Avon Shine Attract Lipstick

Today's post is on Avon Shine Attract lipsticks in Mysterious Mauve (R) and Happy Pink (L). These are available here on Avon, and are currently on offer for £5.00 (save £3.50). Here is what Avon say,
'Coverage that's never sticky, creamy moisture and lustrous colour, deluxe silver packaging. Lasting, full-colour lipstick with an outer gel layer for sumptuous satin shine*. Non-sticky*. Layer up for greater intensity. SPF15.'

As you can see these are basically a clear lip balm/gloss with a lipstick centre. You should still expect the full colour pay off but benefit from moisturised lips without stickiness.

Now I agree with the moisture and non sticky, and the colour pay off is good, as you can see by the one swipe below. I love a tinted lip balm so these should suit me great. But I find them difficult to apply and feel that once I have applied them I really have to rub my lips together to get a nice even coverage. I think it maybe due to the colour all being in the centre. I just don't like the hassle of this. I have a Miss Sporty £1.99 tinted lip balm (good colour pay off ) that I can just swipe and go.

I haven't really seen anyone else mention it so maybe I am being picky. But I had high hopes for these but I really don't seem to reach for them at all.

How are you? Hope you have all had a good week?

This week L and myself attend the Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow in London. As well as being shown the lovely new product we got to meet some lovely bloggers.

As your aware its also Mother's Day today. L is spending the day with our Mum but I am spending the day with my Hubby and Little one. Hubby and the little one know me so well and got me the new MAC Viva Glam Nicki lipstick. Hope you all enjoyed the day either spoiling your mum or being spoilt!

Lovely Lanolips

Well I have finally given in and brought a Lanolips lip balm. Now if you are a regular reader you'll know both L and myself are lip balm addicts. But I have held off buying Lanolips, mainly due to the price. But I had a Boots vouchers so finally gave in.

I just decided to get the Lanolips 101 Ointment but there are colour options available as well. I picked mine up in Boots for £11.22, for a 17.5g tube.

I had heard lots in the blogging world about these, so was very excited to try mine out.

Now this first appears to be very boring, its not scented and non coloured...it is just a balm as you can see below. But it is a wonder balm as it says above you can use it for anything. After two days of using it my lips felt amazing! I couldn't believe it, I have also seen people mentioning using it for cuticles and dry patches etc.

Its lovely and thick but non sticky, you only need a tiny amount and it melts into your lips. But...(there is always a but) I find it very difficult to squeeze out of the tube, especially on a cold day. The product is super thick and begins to melt and become more workable once on your fingers or lips. But I do have to give it a good squeeze sometimes to be able to get any out...thank god a little bit goes a long way.

The ingredients of this are also wonderful...its 100% ultra pure grade lanolin. For those who would like some more information on Lanolin, you can see here. Lanolin come from wool- bearing sheep, and is a wax like substance.

E.L.F Sweet Salmon

Today's post is on another great lip product from E.L.F.
Here is what E.L.F say about them,

I decided to get Sweet Salmon which is a pale pinky peach shade. The applicator is a brush again on this, I do prefer the doe applicators.

I love the colour as its just a great everyday colour, though it is very similar to a lot of my lipsticks and lipglosses...particularly 17 Beehive etc.

This is not too sticky on the lips, but does have a tacky feel on. Though I prefer E.L.F to MAC lipglosses as they are nowhere near as sticky as MAC. But I know E.L.F can be hit and miss with how sticky they are.

M&S Nail Polish

I love a bargain nail polish and these are only £3.00 from Marks and Spencer's for 8ml.
I picked up Dark Kingfisher (L) and Blue (R), I know rubbish names!...but pretty colour.

There was around 12 shades I think but I can't remember. These two caught my attention but I would now like to pop back again! The formula is a bit thin so much so you wipe you brush well before applying to your nails or you could end up in a mess. Though the formula is thin, they applied opaque in 2 coats.

Below are swatches with no flash then with a flash (Dark Kingfisher first).

I am really impressed with these for the price and would certainly try some other shades from there range.
