Collection 2000 Colour Match Foundation in Ivory 1

Today's post is on Collection 2000 Colour Match foundation in Ivory 1.

Here is what they say,

'- Contains a unique skin tone technology that adapts to the skin's natural tone to help deliver a subtle, flawless look that lasts.

- SPF20 to keep you safe against those harmful UV rays.

- Available in 6 shades, whether you want to be a bronzed beauty or a porcelain doll.'

The consistency is quite runny and the coverage is Light/medium. The foundation applies well and but is more suited to oily\combination skin. I have a tendency to get a dry nose and this did make it appear worse. Once applied the finish is dewy. This ticks a lot of boxes for me but still isn't my perfect foundation.

For the range being called colour match I wasn't expecting a great choice of shades but 6 isn't bad. But these 6 fall across a small spectrum of colours which is a shame. I ended up with Ivory but I might look at Light as well.

The colour is very dark against my skin tone.

But it does blend in well which was a bit if a surprise as its looks so dark above. But unfortunately it is still too dark for me. But below you can see the dewy finish.

Here is a swatch compared to my other foundations, as you can see its very dark considering it's called light. Though as you can see above its blends well but once on its totally the wrong shade for me. Maybe if the sun ever comes out I might just get away with it.

If this foundation as a better skin match I think I would be very happy but unfortunately it's not the case. But if you are not too pale or dark certainly take a look as its value for money. It would also make a nice summer foundation as it leaves your skin looking dewy and the coverage is light. But unfortunately mine hasn't been used.

At the moment I've become obsessed with blushers but I am trying not to spend much money! Well you can imagine how happy I was when I spotted this little lovely in Boots. Its called a Shimmer Shade and its in Blushalious, you can also get Way-to-Glow, these retail at £3.99.

So Blushalious comes in 4 gorgeous pink to coral shades that you wear on them own or blend together.

Above are the swatches of each of them on their own my favourites are 2 and 3 and below is a swatch of them mixed together. I like the way that you have two that have more shimmer (1 + 3) and two with less (2 + 4).

I love how it gives me a nice glow, after trying this one out I really want to pick up Way-to-Glow. For £3.99 this is a lovely product and another great item from Collection 2000. At the moment Collection 2000 seem on a roll with their new products and especially at the time when people are trying to cut back its great to be able to find these highstreet bargains!

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair

I had actually kept spotting this across numerous blogs I follow and thought for the price I would give it a go. This retails at £4.99 and comes in 4 shades Fair, Light, Medium, Dark. you can see more about this on at Collection 2000 I picked mine up in Fair 01 and as you can see mine is quite well used.
What Collection 2000 say about this:
'Ultimate wear concealer conceals flaws, imperfections and blemishes for up to 16 hours. Oil free. Transfer proof and water resistant fir full and long lasting coverage. Provides beautiful, shine-free, blemish-free skin for every waking hour.'

I have to say that for a budget highstreet concealer this is worth the hype! The positives for me are:

• Price - £4.99 is great.


• Coverage - I mainly use this under my eyes and it covers my horrible dark circles.


• Applicator - I like the little applicator as I can just swipe and then blend under my eye.


• Staying Power - I don't feel it lasts 16 hours but I get a good 10 hours out of it.

The Negatives:

• Choice of shades - though fair is the perfect shade for me, there is only 4 shades to choose between not great!


• I didn't like how all the writing came off the packaging.

I have enjoyed using this product and its nice to get a concealer that isn't orange toned on me. Finding the right shade of concealer for me is as hard as finding the right shade of foundation - but this is good if not an exact match. Though it has a good coverage it doesn't go all clumpy or stick to any dry patches too badly.

I'd certainly buy this again. Have you tried it? Whats your favourite highstreet concealer?

LOTD - Autumn Sunset

Don't you love it when you find a product that you really like and its a BARGAIN! That one of my favourite things. Todays bargain is a lovely lippy from Boots Natural Collection.

The lippy in question is from the Sheer Natural Range called Autumn Sunset and retails at £1.99, you can see more about them at www.boots.com .

It creates a 'my lips but better look' which I love, it applies and feels like a lip balm on the lips which is great. As the name of the lipstick suggests this is a sheer finish sso the colour pay-off isn't much but its enough for me. I like a lippy I can just apply whenever and wherever I want!

The shade itself is a nude pinky/brown and does have a tiny, tiny amount of gold shimmer to it. This has become a handbag stable for me.

Collection 2000 Blush in Bashful

This was very much an impulse purchase, but I just loved the colour.

I tend to stick with very pinkie shades, but thought that this would be great as it was slightly darker toned.

The packaging is exactly what I'd expect for only £2.99, but I was really impressed with the lovely detailing,

I wouldn't say its highly pigmented, but it does give a good colour in the end. I like the subtle colour and shimmer it gives. Also as it's not just my usual bright pink colour I also get a warmer look for summer. I wouldn't say I'm blown away with the blush but its very nice. I really could do with finding something similar but just a bit more pigmented.

Some of My Current Favourite Blushers...

Hey, How is everyone? Today's post is on some of my current favourite blushers (all are also recent additions). I used to wear my Benetint most days with a bit of highlighter or bronzer but at the moment I have been more tempted to use powder blusher. So with making this change to my normal makeup I wanted to introduce you to the current ones that I am using. First up is Sleek's blusher is Pomegranate, I have wanted this for so long yet never got around to ordering it offline (I could never get it in my superdrug). But I was fortunate that Welsh Beauty Blog had it for sale on her blog sale so I got it for £3 you can check out the rest of the colours here. This blusher is very pigmented and is such a rich colour, I have to be careful when applying it or I can easily go overboard. Once applied it's a gorgeous shade that has a golden shimmer as well.

Second up is more of a bronzer/highlighter but I love the colour I wanted to show you guys! It's from George at Asda and I picked it up on a recent trip, you can check out the other items I got here. With being very pale this has been giving me the right amount of glow that I need! Third up is a new purchase that I got in my Mini ELF Haul . It's a studio blusher in Merry Berry which retail at £3.50 and you can see here. I was worried that this was similar to the Sleek one but they are quite different. ELF is a lot more plum toned, and not as pigmented as I hoped but it actually works better as it is on my skin tone.

Fourth is my Benefit Bella Bamba Blusher, which retails at £23.50 and you can see more on Bella Bamba here. This is a well pigmented pink/coral shade with a light gold shimmer - prefect for summer! Next up is Collection 2000 Blusher is No4 Trouble which retails at £2.99, as I mentioned in my previous post here this shade is not very pigmented, yet it does have a nice warming tone for my skin and has become a firm fave.

Lastly we have Boots 17 Sweet Kiss from the Spring Collection at 17 this retails at £3.49, you can see my post here on the Spring Collection at 17. This is such a gorgeous pink and again suits my skin tone great! Have you got a current favourite blusher? Any suggestions of new ones to try or look out for?

NOTD Collection 2000 Swizzles

With British Summer Time now here and the lovely weather we've been having (although its dark and miserable this morning in the North West), I thought I'd go for something bright and cheerful.

I this up in Superdrug last week. They had an offer where if you spent £4.00 you could get a free Hot Looks polish.

I actually went Swizzles, as it went perfectly with my dress for my Hen Do last Saturday.

I got a good opaque finish with 3 coats and was really happy with the glossy finish I ended up with.

The colour looked great on and I got loads of compliments - nice little extra bonus.

Ok so this is from the Hot Looks range with is fast drying and it really does dry quickly. When I use this range I hardly seem to smudge the polish once its on. My only let down was that after putting it on at 10am, it already seemed to have tip wear by about 7pm and quite a few chips by the next day. Not good! Even though the colour is gorgeous, I wouldn't really pick up anymore unless i spent over £4 again. I just think there are better cheap polishes out there.

Mini Natural Collection haul

I am a great fan of high street make-up brands and recently across Boots and Superdrug a lot of these brands are running offers such as 3 for 2 or 3 for £5 etc. When I recently popped into my local Boots they were doing a 3 for £5 on Natural Collection.

I'd had my eye on a Natural Collection eyeshadow in Heather which I had recently seen on another blog so I decided to get two other bits from the range.
I picked myself up Heather eyeshadow, Antique Coral nail varnish and Moisture Shine lipstick in Rose Petal.

I particularly like the Solo Eyeshadow from Natural Collection, the retail at £1.79 which is a bargain and in an array of natural easy to wear shades. My favorite from the range is called Willow and is a great base eye colour. I was quite keen on Heather after I saw it on another blog and it seemed liked a great dusky mauve colour which I wanted to try.The eyeshadow is lovely but it is no where near as pigmented as my others from the range so I have found that a little disappointing. I have since popped in and swiped some more of the darker shades and to me personally I think that paler shades are more pigmented than the darker ones. I will get use out of the product but i wouldn't repurchase this colour again.

The 2nd item I settled on was a lipstick from the Moisture Shine range which retail at £1.99. This lipstick glides on nice and feels great on my lips, I really prefer lipsticks that are moisturising and a bit more like a lip balm feel. This does tick a lot of boes for me but I am not completely sure about the colour on me, so I really don't feel this will get used that much. But I will take a look at some of the other shades.

Lastly I decided to grab a nail varnish, I choose Antique Coral as i wanted something to perk me up and this seemed to fit the bill. Natural collection nail polishes retail at £1.89 and can be seen here.

This is such a vibrant colour coral shade, and it contains tiny tiny blue flecks in the varnish (you can see if you look closely at the image). I applied 2 coats here and it applied nicely which was a ice surprise for such a cheap nail polish. I can't say I think much of the bottle but it is only small so it fits into my storage nicely. This nail varnish will be a nice summer colour, we just need the weather to cheer up now!

Mini Collection 2000 Haul

So I'm not sure if your like me, but when I walk past Collection 2000 I always think it looks cheap and especially in Superdrug everything thing except the testers have been opened and used.....why!!! It's a brand that always takes me back to being at school and just starting to wear make-up....definitely cheap and cheerful.

Well in Bletchley I have a small Superdrug that when I've been in there it always quiet and for once not everything has been used. So on my way back from Baby Gym with the little one I popped in for a look around and was drawn to the foundation.

Now L and myself both struggle with foundations as we are quite pale. L has recently got herself a Bobby Brown foundation to try in Alabaster and I have been using No7 Lift & Luminate in Alabaster. But it is very hard to find brands that do such a light shade, MAC don't even do one light enough for us :(. But I noticed that they did a Vanilla 01 shade that seems lighter than their Ivory 02, which I can't wear, I look orange. So for £3.99 I though hey why not!

Now as you can see I didn't just get a foundation I ended up with a blusher and a lipstick.

The foundation I got was Naturally Radiant in Vanilla and it was £3.99. I also really struggle with foundation as I really only like a light coverage so I end up just using tinted moisturiser a lot of the time or mixing my foundation with moisturiser. I do love my No7 Lift & Luminate but I do find it a bit heavy on my face. This foundation is suppose to give a light to medium coverage, and leave you skin enriched and illuminated, it has SPF15 and comes in 6 shades. I have taken some pictures on my hand with and without the flash.

I do like it so far as it s light and I like how my skin looks with it on, but I know what I'll end up doing is mixing it with my No7 foundation (I always find I do this), but I will see how I get on! The packaging is nothing to shout home about but for the price I don't mind.


The next item I got was a lipstick from the Crystal Gloss lipsticks, I am the same about lippy as foundation I don't like anything too heavy, and I love a bit of sparkle so I was drawn to these. They are suppose to be shimmering colours with light reflecting particular, which I assume they mean the glitter in it, and they come in 9 shades. Mine is in Latte Crystal, which on the Collection 2000 website is the darkest shade, but these are not highly pigmented as you can see below. Oddly as it is called Latte, the shade is actually a bit more of a wine/plum/brown colour on my lips.

I don't normally wear dark colours at all but I really have been trying to find some I would wear, and for me this is dark but I like it on. Also as it has a glossier finish I am much happier using it, it really feels nice on and moisturises my lips a bit to. It is a bit sparkly on which I know is not to everyone tastes, but i would buy this again as it was £2.49 but I have to say I did not like any of the other shades. Also the packaging is quite alright on this lipstick, you wouldn't think it was from Collection 2000 at all, so another bonus.

Third up was a blusher, which I totally do not need at all I currently use Benetint but sometimes I like to use a blusher but i currently have 3 others to use! But I liked the colour of this one which is no4 Trouble (crap name), which is a lovely shade.

As it wasn't as pink as the other blusher I own I thought it would make a nice addition to my collection for £2.99 and it is more of a warming tone on, prefect for winter! But as with the foundation the packaging is not great and it is a bit small for a blusher, I've got eye shadows bigger!

Update on Collection 2000 Eyeliner Pen

**UPDATE**
Futher update on eye liner from this morning, my camera is broke at the moment so I can only take pictures with theflash on so it doesn't come out as well in the picture. But I do still have a faint blue make along each eye :(

Well I have just had a nightmare and a half trying to remove my Collection 2000 felt tip eyeliner off my eyes, I reviewed it earlier today. I am now going to sleep with red eyes!

The colour of this was fantastic, it was easy to use and did really last well! But when I came to remove it this evening it wouldn't come off. I used Johnsons eye make-up remover first, then water, then clinique eye make-up remover, water, then simple eye make-up remover, and johnsons baby lotion, but it was still there!

I had to resort to use a damp cotton pad with a bit of Pears soap (it seems to remove everything!) and this finally worked!

Loved most things about the product but seriously you can't dye people skin!

Felt Tip Eyeliners

I popped into good old Bletchley yesterday for a bit of a shop and ended up in our small but good Superdrug, it really does have a good choice of make-up to look at. I wasn't really looking for any in particular but ended up getting a Collection 2000 Extreme 24 hour Felt Tip Liner in blue, . I had been on the hunt for a blue one as I had previously got one from Eyeko that was Navy but I just didn't like the colour on me. I really do find these felt tip pen version far easier to use, I have not been using eyeliner for long and I am rubbish at it!



So as I wanted to show you my new purchase I thought I would show you the other Felt Tip Liners I have.

Now I have 2 of these liners from Eyeko, I brought these a while back for £5 and Eyeko currently have them on offer for 3 for 2 here. The colours I have a navy and purple, the navy has not come out well in the photo sorry.


My favourite of the two is the purple, it is such a great colour of and lasts soooo well on my eyes. The navy is nice but or me the colour just does not work as well as the purple on my eyes. Eyeko state that these should be 'smudge-proof, fade-proof and long lasting' and I completely agree. Also they are a good price for £5 and currently come in Black, Navy and Purple.

The next three I have are from E.L.F, now these are a complete bargain for £1.50 and are available in Coffee, Black, Midnight, Ash and Plum and you can see them here, I have the Plum, Ash and Coffee.

I have to say the Coffee is the most used of mine, I love it on! sometimes the Ash and Plum are a bit tooo dark for me to use everyday. Theses don't go on as well as the Eyeko liners and don't seem to last very well, I am already on my third coffee one. But for £1.50 I am not going to complain too much about them as I will keep buying them, until I can find another brown I like. I have just order two new brands to try so will update you soon.

And now onto the new one I got from Collection 2000 Extreme 24Hr Liner, I have got the blue and they also come in Teal, Purple and Black.

I love this colour sooooo much and is more the blue I have been looking for. They are intensive colours and are suppose to stay put all day, but that's what I'm worried about when I tried this out on my arm for the swatch it was very difficult to get off even with eye make-up remover. I then put on my eye's and I had the same problem taking it off. So maybe they have a bit too much staying power! But might look to get the Teal still as such a lovely colour!
