17 Peep Show Mascara

"Where'd ya get those peepers? Flash your lashes with our fibre-rich formulation which lenghtens your lashes from root to tip. Voluptuous volume and no clumps....just a full flirty flutter"
Anybody else think of Jeepers Creepers??? haha

Anyway have to admit I love 17 Mascara's and the new peepshow is no exception. First off the packaging is nice and cute (although a little cheap) and I love the brush, despite forgetting to take a photo of it!  It's a fat brush that's slightly curve it the middle which is perfect to ensure you get all your lashes.

I picked this up in Brown/Black as I have very white lashes and I find that 17 Mascara are not quite as dark in the Brown/black shades so work out perfectly. Obviously this may vary for some however on my white lashes it seems to be just right.

Right so I only apply to my top lashes as I tend to look a little weird if I apply so my bottom lashes as well and as you can see my lashes are almost invisible!

It applies easily and so far I haven't found that it really clumps.  Now 17 have stated that it include lengthening fibres and I would say my lashes look long but they're quite long anyway so I'm not really convinced but I like it despite this.

So far it's my favourite Mascara- colour, consistency and brush all fit the bill!

They're Real...

Well Benefit seem to be on a roll with new releases at the moment! Their newest product is They're Real and it's a mascara. As Benefit say,

'The Mascara that's beyond Belief'

You can see more information here. The brush is specially designed to coat lashes for length and definition, all in all its suppose to really push and volumize your lashes...thus making people think they are fake.

The mascara retails at £18.50 and as Benefit say:

'This bodacious breakthrough lengthens, volumizes & curls lashes for a spectacular '"out-to-here" look! The long wearing, jet black formula doesn't smudge, budge or dry out...so your luscious lashes last all day. True Story!'
Well the Mascara is not out in the UK till the middle of August...I know what a shame! But for 1 day only on the 6th August there will be a flash sale where you will be able to get your hands on.

The flash sale will be available at these 10 lucky stores:

House of Frazer Glasgow

John Lewis Oxford Street

Boots Manchester Market Street

Boots Nottingham

Some No7 Lovelies

Hey, we're at 500 followers (well 505 now!)

Firstly just want to say a huge thank you to all our followers, can't believe people actually want to read our blog!

(from weheartit.com)

Keep your eyes pealed for a giveaway coming soon!

Thanks again!

Now when No7 were running their £5 off vouchers I ended up buying quite a few bits from the range. I mentioned a couple of purchases previously here. But I then went and got some more bits...oops!

I had seen Beanie mentioned on a couple of Blogs and instantly knew I would love it. It is from the Speed Dry range and cost me £2 (normally £7) with the voucher. I really like this nail polish, the colour is great and it does dry quicker than my other no7 nail polishes, check out the range here.

The second polish I got is Damson Dream, I fell for this colour as soon as I saw it! I LOVE it! I really like how these polishes apply (no streaks) and last on my nails. My only issue with them is that you really need to make sure you have removed any excess from the brush, I had a drip problem when applying Beanie. But other than that I would get some more when the vouchers are back.

As I have previously mentioned in my Mascara SOS post I am on a hunt for a new one and with having the vouchers it worked out to £6.50 (normally £11.50). ShimmerDreamz commented that I should give the No7 Mascara a go especially as I had a voucher.

I decided on the Intense Volume Mascara purely as that was the only one they did in Brown (all the others were Brown/Black - which is too dark for me). So far I am liking the Mascara, I wouldn't say I notice the intense volume but it does separate my lashes and doesn't clump or make my eyelashes feel heavy. I will update as I continue to use it.

Boots are now doing a £5 off ladies face care voucher, so far I haven't used this yet and I'm not sure what to get with it. The voucher is valid to 22nd February and can be redeemed against - L'Oreal (Revitalift, Derma Genesis, Wrinkle Decrease Collagen, age Perfect, Age Re-Perfect),, Olay (Regenerist, Definity, Total Effects Facial), Sanctuary Spa Facial skincare, Time Delay, Dr Nick Lowe, RoC (Complete Lift, Hdyra+, Multi Correction, Retino, Wrinkle Correction), Good Skin Labs. I might take a nosey to get my mum some nice skincare for Mother's Day.

Did you use up your No 7 vouchers? Have you got any suggestion for the face care voucher?

Thanks

Mascara SOS

As the title suggests I need your help please!

I am in desperate need of a nice Brown Mascara, my eyelashes are blond and on the verge of see through so it can't be brown/black (it'll just be too dark). I have recently had my eyebrows tinted, which you can see here at the Benefit Bella Bamba Event so I especially need to get one I am happy with! I am going to look to get my eyelashes tinted in the near future but I am just a bit nervous.

I currently use a Collection Mascara in Brown or a Just for Redhead Ultresse Mascara in Ginger Cocoa. But I am not completely happy with either of these so I wanted to reach out and ask you guys which you would suggest. The Collection 2000 Mascara's formula is not that great and the brush is poor and the Just for Redheads mascara is a little too pale. I do have a Clinique Lash Power Long Wearing Mascara in Dark Chocolate, I do like the colour but it's a nightmare to get off my eyes.

Below are some options I have been looking at, as you can see I am totally lost;

My main options are:

  1. The Body Shop Super Volume £10.00
  2. TBS Divide and Multiple Mascara £10.00
  3. TBS Define & Lengthen Mascara £10.00
  4. TBS Waterproof Mascara £10.00
  5. JK Jemma Kidd Tailored Eyes Defining Mascara £10.25
  6. Topshop Mascara in Bitter Chocolate £8.00
  7. Benefit Bad Gal Brown £16.50
  8. BareMinerals Flawless Definition £16.00
  9. KorresColour Volumising & Conditioning Mascara currently £10 on ASOS.com
  10. RMK Separate Curl Mascara £18.45
  11. Illamasque Mascara £15.00
  12. MAC Studio Fix Lash £13.50
  13. MAC Mascara X £13.50

If anyone has tried any of the above Mascara's please could you let me know how you have got on with it and whether it is worth a try, we would both really appreciate it!

The Make-up Just for Redheads

Now in my previous post (Wedding FOTD) I had mentioned Just For Redheads which I had stumbled upon when googling for help with make-up for redheads. JFR was founded in 1992 by Paula Pennypacker, as she was was unhappy having to wear make-up designed for blonde's and brunettes,

The world's first & only beauty products designed by a redhead, just for
redheads.

They are only based in the US, but the do ship worldwide and all my deliveries from them have been super quick! And so far all have come with a free gift! I have ordered a couple of different products, I first started with the Mascara Naturelle, then the Studio Mascara but I'm going to show you my most recent purchase.

From left to right we have Mascara Ultresse in Ginger Henna, Miracle Mint Eye Disguise and finally Sedona eye single collection in Frosted Taupe.

The Mascara is great, I just love it I have even brought some for L to try! They are currently retailing at $24.99 and there is a sample below, I just love the colour as the are not as harsh as some high street browns (I also struggled to find that many different brands that do Brown). I naturally have blonde lashes so I have really struggled, but I find
this goes on great. As I was getting the mascara shipped I though it was better to add some items - just to justify shipping costs.

Firstly I choose the eyeshadow now the colour is Frosted Taupe, this is a brilliant everyday base colour for me, the pigment is not that strong but I like how it goes on so don't mind.

The third item I got was the Mint Eye Disguise it currently retails at $14.99, this is my fav, I pat it on my eye under my foundation and concealer. It is suppose to conceal dark circles and blemish, and personally I feel it does do this for me.

They stock such a wide range of fantastic products (from make-up to skincare to hair extensions) for us fair skinned redheads and I will be ordering from JFR again!
