Products used,
Face
- Bobby Brown Skin Foundation in Porcelain (0)
- Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair - Under eyes and on blemishes.
- Lily Lolo - Blush Away - around my nose and on blemishes.
- Bobby Brown Blushes in Pink Sugar

Eyes
- UDPP
- Urban Decay Virgin (Naked Palette) - all over eye.
- E.L.F Eyeliner Pen in Coffee - along top lash.
- The Body Shop mascara in Brown.

Lips
- Dainty Doll Lipstick in In His Kiss

I ended up getting a sample of the foundation as I loved it so much. I will do a full post on it soon, though L has previously reviewed the Moisture Rich Foundation in Alabaster.

Witch Anti Blemish Skin Clearing Primer

Hey,

You may have noticed that I have mentioned this primer in my favourites a couple of times so I thought as I have nearly used this one up I would do a post on it. This primer has been mentioned and reviewed a lot in the past couple of months especially as Witch held a bloggers event. After reading a lot of these posts and realising I really needed to start using a primer I decided to give it a go and I am sooo pleased!

The Witch Anti Blemish Skin Clearing Primer retails at £6.99 at Boots, firstly here is what Witch say:

'Witch Anti-blemish Skin Clearing Primer is designed to help prepare your skin for foundation by mattifying and absorbing excess oils, providing a smooth, silky base that helps you achieve an even and long lasting finish with any foundation or powder. Added to this, the Witch Anti-blemish Skin Clearing Primer also helps prevent and target blemishes by protecting skin from the layers of make-up which can cause or aggravate blemishes.

  • Helps prevent and target blemishes

  • Mattifies and absorbs excess oil

  • Can be used alone or under your favourite foundation or powder'

My skin is certainly blemish prone so this seemed like a winner especially for the price.

I tend to apply one full squirt to my fingers and then blend across my face, then leave it for a couple of minutes then appply my foundation. As I have only used a small amount this 30ml tube has lasted me around 3 months.

I apply mine at around 7 am and when I get home at 6pm I still like how my face looks. I also feel that this primer tied in with my current skincare routine has really helped to clear up my blemish and stop more from coming out. I haven't really been able to find a fault with this yet. It doesn't really have an odour which is another positive - especially as witch hazel and antibacterial products can smell a little.

I have included a little FOTD with this as a base

Face:
*Witch Skin Clearing Primer - all over

*Lush Jackie Oates Colour Supplement

*Collection 2000 Shimmer Shade Blushalicious

*E.L.F Radiance Blusher in Flushed.

Eyes:
*UDPP

*Urdan Decay Virgin

*17 Boots Soft Liner Pen in Soft Mocha

*JFR Mascara

Lips:
* MAC Plink

Have you tried anything for the Witch Cosmetics range?

Thank you

Collection 2000 Shimmer Shade in Blushalious

Hey,

At the moment I've become obsessed with blushers but I am trying not to spend much money! Well you can imagine how happy I was when I spotted this little lovely in Boots. Its called a Shimmer Shade and its in Blushalious, you can also get Way-to-Glow, these retail at £3.99.

What Collection 2000 say,
'Release the shimmer queen in you, and create a soft glow that lasts all summer long with the new Collection 2000 Shimmer Shades (£3.99). These delightful, little compacts will give you a sun kissed, radiant glow normally associated with spending time under the exotic sun. With two palettes to choose from, prepare to dazzle as the four merged blocks combine shimmer with shade for a multi-tonal and natural blend of colour.

The Collection 2000 Shimmer Shades' skin-brightening formula will help enhance your natural skin colour ready for long, romantic summer evenings, by illuminating the apples of your cheeks and giving a light sparkle. Choose from either a bronze base in Way to Glow or a blush flush in Blushalicious.'

So Blushalious comes in 4 gorgeous pink to coral shades that you wear on them own or blend together.

Above are the swatches of each of them on their own my favourites are 2 and 3 and below is a swatch of them mixed together. I like the way that you have two that have more shimmer (1 + 3) and two with less (2 + 4).

I love how it gives me a nice glow, after trying this one out I really want to pick up Way-to-Glow. For £3.99 this is a lovely product and another great item from Collection 2000. At the moment Collection 2000 seem on a roll with their new products and especially at the time when people are trying to cut back its great to be able to find these highstreet bargains!

Below are some FOTDs featuring Blushalious all over and no.2 from the block on my checks, I have also used no 3 over eyes.

Sorry for the stupid pose with my sunnies!

For the FOTD's (Both were the same):

  • Witch Primer

  • Lush Jackie Oats & No7 Lift + Luminate in Alabaster

  • Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair

  • Lily Lolo Blush Away

  • Collection 2000 Blushalious - Blended all over, no 2 on checks and no 3 swiped over eyes.

  • Benefit Posietint on Lips

  • Jemma Kidd lipgloss on lips - Magazine Freebie

Has anyone else tried these out? Is Way-To-Glow good?

Thanks

Simple FOTD

When I am doing my make-up for work in the week I tend to be quite boring with the choice of products I use. As I am usually in a rush I tend to use the same products most days.

I have decided to show you my go to face at the moment that I have been wearing to work. I am sorry for the funny expressions and fluffy hair!
The products I have used are;

Face

Eyes

Lips

What are your go to products?

Thanks

Bourjois 10hr Sleep Effect

So I purchased this quite sometime ago, but never really got around to using it. Btu after seeing a few good reviews about it recently I thought I'd get it out and give it a proper go.

Been using it constantly since

I picked mine up in Abricote Clair number 71 from Boots for £8.99 - although showing on Boots website as £9.49 at the mo.

OMG how badly has the label worn!

So Bourjois say that,

'this is an anti-fatigue foundation which conceals all signs of fatigue thanks to a formula enriched with a high concentration of vitamins E, F, B5 and minerals'

'dark circles, skin imperfections and a dull complexion are replaced with an even and rested complexion'

Have to admit that this does describe the perfect foundation for me.

The foundation itself has quite a thin texture and blends in really easily. I actually apply mine with a foundation brush at the moment, but I do sometimes use either my fingers or my Cosmo blend perfection sponge.

For me this has a more light to medium-ish coverage - which is perfect with summer approaching. I think it gives a nice natural, even finish, which for someone who has alot of freckles is great. It hides any redness around my nose, but doesn't cover all my freckles which can tend to make it look as though I'm caked in makeup.

I LOVE the finish I get. Very natural. And when you're getting up at 6.15am every morning for work, it really does help to have a foundation that just perks up you and helps to hide the dark circles. Also wearing:

  • Benefits Erase Paste in No 1 Fair

  • Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in SC-1

  • First Light Cosmetics Perfect Finish in Air Kiss

  • Benefit Benetint

  • Collection 2000 Blush in Bashful

  • Accessorize Bronzer in Golden Sands

  • Natural Collection Waterguard Mascara in Brown Black

  • Dior Lip Polish in Fresh Expert No2

Work FOTD....1st day in my new job

This is actually a FOTD from last week, when I started my new job. I was really nervous about starting full time work again especially as I was going back to start my career in Retail Head Office (I work in Buying), but everything seems good so far! When it came to choosing make-up and an outfit for the 1st day I wanted to go quite neutral on the make-up and decided to do the same for my outfit.

For my outfit I work black trousers, black t-bar heels, white vest, grey short sleeved longer length cardigan with a thin black leather bet around waist.

My FOTD was

Face

Lily Lolo Peepo

Benefit Erase Paste in Fair
Benefit Benetint

Lily Lolo Blush Away

Collection 2000 Bronzer

Eye

Collection 2000 Mascara in Brown

Next Cashmere Eye palette

Max Factor Eyeliner Pen in Brown

Benefit Eye Bright (on lower waterline)

Lips

Rimmel Summer Angel

How would you have done your make-up?

MAC Lustre in Syrup

Today's post is on my new lippy from MAC, it is a Lustre and the colour is Syrup. My Hubby got it for Christmas for me, and I love it! The lustre's are my favourite MAC lippies as they have a lovely sheer finish and they are sparkly. Its a muted pinkish/brownish mauve colour, it is such a lovely neutral shade without being too pale! This will become a staple go-to lippy for me as the lustre's are so easy to apply when out and about, but the colour is also so wearable especially for work.

I have also done a FOTD wearing it as well: Products used are

Eye Base:

Benefit Erase Paste in Fair

Lily Lolo Peepo

Lily Lolo Blush Away

Urban Decay Eye Potion Primer

Face:

Benefit Benetint

Collection 2000 Bronzer

Eye Colour:

Base eyeshadow Next Cashmere Palette - pale shades

Max Factor Eyeliner Pen in Brown

Collection 2000 Mascara in Brown

Lips:

MAC Syrup

I am not a massive fan of doing face or lip posts as my lips are totally not symetrical, but I am going to try to keep doing some more posts as I do feel it is better to see it on than just a swatch.

Have you tried Syrup? Whats your favourite go-to MAC lippy?

FOTD

Ok so last week in work we were told we had to have photo's taken as they were changing our passes to get into work into Photo ID cards. Great!

So we were told that yesterday was when they were taking place and of course the whole office ended up looking like a Boots advert, as all the girls wanted to make sure they looked their best.

So here's what I went with,

I'm wearing: -

FACE
  • Prime Time Primer
  • Bobby Brown Moisture Rich Foundation in Alabaster (loving this at the moment)
  • Benefit Erase Paste in Light and Benefit It Stick concealers.
  • Accessorize Baked Blusher in Starlet
  • Accessorize Highlighter
  • He-Shi Fusion Multi Bronzer (Ok I know I look quite pale, but I only use a little to make myself look a little healthier)
EYES
  • UDPP
  • Natural Collection Water Guard Mascara in Brown Black
  • ELF Waterproof Eye Liner Pen in Coffee
  • MAC Eyeshadow in Shroom

LIPS

  • 17 Mirror Shine On Lipstick in Beehive (with Dior Lip Maximiser as well)
Oh and this is the dress I'm wearing with a white shirt underneath and black tights. I got it from Dorothy Perkins for £17.00 in the sale and it's currently my favourite item of my work wardrobe. Love it!

Wedding Day FOTD

Ok so this is my first post and I hope everyone likes it.

I got married on the 4th Sept 2010 and it took me ages to decide on make-up colour/products to use! I didn’t have the funds to use a make-up artist for the day, so I decided to do my own thus started my hunt for what to do and what to use.

I tend to keep my make-up quite light and only started to wear mascara this year (all due to Just For Redheads which I will discuss in a future post). I decided I wanted silvery eyes and pale pink lips:

Below is a list of items I used on the day considering I never normally do much with my everyday make-up this list was ridiculously large for me (...even if it was for my wedding)

Face

  • Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light moisturiser mixed with Avon shimmer swirls illuminator
  • Soap and Glory Bright Here Bright Now
  • Just for Redheads Mint eye disguise
  • Benefit Yellow Aid
  • Benefit Erase Paste in fair
  • No7 Lift & Luminate Foundation in Alabaster and Revlon Colour Stay in Ivory (I didn’t like either colour on their own)
  • Collection 2000 Bronzer
  • Benefit Bene-tint

Lips

  • MAC Lustre in Politely Pink with Miss Sporty Sheer Lipstick in Glitter ball over the top

Eyes

  • Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion
  • MAC Lustre in Arctic Grey
  • Famous by Sue Moxley eye shadow in Shimmer Shade 2
  • Gosh Glamourous eye shadow 14 Grey Brown
  • Eyeko magic eyeliner - MUA Shade 3 Pearl Grey used for colour
  • Clinique Lash Power Long Wear Mascara in Dark Chocolate

I don’t normally like pictures of myself or ever think my make-up looks nice but I do quite like it here.
