How cute are these??

These have been up on my instragram a few times in the last few weeks as I'm seriously living in them. I love a cute comfy slipper and these little beauts are so cute.

£6 from the George at Asda. Such a bargain for some gorgeous little footwear.

I've actually got a few other George purchases to share over the next week or so.

George Nail Polish

Today's new post is on some new polishes from George (Asda).

The shades are Cupcake, Berry Smoothie and Spaceman.

Here is what Asda say about the new shades,

'Stand out from the crowd with Molten Metal nail varnishes from Asda. Sweep this high pigment polish over your nails for acreamy metallic finish and high gloss appearance. In addition, check out the 14 new shades of George’s Quick Dry nail polish range for a fun and flirty finish. Colours include Berry Smoothie, Cupcake and Giggle.'

Berry Smoothie is a great mauve brown shade which I know many will love! This will be a great work day shade for me.

I was exoecting Cupcake to be more pink but this has a coral base to it. It's an interesting shade but it does not suit my skin tone.

Spaceman is from the Molten Metal nail polishes. I don't tend to wear this sort of shade but it really does have that metal finish. No matter what I did you seem to get that brush effect finish to it. If you are looking to try a metal finish nail polish than these would be worth a look.

The other shades of the Molten Nail Vanish are Spaceman, Chalice, Pirate, Enchanted and Party Animal all pictured.




The Quick Dry Nail polishes are £1.75 and the New Molten Nail polishes are £2.75. For the price George nail polishes are well worth a look, they apply well and easily. All the above were 2 coats and the finish is great. I will be getting a lot of use out of Berry Smoothie it's lovely.

Love Rat

Firstly Thank You for all the birthday wishes both myself and L had a great day!

Now just a quick NOTD for you, I have become obsessed with coral shades at the moment and managed to find this one in George at Asda for £1.75. As I have previously mentioned on her I am a great fan of George nail polishes as they are a bargain price and I also get ok wear out of them...though some are hit and miss! You can see our previous posts on the colours we have here.

Today's colour is Love Rat (I also like the names they come up with though I have no idea how they relate to the products!).
Its a great gorgeous shade and though I have used 2 coats I could have just got away with one!

Wedding Nails and mixing polishes

I've been having some difficult deciding on a polish to wear on the big day (which is only in 11 days times - freaking out a little now!!)

I'm not a big fan of pale polishes - I've not yet found a shade that suits my skin tone and of course there is always the worry that it may look slightly like pink tipex on!

So after hearing that Kate had a mix of two colours for the Royal Wedding I thought I would try it out with a pale pinky/peach and pale pink I have (don't like either really on their own)

So I went with George No Excuses and Essie Yes we can Pink!

Now disappointingly the nerves have kicked in and my nails have paid the price!!

I used to regularly bite my nails but have stopped but the added stress has made me mess with them again - luckily I haven't bite them but they are so not at there best right now to photograph. So sorry just a thumb pic!

I've two coats of each - George, Essie, George, Essie.

I actually really like the combo - its pale and pinkie but not too Barbie or too Tipex.

Eventually I think I have a winner - only thing I'm going to change is the amount, I think I'm going to go with two coats of George followed by one coat of Essie

Shipwrecked with a bit of Witchcraft thrown in....

Today I have another NOTD featuring George at Asda nail polishes. I have recently become more and more addicted to nail polish and George has become one of my obsessions as well. The polishes are priced at £1.75, which is a great price, their colour choice is fantastic, I like how they apply and how they last. They may not be the greatest ever polish in the world but I find them value for money. I don't mind a little tip wear when I have only paid £1.75, though I mainly tend to wear my George colours on my toes.

Today's NOTD features a new shade called Shipwrecked, a lovely turquoise/green shade, and Whitchcraft, a grey shade.

Out of the two shipwrecked in my favourite, I don't actually seem to own a shade like this, the closet I have a shimmery. I can't wait to use this more in the summer. I have applied 2 coats of each and as with my other George colours I am happy with the finish.

As I mentioned George nail polishes have become a bit of an obsession for me at the moment. I can't help but have a noisy at the make-up stand when I pop into my local Asda. They have some lovely bright shades available at the moment as well that I want to pick up. The other colours I have at the moment are Frost Bite, Venom, Mysterious, Deceit, Shock and Twister.

NOTD - George Frost Bite

Well today's NOTD really doesn't have a name that goes well with the weather we have been having lately but I wanted to show you this gorgeous shade!



The NOTD features another great George nail varnish, you can see our other NOTD featuring George here.



Both myself and L are fan's of George's nail varnishes, so when I saw Frost Bite reduced down to a £1 I jumped at the chance to try it out.

As I have found with these polishes they maybe cheap but I like how they apply. The above nail was done with two coats to get a good opaque finish. The shade itself is a light blue with a hint of violet and I think it's a lovely pastel shade for spring.


There are a lot more shades from this range that I would like to try and though they seem to have now gone up to £1.75 they are value for money.

NOTD George Venom - Matt nail polish

Hey, I know I am really late onto this but I wanted to do a little post to show off another George nail polish I have picked up. You can check out our posts on some other colours here , here and here. Today's polish in no 58 in Venom, which is from there matt collection, from what I remember these have now gone up to £1.75 and are available Asda. Now I have so far not been tempted by matt nail polish but I saw a post on a NOTD on Beauty and the Blog. She did a great french manicure involving a matt black polish base with normal polish. So after seeing this post I decided to look for one and spotted Venom in Asda. I really like the polish and can't wait to give it a go as a french manicure style. A couple of weeks ago when I did a post on some new make-up at George I noticed that they have also launched some more matt colours, a couple of them are below in pink and red. Are you a fan of matt nails? Any more George colour I should look at? Thanks

Some of My Current Favourite Blushers...

Hey, How is everyone? Today's post is on some of my current favourite blushers (all are also recent additions). I used to wear my Benetint most days with a bit of highlighter or bronzer but at the moment I have been more tempted to use powder blusher. So with making this change to my normal makeup I wanted to introduce you to the current ones that I am using. First up is Sleek's blusher is Pomegranate, I have wanted this for so long yet never got around to ordering it offline (I could never get it in my superdrug). But I was fortunate that Welsh Beauty Blog had it for sale on her blog sale so I got it for £3 you can check out the rest of the colours here. This blusher is very pigmented and is such a rich colour, I have to be careful when applying it or I can easily go overboard. Once applied it's a gorgeous shade that has a golden shimmer as well.

Second up is more of a bronzer/highlighter but I love the colour I wanted to show you guys! It's from George at Asda and I picked it up on a recent trip, you can check out the other items I got here. With being very pale this has been giving me the right amount of glow that I need! Third up is a new purchase that I got in my Mini ELF Haul . It's a studio blusher in Merry Berry which retail at £3.50 and you can see here. I was worried that this was similar to the Sleek one but they are quite different. ELF is a lot more plum toned, and not as pigmented as I hoped but it actually works better as it is on my skin tone.

Fourth is my Benefit Bella Bamba Blusher, which retails at £23.50 and you can see more on Bella Bamba here. This is a well pigmented pink/coral shade with a light gold shimmer - prefect for summer! Next up is Collection 2000 Blusher is No4 Trouble which retails at £2.99, as I mentioned in my previous post here this shade is not very pigmented, yet it does have a nice warming tone for my skin and has become a firm fave.

Lastly we have Boots 17 Sweet Kiss from the Spring Collection at 17 this retails at £3.49, you can see my post here on the Spring Collection at 17. This is such a gorgeous pink and again suits my skin tone great! Have you got a current favourite blusher? Any suggestions of new ones to try or look out for?

New George at Asda Make-up

Well guess what I spotted when I was doing my food shopping on Saturday morning....some new lines in the George Make-up range. My first though was to have a look and see what additions they had made but all I could notice was that they had slightly ripped off Benefit Cosmetics.
The new items that I could see first were two new shades to there Matt Finish nail polish, in a pink and red. I am still not a convert to matt nail polish, so far I have a black but haven't really used it.

Then I spotted that they had released a tinted moisturiser which reminded me of You Rebel (especially the packaging shape). They have also released two cheek tints (dupes of Posietint and Benetint) and a highlighter (High Beam)

Then I noticed the lipglosses, which are dupe for the Benefit lip glosses, these retail at £3.75 and come in 11 shades. I actually picked up two shades in Grrrrr and Pucker Up. Both apply well, are pigmented and none sticky. But the first thing I noticed is that Pucker Up (bottom pic) is a complete dupe for Benefit Nookie Nookie.

I really like the lipglosses and at the price I would be tempted to pick some more up! My only gripe is the smell, why do cheap beauty products need to smell ELF has managed to make lipglosses that don't smell for £3 why can't everyone else!

All of these items were on promotion when I saw them and though I have never been tempted by another cheek tint (I am loyal to me Benetint). For the the fact these are retailing at £2.50 I am tempted, even just to have as some spares.

Has anyone spotted these dupes in Asda? Has anyone tried them yet?

George Nail polish in Mysterious (42) NOTD

Hey,

I had to do a quick post on another gorgeous bargain from George at Asda. On this blog we are both massive fans of high street make-up brand and when I spotted that they had their nail varnishes back down to a £1 I decided to pick up Mysterious.

I think these nail varnishes are quick value for money, they normally retail at £1.50 but occasionally they put them on offer for £1. Even at £1.50 these are great value for money and are much better than the MUA range at Superdrug. We have mentioned some other colours here and here.

This time it was Mysterious that caught my eye, its a great violet shade that has a lovely shimmer to it (it has very tiny pieces of glitter that help to make it sparkle).
I loved how you could pick up turquoise, silver and blue in the bottle and it didn't disapooint was applied, below is taken with 2 coats.

For me this is another great beautiful nail varnish and a total bargain!

George Under Eye Concealer

My name is L and I'm addicted to concealer! hahaha

I've previously posted that I regularly use a number of different concealers in the morning and I own around a good 10 (or possibly more - I lose count) different ones at the moment. Its bad!

And too top this off I've recently added a new one to the growing collection - George Under Eye Concealer.

Now I do suffering from really bad dark circles, so I have been looking for something with 'light reflecting' properties. I know some people would say try Touche Eclat, but I'm just not sure. I have tried it in the past and again more recently, but I'm still not entirely convinced and as usual I would like to try to find a cheaper alternative.

So this looked great and was only around £3.00 - although this may have been an offer, as some products had been re-released in new (very cute!) boxes.

Right time for some scary pics!

The top picture is me without any concealer and the second is with it on. Now annoyingly despite looking in the mirror and seeing horrible dark circles, they didn't really show up all that badly in the picture - obviously not great for the comparison. However even with the not to great picture I don't think this has done all that much.

I've also shown below, my eye with the concealer and one without.

I think in this one you can notice more of a difference. I would say as well that I'm not wearing any other makeup in the picture though - just the George concealer under my right eye (left hand side in pic).

(Oh and I'd like to add, how pale are my lashes??? So white!)

On a plus side it blends in quite nicely and you only need a little, as it has quite a watery consistency.

I think for me this isn't a concealer I could happily use on its own. I'm so paranoid about my dark circles! My daily routine so far, has involved using Benefit Erase Paste and then adding this into the inside corner of my eye and slightly down the inside of my eye - as below.

So far this is working for me and really helps to brighten up my eye.

If your not as paranoid as me, this may work well on it's own for you.

NOTD George Deceit

I’m not really one for shimmery, glittery makeup. The same goes for Nail varnish as well. I’m not really sure what it is but I’m just not keen. So today's NOTD is a bit of a change for me.

For my Secret Santa gift this year in work, one of the lovely girls got me two George polishes along with the Goddess Experience! I was beyond thrilled.

One of the polishes was N0.44 Deceit – which I would say was a dark grey with a hint blue, silver and purple shimmer to it. It looks gorgeous on without being to in your face glitter.

It took 2 coats to get a nice streak free finish.

I really like the George Polishes, they have a great selection of colours and are so reasonable for £1.50.

George at ASDA Bargain Nail Varnish

This is just a quick post on a bargain I picked up while shopping in ASDA the other day. Now I love to have a nosey round the George clothing, jewellery and shoes in the Milton Keynes store, but I don't normally look at George make-up. It just seems to look like it is aimed at teenagers not someone who's in their late 20's, so it's put me off until now!!

Now what caught my eye was that these nail polishes were only cheap normally £1.50 but currently on offer or a £1.00. The colour choice in the polishes was great but these two caught my eye.

Now I am currently on the hunt for a red polish and there is a future post coming on this! The one I got from George though is No.53 Shock which I have to say I love!!

It is nice deepish red with metallic finish, I used two coats for the swatch and it did go on really easy. Sorry the picture is a bit rubbish I am still using iphone as camera is not fixed yet. I think this shade is actually winning in my hunt for a red as I actually like it on my fingers and not just my toe nails, and for a £1 it is great!

The second colour I got was No.60 Twister, now I got this colour as it said it was a Matt Finish. So far I have not tried a Matt nail polish and I haven't really been tempted yet either but again for the price I thought, why not.

The colour is a great metallic slightly two tone shade and I have used two coats again with this one. I have to say I am disappointed with this one, when I went to do the first coat it started going funny before I had finished, even with a second coat I think it looks messy! The finish was much more Matt then the picture show, as the polish is metallic it looks shiny in the picture. I am going to give this another go but for now I am still not convinced by Matt Finish nail polish.

I am going back to check out some more colours but only in the Nail polishes as I do think some of the rest off the collection looked cheap. Let me know what you think? and if you have tried a Matt polish or any other products from the George range?
