Topshop Lipstick in Secret Admirer

Today's post is on Topshop's lipstick in Secret Admirer which Topshop describe as a warm nude.
I'd say it's far more of a soft pink that is a muted tone. The formula is very smooth and nourishing, applies great.
It's certainly a colour that would appeal to a lot if people, but for me is a tad too pale and flat of a colour. So far I have only been happy if I have out a gloss over the top.
This is another good item from Topshop but it's just not something I would re-purchase as it just doesn't suit me. You can see our other Topshop posts here.
Topshop lipsticks retail at £8.00.
Are you a Topshop fan?
Thanks

Topshop Blushers

Flush

Now this is a gorgeous bright pink that once blended really does leave you with a natural flushed look. I absolutely love it. Also it blends in easily - I use an ELF Stippling brush and I'm more than happy with the end result.

This is without doubt my favourite blusher at the moment.

Head Over Heals

I love the peachy colour of this, which was the main reason I picked it up. Also I love a cream blusher in the summer (although we're not really having one at the moment).

It's a gorgeous peachy/coral shade that looks quite vibrant but once blended in you achieve a lovely natural peachy look. Don't get me wrong I found these to be highly pigmented but a little goes a long way.

I was a little concerned that this wouldn't be quite right on with my skin-tone and feckless however I love the end result.

I think I can honestly say that the Topshop makeup range is one of my favourite on the high street. There's a great selection and the products are so pigmented and affordable. I just love it.

Orly launching in Topshop this month

So this month Orly will be launching in Topshop with their Mini Feel the Vibe Trio which retails for £13.00 for 3 x 5.3ml polishes.  The set features this summers Neon Trend with a stunning bright Pink (Beach Cruiser), a flouroscent green (Glow Stick - very approriate name!) and a vibrant orange (Melt your Popsicle).

I love Orly polishes and you can see our previous posts here, and these are no exception.  I love the whole Neon trend but other than possibly trying out a few accessories I'm a bit too much of a wimp to try anything else, so these would be perfect.  I so need Beach Cruiser!

Tophop Devour

Hey,

We have mentioned Topshop make-up range a few times on here, you can see the previous posts here. And today's post is on a new edition to my Topshop nail polish collection. This is called Devour and in the bottle it looks like a metallic purple, retails at £5.
I loved the shade when I saw it, such a deep purple.

But as you can see from the swatch below it is not as metallic on the nail.

But you still can see the tiny sparkles under the light.

It took 2 coats, they didn't dry particularly quick and I managed to catch my thumb so I now have a small dent in my nail :(. But oh well the colour is beautifully and its a great winter shade. It reminds me a little of ELF Dark Purple Glitter.

I would still like to get Late Show, Daredevil, Jewel in the Crown, Gypsy Night, Utilitarian and Sapphire. You can see the collection here.

What have you tried from Topshop? Any colours I should get in the nail polishes?

Thanks

Prim and Proper

(No Flash)

(Flash)

This gorgeous pink is from Topshop's AW11 Smoke and Mirrors Collection in Prim and Proper. The collection is full of gorgeous glamorous shades to create the perfect sultry 1970's look. It's all about perfect skin, wide eyes and perfectly polished lips and nails. I think this pale pink fits perfectly into that whole look and really makes me think of the 1970's.

I love the Topshop polishes - all it takes is 2 coats for a lovely streak free finish and this colour is gorgeous! Definitely an everyday colour for AW11.

Perfect name for a gorgeous shade.

Priced at £6.00 instead of the usual £5.00, but so worth it.

Topshop Dash

Well my lipgloss/lipstick draw is beginning to follow a colour theme - light pink/peachy tones. Everything I buy at the moment seems to follow this as well...oops I need to find some different colours that suit me!

One of my recent purchases is Topshop Glaze in Dash which retails at £6.00, topshop state that it is a 'non sticky lip glaze to give smoothed lips with a glossy shine'.
I love the colour but sadly I don't love it on my lips I find it tacky (not sticky) and after applying it I did notice that it is quite similar to 17 Beehive and Jemma Kidd Red freebie lipgloss.

L-R 17 Beehive, Jemma Kidd , Topshop Dash

And actually I prefer both of these shades compared to the Topshop lip glaze, which is a shame as I really like Topshop make-up (you can see my other Topshop items here). So I will not be buying this again and I probably won't even use this up!

Pro's:

  • Colour

  • Price

  • Packing -its very cute

Con's:

  • Not a great choice of colours

  • Feels tacky on

The next items on my list to try from Topshop are there eyeshadows, anyone tried the you can see some of the choice here.

Do you like a peachy pink lip colour? Have you tried Topshop lip colours?

Thanks

Cream Blusher - Topshop Pinch

Today's post is on a great new cream blusher I've picked up from Topshop in Pinch. I had put out a query regarding cream blusher on Twitter and Topshop seemed popular so I popped in for a look.

After trying out all the shades I settled on Pinch which is a vibrate hot pink.

The texture is great and a little goes a long way...if I apply too much my cheeks look quite flushed!

Cream blusher is not something I have been tempted to try before, I am a fan of just using Benetint or powder blush. But I am pleasantly surprised! Especially as this retails for £6 at Topshop and as you only have to use a tiny amount it will last ages. I have so far been applying it with my finger as I feel it helps to blend it in better.

My only negative is I have some dry patches on my cheek at the moment and this cream blusher stick to these and looks awful. But I don't get this with my Benetint or powered blush.

Are you a fan of cream blusher? What brands are worth a look?

Thanks

A mini Topshop Haul...Big Smoke and Play for keeps

Hey,

At the moment I am a total nail varnish fan and keep picking loads up! I had seen the two nail varnishes, that are mentioned in today's post, quite a while ago in Topshop and couldn't stop thinking about them. I know what your thinking...Sad. But I really fancied adding both to my ever growing collection. So on one of my lunch breaks I decided to get both...while I was there I also picked up a cute necklace.

Firstly I wanted to mention the super cute necklace (well I think so).

I think it was £8, but I am terrible with shopping and prices I tend to just pick things up. I just thought it looked so fresh for spring and girly even though it's a skull. But maybe its not as girly as I thought because the first thing the little one said was "it's like Halloween mummy"...oh well. You can check out some of Topshop's jewellery here.

But onto the nail varnishes, I picked up Big Smoke and Play for Keeps, which were both £5. So far I quite like the Topshop nail varnish range, they are good value and come in a great choice of colours. Once applied they seem to last about 3 days or so without chipping which I think is alright. You can see the full range here

Big smoke is a great taupe colour which reminds me of a darker version Nails Inc London and Play for Keeps is a lovely bright peach, I also have Cloud.

I would definitely look to purchase mote from the nail varnish range and from the make-up range.

Have you tried any if the Topshop make-up range?

Topshop make-up.....My New Love!!

Well I have found a new love....Topshop make-up. I know I am late on to this but I don't always like ordering make-up off the Internet as I like to see it in person. And I don't tend to go into my Topshop often when shopping with little one and Hubby as my one isn't Pushchair friendly. But now I work in Milton Keynes I have been having a great shop on my lunch break. On one of my lunches last week I popped into Topshop and treated myself to some of their make-up bits.

I got an Eye Kohl in Pewter, Lip Polish in Lavender, Eye Crayon in Stardust and Nail polish in Cloud. The Lip Polishes retail at £6 and come in a little pot with a flip lids with a mirror inside. It is a lovely little pot I am not completely a fan of having to apply with my finger but the tub and colour are soooo pretty I don't mind too much. The Lip polishes also come in Truffle, Poetic, Rhubarb and Iced Coffee (I really like the look of Poetic as well), you can check out Topshop's other lip products here. Lavender is a gorgeous lilac, sparkly shade and isn't too sticky on your lips, I like the idea of wearing its with a grey eye look.

The Eye crayon in Stardust and is a lovely pale pink colour with lots of lovely glitter it in for shading and defining eyes. These retail at £6 and come in another 7 shades Woodland, Lazy Days, Satchel, Black Jack, Midnight, Cosmic and Orb. Stardust is quite pale but as I am very pale I like the colour on me, I was worried about how this would apply (especially the glitter) but it is very smooth and easy to apply. I loved this as soon as I put it on and instantly wanted to get some more colours.....BUT even though I applied mine using my UDPP this creased quite badly :( . I am going to try it again as I really liked it and would love some more colours! Check out the rest of the shades here.

I also picked up an Eye Kohl in Pewter, which retail at £4 and are available in another 6 shades Dragonfly, Juniper, Bolt, Frost, Coal, Petrol. This glides on very easy and is very soft, I love the colour and I have worn everyday since I have got it. And as this was £4 I am off to get Juniper (a deep purple) Bolt (Nay blue), and Petrol (petrol blue).

The last item I got was a nail varnish in Cloud, the nail varnishes are £5 and come in a choice of around 28 shades. I ended up choosing cloud, but it was so hard to choose a colour, you can check out the rest here.

I am so pleased with the nail polish, the handle makes it easy to apply and I used two coats and was happy with the finish. I really want to get some more of these nail polishes as I really liked how this applied and so far I have had this on for 2 days with little tip wear (I am not wearing a top coat).

I now have a big wishlist of other items I want from the range and I would love to try the eyeshadows. Has anyone else tried Topshop make-up? What are your favourites? Any recommedations?
