Rimmel Lycra Pro Finish in Night Flight

Today's post is a NOTD featuring Rimmel Lycra Pro Finish nail polish in Night Flight.
This is a very dark Aubergine shade, in daylight you certainly see the purple tint but sometimes indoors it looks black! This was three coats but that was my poor and lazy application, you could do two coats and be ok. This claims it will last 10 days, I can't comment on this as I have so far done 2 days (so far all good).
It retails for £4.59 and is available at most Supermarkets or chemists. what do you think?
Thanks

Rimmel Moisture Renew Bronze in Summer Angel

I wanted to introduce you to another lovely shimmery pink sheer lipstick that has entered my collection Rimmel Moisture Renew in Summer Angel. Recently my collection of this colour has grown bigger and I have mentioned some of my favourites on here, MAC Plink! and Politely Pink, Bourjois Sweet Kiss, 17 Beehive, and Models Own in Ballet Pink. But on Beauty and the Blog I spotted anther one I needed, Beauty and the Blog had tweeted about it then did a post....I knew when I saw the tweet I needed the lipstick.

The Moisture Renew Bronze,

'Get ready for summer with Moisture Renew Bronze shades with SPF20 and collagen. Infused with 3 super moisturisers for lips that are up to 70% more hydrated.'

They come in 4 shades Rose Bikini, Summer Angel, Beach Babe and Bronze Beauty and retail at £6.29 at Boots. I could only get the last 3 shades in my Boots and I would really like to get or at least try Rose Bikini.

Summer Angel is a lovely go to easy colour that makes my lips feel lovely and moisturised but with a lovely subtle colour. I love a lipstick that I can just apply whenever and where ever without a mirror and this fits into the category brilliantly. This will be used loads over the summer as it also contains SPF 20, so and added bonus and I am also going to keep a look out for Rose Bikini.

Are you a Summer Angel?

Rimmel Goodies

I am not sure if your are like me, but Christmas costs me a small fortune....every time I pop shopping I end up buying some bits for me as well....oops!

As Superdrug has 3 for 2 on cosmetics, I decided to get some bits on a recent Christmas shopping trip.

I got a Rimmel Stay Glossy Lip Gloss, a Rimmel Lycra Pro nail varnish and Collection 2000 - 2 in 1 nail strengthener and hardener.

I decided to get the Rimmel Lycra Pro in Night Flight which is like a rich aubergine shade. I have to say I quite like Rimmel nail varnishes and especially the Lycra Pro. My shade is from the Fall collection which you can see here. I find the brush is very easy too use and after three coats the finish is great! I also find that they last well before they start to chip. I just love this colour, its dark but has a lovely purple tone to it.

I also got myself a Rimmel stay glossy lip gloss in My Eternity, these are suppose to have Shine Extend which should make them last for up to 6 hours.

I love the gloss on and have been wearing it this morning, its non sticky and non scented so perfect! Only problem is that it doesn't have great staying power on my lips. After having a couple of drinks and eating its is pretty much off.

That hasn't put me off it though, I love the colour so I will be using it!

I also picked up a nail strengthener as I have recently been trying to grow my nails after being a nail biter for years. So I'll let you know how I get on with my Collection 2000 one.

Have you been buying yourself some Christmas treats?

NOTD - Rimmel Strawberry Fizz

So just a quick one really.

Been seeing a few girls posting pale pink nails - I really wanted to give it a go for winter. Seriously need a pick me up at the moment. How depressing is it?? - weather sucks and works is just slightly mental!

Anyway, its shameful to say but I don't own a pale pink nail varnish I actually like. I've got a few Nails Inc that were freebies - but their just not right.

So I raided the step-daughters nail polish collection (its actually bigger than mine - how did that happen?????)

And this is what I found,

Its Rimmel Fruity Scented Lasting Finish polish in Strawberry Fizz - what a mouth full.

I really like the colour as its not too pastel and a bit more bright. I had to give it a third coat as it still looked a bit streaky after two. After that I got a nice opaque finish. I actually find Rimmel Polishes easy to apply as the brush is a little wider than normal.

And the extra little treat - it smells of strawberry. Well ok I'm not quite sure its a very strawberry smell - its a very fake strawberry smell. Ok I know its only a nail polish, so what was I really expecting but you know, you always get an idea in your head.

Oh and it only smells once dry - just smells like regular nail polish otherwise!

Rimmel Moisture Renew in Vintage Pink

I have been on a hunt for a darker shade of lippy at the moment as all I seem to wear are pale colours, for example MAC Plink!, MAC Politely Pink, Bourjois Sweet Kiss Shine or just Models Own lip balm Ballet Pink. So I have wanted to branch out and try some darker colours and would really like to wear something like Kimberley Walsh in the photo below. Now with my colouring I'm not sure this is possible. So my hunt begin with Rimmel Vinatge Pink frtom the Moisture Renew Lippies. I know what your thinking it is not particularly dark.

But this is very dark for me, I thought it was best to work my way up to a darker colour.

I am not fully convinced of this colour on me but I have really been trying to love it, but I don't think I can! The colour is a little too matt or my liking (I much prefer sparkles), and even though its from the Moisture Renew lippies its a bit dry on my lips. I would need to wear it with gloss over the top! It really has a plumy tone on my lips so not sure whether to try something a bit more red/blue toned. All help would be appreciated!

Have you got a favourite dark lippie? any suggestion or me would be great!

Search for a Gorgeous Red Nail Varnish

Right I have been on a hunt for a red nail varnish recently, now I do want it more red than burgundy and at the moment I am struggling to get a colour I love! Before I go and buy anymore I thought I would show you what I already have and a suggestion from L, hopefully you could help me.

Now again my photo's are not great and this post is a bit picture heavy. Also as I didn't want to keep taking all the reds off my nails I have used some false nails for the pictures (hate the staining).
Below are the reds I already have:

(l-r Rimmel Hot Gossip, Nails Inc/Diet Coke Milan, MUA shade 8, OPI The Thrill of Brazil, George no.53 Shock)

From the colours above, I would my fave is the George at Asda, as I really like the colour (with it being a bit darker). But below is each of the colours seperately

First up is Rimmel Wear Maxx in Hot Gossip, I have used 2 coats on the nail, the brush is easy to use and the varnish dried quickly. This is a lovely colour but I'm not sure if it suits my colouring very well, but I do like it as it has a slight sparkle to it as well. Also Rimmel tend to be one of my favourite polishes as I find they last well on me and the price is good.

Second is a freebie I got from Nails Inc with Diet Coke, the colour is Milan. Now I have to admit that I've not used this polish yet! I used two coats and I have to say it didn't go on great (I think that is down to the brush).

Third up is MUA in shade 8, this is from the bargain range in Superdrug. I picked up a couple of these polishes and so did L. You do really need to use 3 coats to get a nice opaque finish. Now I really like this colour as it is a bit darker than the first two but it is poor to use on my finger nails as it is a bit watery, I think I will keep for my toes.

Fourth up in a OPI polish I got about 2 years ago for a black and red themed night I went on. This shade is The Thrill of Brazil and I used 2 coats to get the lovely opaque finish. Now I love OPI for their colour choice and the fact that they are so easy to apply and I find I always get a nice finish with them, and they last well. Lastly we have another bargain polish from George (currently £1) in Shock. This again is not the best polish to apply but I did only use 2 coats for this, I love this colour as once again, its darker which I think suits me more and has a hint of sparkle which I love!!

So out of the collection I already have, OPI is definitely the best to apply but for me the George polish is the colour I prefer. What do you think?

Now L has given me a picture of a red she likes, this is from the Rimmel scented range in Cranberry. Now she likes the smell but I'm not sure about having a nail varnish that smells fruity. What are your thoughts? I do think the colour is lovely on her.

If you could suggest any colours/ranges to try I would appreciate it?

NOTD Rimmel Black Cherries

Before I show you the Nail of the Day I wanted to show you my false nails! I am a nail bitter (I know the shame) so I have done the nail of the day using Nailene nails in petite. I think these personally look great on and if I use them with the Nailene Super Glue they last really well.
Today's NOTD is Rimmel lasting finishing in Black Cherries, I got from Superdrug for £2.99. The lasting finishing range is suppose to be hard wearing and chip resistant in a long lasting colour. The choice of colours are great as well!
Black Cherries is a very deep burgundy colour and I have put two coats on my nails in the picture below. The picture was taken with the flash on and really picks up the purple in the polish - I don't notice it as much in the normal light.

I got this colour as I am really liking dark nail varnish for winter, let me know what you think of the Rimmel Lasting Finish and your fav dark polish?

NOTD - Hen Do Fab!

So its my sisters Hen Do tonight and we thought we do a quick NOTD of her nail varnish. She wanted a charcoal colour however she spotted the the Rimmel Lycra Pro in Pearl Black. So thought she'd give it a go!

She's put 2 coats on over false nails and we're both loving it. You can really see the pearl effect in the pic below - I'm actually quite jealous cause this is definitely a look I would go for haha!

Only one problem really!

It states on the bottle that it comes with a mess free brush however she still had to go over with a cotton bud and remove a few bits down the sides, so not quite mess free!! Other than that just love it.

Perfectly fabulous for tonight!
Planning on trying to do OOTN and FOTN of us all tonight and I'll try and get them up tomorrow!
Roll on the cocktails.......
