done anything like these before?'.  The nails themselves have a little sticker on them which means you don't need to bother with any glue.  Simple pick the correct size, peel off the cover and press firmly onto the nail.  It recommends that you wipe your nails first with the enclosed prep pad to help with adhesion of the nail.

Now these are very quick and easy to apply.  But once they're on they seem to easily pop off!  I touched the remote and one came off and then the dog and another came off - not good.  I've eventually stuck them on with nail glue which was obviously not quite the plan.  The only other problem I encountered was the sizing.  Now I do have quite little nails but I do think a lot of people would struggle with the finding the the right fit.  Have to say though once you do I'm more than happy with the end result, just a shame the won't say on with just the sticky pads.
