L'Occitane Verveine Sorbet

Today's post is on a new summery range from L’Occitane’s called Sorbet Verbena, launching July 2012.

This limited edition includes an Eau De Toilette, a beautiful Citrus fragrance with top notes of Lime and Grapefruit as well as;

· Cooling Gloss (£8)

· Exfoliating Shower Gel (£15)

· Body Ice Gel (£18.50)

· Refreshing Mist (£10)

What L'Occitane say,
'L'OCCITANE Verbena is formulated from a premium quality verbena extract from Corsica, which is particularly fine and pure. The lemon fragrance energises and revives the senses, thereby helping to banish tiredness and stress. Products include fragrances, body care, home fragrances and hair care.'

I was lucky to receive a sample if the gloss to try.
The gloss has a lovely light refreshing scent and is an easy to apply cear gloss. It feels lovely and refreshing on as it has an ever so slight cooling sensation and is non sticky (yay no hair stuck to lips!). If I was off abroad this would be a fantastic pick me up for my handbag.

I now need to check out the shower gel and fragrance!

What's your favourite way to refresh in the heat?

Thanks

Look Beauty Double Hit Lip Rose Riot

For ages I had wanted to try Look Beauty and when I found it in the Northampton Superdrug I did go a bit crazy for L and myself. I did a previous post here on some of the other items I had bought.

Today's post is on Look Beauty's Double Hit Lip.

Here's what Look Beauty say,

'Universally flattering and as tan enhancing as a white dress, these colour pop shades look amazing, whether gloriously glossy or not! All the trends covered - matte, glossy or combine the two.'

The shade I have is Rose Riot.

As you can see you have a lipstick at one end and a gloss at the other, so you can create 3 looks which you can see above. The shade is a corally pink which really pops, though the gloss is a lot paler than the lipstick. The lipstick gives quite a matte finish so I do like the gloss over the top, yet the gloss tends to be a bit tacky (which I hate).

I have really fallen in love with this (though it's a bit bright for me) the staying power of the lipstick s fantastic! I really need to test out the normally lipsticks now!

These normally retail at £8 with a choice of 5 shades. Yet currently Look Beauty are running some summer offers and this is half price at £4.

You can purchase Look Beauty exclusively from Superdrug, you can check out the store's here and you can check out the rest of the range and purchase from here.

What do you think? Have you been able to try anything from the Look Beauty range?

Thanks

Look Beauty Lip Slick in Powder Puff (Shade1)

Today's post is on Look Beauty's lip gloss in Powder Puff.  For quite a while I hadn't been able to purchase anything from the range as I had wanted to test them out in store before ordering from the web.  But on a recent trip to Northampton Superdrug I managed to try out a couple of items and picked up a few things for myself and L.

Here is what Look say's about their range,
'Look is the UK's favourite and best selling fashion weekly magazine.  They are the first magazine to pool all their beauty industry experience to launch their own cosmetics range.'

My first review from the range is on a Lip Slick in Powder Puff.

Here is what Look says about their Lip Slicks,
'Perfectly creamy colours that are so pigment rich you could even skip the lippy undercoat gives a wet-look pout in seconds.'
These are available is a choice of 6 colours and cost £5.00.

Powder Puff is a great light pink shade.

The applicator is a doe foot which is my favourite type...it allows it to apply evenly.  The shade in the swatch looks a bit peachy but on the lips a nice 'my lips' colour.  The swatch make it look very opaque but its does apply sheer and is very build-able, non sticky and a great everyday colour.  I would really like to look at the other shades, I picked up Peaches for L so you will have a swatch soon.

All in all I think Look have done a fantastic job on the range and after playing on their website I could spend another £60+ (I already spent £30).  For the price everything is very pigmented and the packaging is lovely and sleek.  The choice of colours is also amazing especially in the nail polishes.

You can purchase Look Beauty exclusively from Superdrug, you can check out the store's here and you can check out the rest of the range and purchase from here.

Keep your eyes peeled for some reviews coming on the Nail Pops and Double Hit Lips.

Are you a fan of Look Beauty Range?  What are your favourite items?

Thanks

E.L.F Sweet Salmon

Today's post is on another great lip product from E.L.F.
Here is what E.L.F say about them,

'Looking for ultra shine without the shimmer? Glossy Gloss is here! Our high shine, pigmented Glossy Gloss delivers a beautiful sheen and a rich tint of color to your pout. Great for wearing alone or over your favorite e.l.f. Cosmetics lipstick, lip pencil, or any lip color for a vivid gloss effect. The Vitamin E infused formula provides intense hydration and moisture, for lip pucker perfection!'

I decided to get Sweet Salmon which is a pale pinky peach shade. The applicator is a brush again on this, I do prefer the doe applicators.

I love the colour as its just a great everyday colour, though it is very similar to a lot of my lipsticks and lipglosses...particularly 17 Beehive etc.

This is not too sticky on the lips, but does have a tacky feel on. Though I prefer E.L.F to MAC lipglosses as they are nowhere near as sticky as MAC. But I know E.L.F can be hit and miss with how sticky they are.

Are you a fan of E.L.F lipglosses?

These retails at £3.50 for 7g and a choice of 10 shades.

You can see our other E.L.F posts here.

MeMeMe Coral Collection

Hey,

L and myself were luckily enough to be sent some MeMeMe products to test out. I was sent the Best Seller Gift Set in Coral.
The set contains MeMeMe's Hero products including a Blush Me blush box, Nail Gloss and a Light Me Up Lipgloss. There are 4 shades to choose from in Rouge, Coral, Pink and Bronze. These retail at £15.50 and you can buy from MeMeMe.

Here's what MeMeMe say about the set,

'Create a tropical peachy glow with this gorgeous set featuring our best selling Blush Box in 'Coral', ‘Lustre’ Light Me Up Lipgloss and long lasting Nail Gloss in hot coral 'Spirited'.'

The Blusher is a great little box blush that contains a mirror and a brush.

The blush is very pigmented and is such a gorgeous coral shade, this would be perfect for the summer months!

It adds a great glow to my fair skin which I love. The only part I don't like is the brush I don't get on with using it. But I have never used the brushes that come with these box blushers.

The lipgloss in Lustre is a gorgeous which I would say is a sheer natural pink/coral gloss.

The gloss contains a mirror on one side, a doe wand applicator and a light in the lid to aid application. This has a non sticky texture and feels great on the lips.

This gloss has fitted into my collection perfectly. As you may have noticed it is one of my go to colours that I like to keep to hand for everyday use.

Last up is the nail polish in Spirited which is a pastel coral shade.

I have never tried a MeMeMe nail polish before and I am unsure why. I always think the shades look nice when I see them in my local Superdrug but I have never picked one up. After trying this colour I am off to take a look at the rest. Below you can see how the shade applied with two coats.

Its such a gorgeous colour!

L received the MeMeMe nail collection to try and will be posting some NOTDs soon.

Are you a MeMeMe fan?

Thanks

Sleek Peach Pout

Today's post is on Sleek Pout Polish in Peach Perfection.

The pout polishes come is around 10 shades for £4.50 ish. I decided on Peach Perfection as it looked lovely in the tube, such a creamy peach shade.

As Sleek say,
'A tinted lip conditioning balm formulated with natural oils such as Almond oil, Shea butter, avocado extract, Vitamin A, C and E to help condition lips and lock on moisture.'
It certainly is moisturising and feels lovely on. Though is does have an old taste...I know it's not for eating but you always get some on your tongue etc.

From the swatch below it looks pinky,

But it is more peach in the tub.

On the lips it comes out very pale and offers a good nude lip.

This is my first sleek pout polish and I currently would not pick up another one. I like the colour but it is nothing amazing and I do have similar shades. It does leave my lips soft but I don't like the taste. I also don't like applying it, as you would usually have to apply with your finger. If you want to do it when and out you always end up with the excess on your finger afterwards.

Are you a fan?

Thanks

NYX lipglosses Love's Anthem

I will warn you first that this post is picture heavy!

Here is the post on the NYX lipgloss set that I purchased the other day in TK Maxx, as you can see it retailed at £9.99 for 10 glosses.
I have never tried anything from NYX so when I saw this I had to give them a go. I did think a couple of shades would not be my cup of tea.

But the 5 shades on the right in the image above are my sort of colours. You can see below a swatch of each shade. Even though I was drawn to the paler shades on the right I have to say the swatches 1-3 looked great!

I have swatched each of the colours on the lips in the images below, these are in reverse order of the swatches above.

When I first started to try these out I noted that they smelled pleasant. Nothing overpowering just a pleasant, slightly fruity aroma. All except 5 & 6 applied nicely, these two were not great to apply at all. But I noticed straight away that these are definitely tacky once on your lips....I hate sticky or even tacky lipglosses. You should not have to be concerned that your hair may stick to your lips!..but I am with these on. I am going to persist a little bit with them, but this maybe a deal breaker for me.

Now for the lip swatches, the first couple mostly look the same on but in person they did appear different. I really love the first 5 colours on.

Now for the odd one from the bunch. Its an odd colour, smell and applied rubbish.

Now I was surprised that i really liked the next two colours on, they really aren't my normal choice of gloss at all.

Are you a fan of NYX lipglosses? If you have tried other NYX glosses, are they normally tacky?

Thank You

Lip Lusts

Hey,

As you know we love a bargain on here and I have found another great buy! Though this time its thanks to the lovely Makeup Savvy, I had spotted that she mentioned how great the Beauty UK lipglosses were so I had take take a look. I ended up getting Sweet Sixteen, which is a lovely peachy pink shade.
What Beauty UK say,
'Lips, lips, oh luscious lips! Richly pigmented and lightly scented gloss to bring a new dimension to any look. Flavoured with papaya, mint or strawberry and applied with a soft and svelte applicator, everything about this gloss leaves you feeling all warm inside!

We decided on "superfantabulous" as the best overall description :-)'

These retail at around £2.99 and come in 11 shades.

I love the applicator as it allows the gloss to glide on smoothly.
And it smells delicious, not overpowering though just yummy.

My worst nightmare with a gloss is that it will be sticky, but alas this is not the case with this beauty. You don't have to worry about your hair getting stuck once you have applied this gloss.
I love the colour on, as you can see though it does look similar to every other lipgloss I own....I really need to branch out in my lip shades. This is another great buy from Beauty UK, you can see reviews here on other Beauty UK items.

I will be taking a look at some more colours.

Are you a Beauty UK fan?

Thanks
