Foundation for Pale Girls

L and myself have always had a love hate relationship with Foundation. Mainly because those on the high street don't usually cater for our skin tone. The palest tend to be too orange or dark on us. I understand why they don't cater for everyone...its just not cost effective. But its still annoying!

We are always on the look out for new range and lighter shades, you can see our previous Foundation posts here. Currently below are the foundation I have on the go. From L to R we have Bourjois 10 hour Sleep effect in shade 71, Boots No 7 Lift & Luminate in Alabaster, Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation in Porcelain, Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint in Fair, sample of Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H in 005 Beige Ivoire (review coming soon) and lastly Missha BB Cream in No 13 (review coming soon). Below these are swatched in the same order as above.

As you can see all the shades are quite different, ranging from pinky to yelow. And this is the biggest issue we have you can't always get the pale shade in the right tone for your skin.

At the moment I am switching between Liz Earle (sometimes too heavy), Bobbi Brown, Missha BB Cream and the new Lancome Teint Idole (too matte). But I am still not completely happy with the shades. I think shade wise I prefer Liz Earle, Bobbi Brown and Missha BB Cream, which is odd as in the swatches above Liz Earle seems a bit more yellow toned which I don't like.

Hopefully I can find my prefect shade...and how hopefully its not ridiculously expensive. Which should I get next? Who does the best array of shades?

Round up of the week

It's been a gorgeous weekend that's mostly been spent shopping!!

Yesterday I managed to treat myself to two nail polishes and the Real Techniques Stippling Brush (review coming soon). L also had the day out shopping with our sister and Mum.

We also both enjoyed Wales winning in the Rugby yearterday against Italy....next week the Grand Slam hopefully!!

More Lovely E.L.F Blushers...

I adore E.L.F blushers, for the price the colour pay off is unbelievable. I have previously mentioned some of my E.L.F blushers here. Two of my newest additions are Studio Blush in Twinkle Pink and Natural Radiance Blusher in Blushing.

As I have mentioned in my previous posts the packaging on the Studio blush is great and certainly doesn't look like it costs £3.50, they also contain a mirror. The packaging on the Natural Radiance Blusher is a lot cheaper looking and they can be difficult to open.

Both these shades are a bit newer to E.L.F and that's why I picked them up really. Though there is still a couple of other shades I would like to try from the ranges.
Both colours look gorgeous in the packaging, though they look quite similar here. These are both lovely pink tones. As you can see below both contain goldy glitter, Blushing first.

Then Twinkle pink, though this contains a lot more glitter.

Now for the swatches, these are just applied as a one swipe finger swatch just look at the pigmentation.

Twinkle pink looks a lot more peachy toned then Blushing in the swatches. But both are gorgeous on and give a nice warm glow. Though I still think Flushed from the Natural Radiance Blushers is my favourite colour.

The Studio Blushers retails at £3.50 for 4.75g and 11 shades and the Natural Radiance Blushers retails at £1.50 for 2g and are available in 7 shades.

E.L.F Glam Guava

Today's post is on another E.L.F purchase, I do really have lots from here now.
Though I am slightly confused on what mine is. I had brought a new Glossy Gloss and a Glitter Gloss. I picked up Sweet Salmon Glossy Gloss and Glam Guava Glitter Gloss. So instantly you'd think was Sweet Salmon due to the tub saying Glossy Gloss, but no the label underneath say's Glam Guava. And I have my Sweet Salmon which say's Glossy Gloss as well. They've made it very confusing, but oh well.

The gloss is applied via a brush...I tend to prefer the doe applicators.

Overall the consistency is nice, its applies nice and is a little sticky but not too much.

As you can see the glitter is not too obvious and the particles aren't too big so its not gritty on your lips. I love the colours its sooo pretty on, very easy to throw on whenever, wherever.

I know a lot of people are sensitive regarding the scent. The scent is not too overpowering, as with a lot of cheap glosses it does have a slight plastic note but nothing too bad.

These retails at £3.50 and are available in 10 shades.

I am annoyed that this is in the wrong packaging, but for the price I like it.
