Marie Claire Ciate Freebies

With the July Issue of Marie Claire (out 31 May 2012) you have a choice of 3 lovely Ciate polishes free - a lilac (Purple Sherbet), a bright pink (Jelly Bean) or my old favourite of a dirty/pink/lilac/nude colour (really need to find a new description!).

So no surprise here really - I went with the nude shade, namely Bon Bon.

It's the perfect summer shade for me such a lovely daytime nude that's perfect for work.  It's the type of shade that works well with everything.  It applies easily and is opaque within 2 coats.

The polishes retail at £9.00 each and the magazine cost £3.70.

Instyle Magaizne Nails Inc Freebie

We haven't done a Magazine heads up in a while, but after being told by my friend at work (Nicole) that she was disappointed I hadn't told her about this one so I thought I would do a post!

If you pick up this Months Issue of Instyle Magazine (June 2012) for £3.80 you get a choice of 3 full sized Nails Inc polishes (worth £11 each).  The choice of colour's are Bluebell, Peach Sorbet and Power Pink, these are limited edition and exclusively designed for Instyle Magazine.

So far I have manged to get Peach Sorbet and Bluebell...swatches are below.
Peach Sorbet
These are both great shades, I have applied two coats above and love the finish.  Peach Sorbet is a lovely light peach and would make a great nude base colour...I have a glitter shade waiting!  Bluebell reminds me very much of Beth's Blue from Models Own.  They are both great spring shades and I am tempted to pick up spares.  I currently haven't tried them on my nails so cannot comment on how well they wear.

These are certainly worth a look and I am now after Power Pink as it looks gorgeous!!

Have you picked these up yet?

Thanks

17 Miami Pop and a Freebie

17 have launched their new Summer collection called Miami Pop, though its a shame that the weather has gone a bit rubbish!! With the launch of the new collection 17 are also running an offer that if you buy 2 items from the 17 range you get a free gift containing 2 nail polishes, a nail file and some nail art stickers. So not to miss out I took a look at the new range and decided to grab 2 items so I could get the free gift.

First I'll show you the gift,

It comes in a lovely little gift bag and everything was wrapped up neat in the tissue paper. The nails polishes are a red and a pink, I applied two coats for the swatches the pink could have done with another coat really! Neither are bad though considering they are free. I am not sure I will use anything else from the gift set, definitely aimed for 17's teenage customers!

Out of the two the pink is my favourite as it is much more wearable for my skin tone.

To be able to get this gift I got myself the new Miami Pop Bronzer and 17 Summer nail polish in Palm Beach. The bronzer is £4.99 and comes in the very brighter packaging for this range. Its a marble baked design of two golden shades.

I have to say it actually looks quite garish in the packaging when I opened it up at home. It is also very shimmery, you would need to apply it quite sparingly as it may look at bit over the top! I think you can see that from the swatch above, I just don't feel it suits my fair skin it would be much better for a darker skin tone! I actually wished I 'd got the lipgloss instead.

I also picked up a nail polish, there was a choice of two Down Town (a juicy bright orange) and Palm Beach ( a bright pink). I settled on Palm beach and I love it, it was £2.99.

Its a such a great pink colour, bright and fun - brilliant for the summer.

Overall I like the fun packaging - though I know many won't as it could be perceived to look cheap and a little tacky. I feel the bronzer is suited to a darker skin tone than mine. But the nail polishes seem like a nice investment for the summer and I would be interested to try the lipgloss.

Have you been tempted by the fun, funky and bright Miami Pop? Let me know what you think of the range! Also send any links of swatches of the other item.

Thanks

Dove and Nails Inc

Hey,

Just an FYI for you all, I know you've probably already seen this around the blogosphere! But Dove are currently running an offer with Nails Inc, if you purchase any two Dove Deodorants (Roll On RRP £2.24, Aerosol RRP £3.20). You can choose either Havana (creamy pale pink) or Copacabana (vibrant coral) as a freebie (these are worth £11). This offer is running the 15th June to the 12th July at Boots!

Not to miss out on a freebie I popped along to my local Boots today and treated myself to Copacabana.
It is such a bright summer shade and I only applied one coat for the swatch below - I love a one coat polish.

Will you be tempted? What shade do you fancy?

Thanks

Magazine Goodies

As you have probably seen around the blogosphere there are a lot of magazine freebies at the moment, we have already shown you Glamour and Red. We just wanted to give you a heads up on a couple of other Magazine offers that are around at the moment.

  • July Issue of Harper's Bazaar come's with a Leighton Denny nails polish worth £11. The colour choice are Viva La Diva (Red), Do Me a Flavour (Orange), Supermodel (Griege). The Magazine retails at £4.20 but as the nail polish is worth £11, its certainly worth a look.

  • July issue of Marie Claire come's with either a Inika Eye Pencil or Inika Mineral Eyeshadow worth around £22.50 each, Marie Claire retails at around £4. I am after the eyeshadow today! Marie Claire are also running a competition to send in your best Smokey eye looks on their website, see here.

  • Instyle Magazine are offering readers a £5 The Body Shop Gift Card, Instyle is £2 at the moment as well so this is a bargain!

Let us know if you have spotted anymore offers!

Magazine Freebie's...

This month there seems too be two good Magazine Freebie's you can get a choice of 3 colours of Nails Inc with Instyle magazine and a free The Body Shop Body Butter with Marie Claire.

I have picked up Intsyle magazine to get the Nails Inc Colours, the shades available are Fashion Fawn, Orange Candy and Electric Teal. The magazine retails at £3.75 I think and I have ended up getting two of them so far as you get full size nail varnishes that normally retails at £11. I have got Electric Teal and Fashion Fawn, I wasn't that tempted with Candy Orange (it's a bit bright for me). You also get a 20% off voucher off online purchases included in the magazine so I am tempted to look to get an actual Nails Inc shade as well.

I have used two coats for above and I have to say these applied well and I really like both shades - particularly Fashion Fawn.

After seeing Liloo post on Fashion Fawn I decided to take a look at my other brown/taupe/beige colours. Considering this was never a colour I though I liked, I do have quite a few shade.

I have Barry M Mushroom, Nails Inc Jermyn Street, No 7 Beanie, Nails Inc Fashion Fawn, Nails Inc Caramel, 17 Forever, Nails Inc London and E.L.F Desert Haze (I also forgot to photograph Topshop Big Smoke)
The closet shade to Fashion Fawn is Barry M Mushroom or Nails Inc Jermyn Street but Topshop Big Smoke is also quite similar.

Have you picked up your Nails Inc Freebie? What Nails Inc colour should I get with the 20% voucher?

Thanks

Magazine Freebies Reviews and upcoming freebies in Glamour

Ok so over the summer, a lot of the mags offer free gifts. I don't usually pick up many, as I'm just not that impressed. This year however was a different story, probably due to the fact I was now blogging I was just more aware of what was on offer. Also enjoyed reading MakeupSavvy's monthly round up to get an idea about which ones I wanted to get.

So I thought I do a quick round up of my favourites from the summer.

First up is Jemma Kidd Lip gloss in Candy.

Love this, its a gorgeous colour and has a great smell (so can stand any funny smelling glosses). There was a choice of 3 colours with the other two being peach and red. I have a slight problem with pink glosses so had to get it and for only £3.60 for the mag, it was such a bargain for a £14.00 product.

Next is The Body Shop's cheek and lip tint.

This was free with Instyle and I'm not sure about it really, the colour is good but I do prefer my Benetint. Also the tube just leaks as you can see in the picture. Overall a bit disappointed.

I also picked up the Neal's Yard Orange Flower moisturiser, with Red magazine which I reviewed
here.

Glamour have had a great summer of freebies - the best being the Benefit It Stick, Eyebright and BadGal. Amazing!!!
-Picked up three of the It Sticks, favourite concealer ever!

Oh and obviously there was the amazing Diet Coke and Nails Inc - absolutely the best giveaway of the summer for me. Picked up all the colours and loved them all, however London is my all time favourite nail varnish (I wear it nearly every week).
So that leads me perfectly on to the upcoming freebies with Glamour mag. In the December edition, out on the 4 November you can pick up one of four Nail Inc colours:
  • Hampstead Heath - a dark burnt red.
  • Warwick Avenue - a nude pink.
  • Savile Row - a dark plum.
  • Jermyn Street - greige, a soft taupe colour.
What do you think?

I'll probably pick up them all apart from Hampstead heath - not really my colour.

One million lipsticks up for grabs with Cadbury's Flake.....

Cadbury’s Flake a doing a great giveaway with Benefit. Buy a Flake and Enter the code on the inside of the packet for the chance to win one of 1 million Benefit Lipsticks or glosses. (rrp on Benefit Lipsticks is £14.00 and these are apparently full size)
Well I would usually be like – whatever, I’ll never win but OMG I actually did........yay go me!! You have quite a good choice to pick from (about 4 lipsticks and 2 glosses) and in the end I went for one of the two glosses - Life on the A List – described as a gloss that is pure class! Haha. Its more of a pinkie colour than the other one which is a bit more peach.
So now I’m just waiting for the little freebie to turn up and I’ll do a quick colour swatch and picture than.
