EOTD E.L.F Mystic Moss

Hey,

As you may already be aware I am a big fan of E.L.F make-up on here and we have both featured E.L.F products more than once, you can see previous posts here.

Today's post features an eyeshadow from the studio range, these retail at £3.50 for 2.75g and come in 10 shades. I purchased mine in Mystic Moss and I have to say I am pleased with it (and only pleased).
As the name suggests it is a moss colour which comes out a a dark petrol blue green shade. The pigmentation is also quite good, you can see a swatch further down, and it is buildible. I find I prefer to apply these eyeshadow with a slightly damp brush - the colour is better and less powder fall off. I also like the packaging on this eyeshadow, the studio range comes with much better packaging than a lot of the E.L.F range. It feels sturdy and is pleasant to look at - definitely not cheap looking.

Although I am quite happy with my purchase and would pick up another shade I don't think these are particularly great value for money. As I said these retail at £3.50 for 2.75g where you can get Boots 17 Solo Eyeshadows for £3.89 and they are more pigmented than E.L.F. So I wouldn't be shouting from the roof tops to buy these E.L.F Studio eyeshadows - I feel there are better options on the highstreet for your money. But if you need an item to help meet one of the numerous E.L.F offers that they run (i.e. fee delivery with min £10), this is an option.

I have also done an EOTD featuring Mystic Moss.
Products used:

  • Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair

  • UDPP

  • No7 Mascara in Brown

  • E.L.F Studio Eyeshadow in Mystic Moss across most of eye

  • Urban Decay eyeshadow Virgin in inner corner

Have you tried any E.L.F eyeshadows?

Thanks

EOTD Sleek Paraguaya

OK so I'm a bit late to the party with the Sleek Paraguaya palette, but now I'm hooked.

I never thought I would be able to use the colours and although I love it, I'm not entirely convinced I can make all the peaches and oranges work as eye shadows but they are very pretty as blushers.

So here's my EOTD,

Products used:

From the palette:

  • Cameo and Persimmon as blusher

  • Sandstone over the lid

  • Stone in the socket

  • Bittersweet blended from the socket down to the lash

  • Bellini in the corner

Models Own EOTD

Don't you just love it when you rediscover a product that you completely forgot about! Even though I now have my make-up really organised I tend to use a lot of the same products on a daily basis. But I noticed a Models Own eyeshadow duo that I hadn't really used so decided to wear it for work. The duo was from the gift you could get with some tokens from Fabulous magazine, which you can see a post here. The duo is a charcoal/black shade and a pale gold, below is the look I did using the Charcoal shade. Products I used:

  • Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep Effect no 71

  • Lily Lolo Blush Away

  • No7 Quick Cover Blemish Stick

  • No7 Mascara in Brown

  • Models Own Duo Set - Charcoal Shade

  • Bourjois Round Pot in 03 Rose Perle

  • E.L.F Studio Blush in Merry Berry

Thanks

17 Limited Edition Vintage Eye Palette in Pretty Pastels

I thought I'd give you a quick look at the 17 Limited Edition Vintage Love Pretty Pastels palette. K's previously shown you the Metallic Nudes palette.

First of all I have to say that I don't really pick up many palettes. I'm not usually convinced by the colours in a lot of sets and I have to admit I kind of felt the same about this, but as it was on 3 for 2 I thought I'd give it ago.

Also how cute is the packaging and the actual layout of the shadows.

I don't own many pastels colours so was quite keen to give it a go for spring - just to get some a nice fresh look.

All the colours a shimmery - which isn't also my thing, but I guess it works with pastel shades.

(no flash)

The shadows are not particularly pigmented, except for the dark purple. Which is a bit of a shame, but I think this can be a problem with pastels shades.

(flash)

The shimmery is picked up really well by the flash.

Overall I really quite like the little palette and they blend in quite nicely. I thought I would show you a quick EOTD using the colours. I kept it quite simple really as it was only for work.

I've used the lilac over the lid with the dark purple in the crease and to blend in. I also used a little white on the inside corners of my eyes.

In the picture I've also used:

  • Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in B10 Beige

  • Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in SC-1

  • Benefit Erase Paste in Fair

  • Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

  • Benefit Benetint

  • Accessories Bronzer in Golden Sands.

  • Palmers Lip Butter in Dark Chocolate and Peppermint

The Elusive Urban Decay Naked Palette....

Hey,

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw on lipglossiping.com that Debenhams had the Urban Decay Naked palette in stock and with the 10% discount I had to take a look.

In the end I decided to take a look in my Debenhams in Milton Keynes instead of ordering online and low and behold they had it in stock!!!
I absolutely love it! I am sure you have all seen swatches or reviews on this but for those who haven't I'll just do a quick run through. The palette itself comes nicely packed with a small Eye Primer Potion and inside the palette you get a lovely eye shadow brush as well. I got mine for £28.50 but it is normally £32.00. Though this is now out of stock online at Debenhams the Milton Keynes store has stock, so if you are searching for it maybe give your local Debs a ring.
The palette contains 12 gorgeous and rich neutral shades that are highly pigmented, that can create anything beautiful day/office look to a smokey evening eye.
My favourite shades so far are Sidecar, Toasted, Hustle and Darkhouse.

I have also done a little EOTD for you:
Products used:
  • Lily Lolo Peepo
  • Lily Lolo Blondie Concealer
  • UD Eye Primer Potion
  • UD Naked palette Virgin, Sin, Sidecar, Toasted and Hustle
  • The Body Shop Divide & Multiply Mascara in Brown.

Have you got the palette? What are your favourite shades or looks to create?

Thanks

MAC Sumputous Olive and Arctic Grey

I own a small MAC collection really and I especially don't have many eyeshadow's, which I'm going to try to work on this year. But I wanted to show you two of my favourite MAC eyeshadows, the first is Arctic Grey which is from an MAC Chill (an old collection 2009 I think) and the second is a Veluxe Pearl in Sumptuous Olive,I say they are my favourites but as with my other MAC eyeshadow's that I own I tend to only use for special occasions or nights out. Sumputous Olive is a lovely metallic khaki, as with all MAC eyeshadows it is very pigmented and applies lovely. I decided to show you a eye look using sumptuous olive,
I have used my Next Cashmere palete for eye base, MAC sumptuous Olive, Barry M in Old Gold 24, Collection 2000 Mascara in Brown. This is a look that I have used before on nights out as I like the darken green golden effect.

Now Arctic Grey is from an old MAC collection, I think it was MAC Chill, and I had picked this up from The Cosmectic Company at Bicester Village.
This was a colour that fits quite nicely into my eye collection and again is super easy for me to wear. I also so think at the time there wasn't many other things I liked at The Cosmectic Store, I hate leaving there with nothing! bUt I really liked this shadow it's a great shimmery grey and as with the MAC shadows I have tried its really pigemented.
For those who don't know The Cosmectic Company is a store that is normally in Outlet Shopping Villages and sells brand ranges at a discounted rate. You will normally find brands such as MAC, Clinique, Estee Lauder etc. I think you can find the stores at the following:
Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth
Cheshire Oaks, Ellesmere Port
Junction One, Antrim
I am hopefully going to pop to Bicester shortley to get some new bits!

For the rest of my face I had used:
Lily Lolo Peepo
Benefit Erase Paste in Fair
Benefit Benetint
Collection 2000 Bronzer
Any ideas and suggestions of MAC eyeshadows I should put on my wishlist?
Thanks

EOTD 17 Glam Rocks Palette Freebie...

This palette has been around for a while but I had actually had it off L in my Thank Gifts for helping on the blog. So I wanted to just show you the palette and an eye look I had done with it. To get the palette you need to spend £6 or more on 17 cosmetics at Boots, see here.
The palette contains 6 colours and is a wonderful free gift as normally with free gifts I tend to have something in them or a certain colour that I would never use, but this is soooo usable. The palette certainly doesn't look cheap and comes with a great mirror. The colours seem to be Glitter Style Queen, Glitter Spirit, Night Sky, Mardi Gras, Punky Purple and Darkness (2 x matte, 4 x shimmers). When I had swatched them above I didn't use a primer and they don't seem very pigmented but they are great on and the colours come out a lot stronger.

I decided to create an eye look using Glitter Style Queen as highlighter, Spirit, Night Sky, Darkness.
For the look I had used:
Benefit Erase Paste in Fair
Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion
17 Glam Rocks Palette (Glitter Style Queen, Darkness, Glitter Spirit, Night Sky)
E.L.F Mineral Eyeliner in Ash
Collection 2000 Mascara in Brown

I also tested out my Fearne cotton Brushes which L also got me and I love them so far.

Has anyone else been able to get their hands on this palette? what are your thoughts?
