L'Occitane Makeup Range

So today we've got something a little special to share with you.  We L'Occitane here on the blog.  The products are always smell and look amazing - for me they do the best hand cream ever.

Well they're now releasing a Makeup range.

Launching in April 2012 and part of the Pivoine Delicate range, L'Occitane have created 3 lipsticks, 3 lip glosses and a gorgeous lip gloss/perfume combo which you can see above.

We were sent a lipstick in Pivoine Delicate, the gloss in Rose Fremissant and the Eau de Toilette and Gloss Duo.

Firstly I have to just stop and say that the packaging is absolutely stunning.  It has a real vintage vibe to it and I have to say I love it. Gorgeous and chic.

Swatch of the gloss duo.

Gloss Duo

The Eau de Toilette is gorgeous which blends the softness of peony and rose petals and lily of the valley.  It smells so beautiful and is perfect for spring.

The gloss is such a gorgeous peachy shade that is to easy to wear.  The gloss itself has a little brush which makes it easy to apply.

Gloss and lipstick swatch.

Lip gloss - Rose Fremissant

The main gloss range is slightly different and applies with a little padded foot instead, which I do think provides a much better coverage of the gloss.  The lovely pink shade is a perfect colour for me - only downside is that it's shimmery (regular readers will know that I have serious issues with glittery/shimmery/sparkly products) but despite my issues the colour is so feminine and summery.

Lipstick - Pivoine Delicate

Finally we have my favourite of the range which is a gorgeous nude/pink.  It's quite a sheer lipstick but I like the look.  It applies amazingly and I love the end result.

Overall I'm really impressed with the range.  It screams of girly elegance with its gorgeous delicate peaches, pinks and reds and the packaging is just so pretty.  I do think they're a little pricey but I feel like the packaging and overall quality does go someway to justifying the price.

Eau de Toilette - £14.00
Lip Gloss - £11.50
Lipstick - £12.50

New George at Asda Make-up

Hey,

Well guess what I spotted when I was doing my food shopping on Saturday morning....some new lines in the George Make-up range. My first though was to have a look and see what additions they had made but all I could notice was that they had slightly ripped off Benefit Cosmetics.
The new items that I could see first were two new shades to there Matt Finish nail polish, in a pink and red. I am still not a convert to matt nail polish, so far I have a black but haven't really used it.

Then I spotted that they had released a tinted moisturiser which reminded me of You Rebel (especially the packaging shape). They have also released two cheek tints (dupes of Posietint and Benetint) and a highlighter (High Beam)

Then I noticed the lipglosses, which are dupe for the Benefit lip glosses, these retail at £3.75 and come in 11 shades. I actually picked up two shades in Grrrrr and Pucker Up. Both apply well, are pigmented and none sticky. But the first thing I noticed is that Pucker Up (bottom pic) is a complete dupe for Benefit Nookie Nookie.

I really like the lipglosses and at the price I would be tempted to pick some more up! My only gripe is the smell, why do cheap beauty products need to smell ELF has managed to make lipglosses that don't smell for £3 why can't everyone else!
All of these items were on promotion when I saw them and though I have never been tempted by another cheek tint (I am loyal to me Benetint). For the the fact these are retailing at £2.50 I am tempted, even just to have as some spares.
Has anyone spotted these dupes in Asda? Has anyone tried them yet?
Thanks

First Week of Blogging

As its been my first seven days of blogging I though I'd do an update for you. I had started to help L with the blog as she was finding she was having less and less time to put to the blog but she still wanted to keep the blog going (L is getting married in June so is quite busy :) ). As I had been reading beauty blogs, magazines and being a shopaholic as well, I offered my help and she kindly accepted!

So I'll introduce myself a bit better for you! I am L identical twin sister K. Currently we live quite far apart from each but we talk everyday basically in some form be it telephone or email. L will not be impressed by the picture below, I'm on the left and L is on the right.

We have quite different taste in a lot of things (Men! and food) but very similar in other things (clothes). So you will see different opinions, purchases and reviews from the both of us.

So I started blogging for L on Monday morning and have done 5 blogs so far for her:

  1. Wedding FOTD - this was the FOTD of my wedding in Sept 2010

  2. Just for Redheads - this is a US brand I love!

  3. Sheer/Coloured Lip Balms - I am addicted to these!

  4. Thursday Haul - As I said I am a shopaholic.

  5. NOTD - My new winter nail fave!

We have lots of ideas that will be coming up in future posts and we also appreciate every comment that is made! Let us know if there anything that you would like to see on the blog in the future as well, you can comment below!

So far I have really enjoyed doing it and I hope you all enjoy reading our future post be it through Twitter ( @kltaunt & @LatBeautyAddict ), Facebook, or the blog page.

Accessorize Makeup at Superdrug

Just a quick post about the new Accessorize makeup at Superdrug.

Picture was taken on my phone in the shop, so not great.

Everything looks gorgeous. There is a great selection of colours and products. It also all looks quite reasonable, for example duo eyeshadows at £4.00 and baked blushers at £5.50.

I've picked up a few bits and will post about them in a few days, once I've had a play!

Was also eyeing up the polishes as they have a great collection! Need to see what the qualities like, but will probably pick up a few for the price.

Anybody else picked anything up yet??
