17 Limited Edition Vintage Eye Palette in Pretty Pastels

I thought I'd give you a quick look at the 17 Limited Edition Vintage Love Pretty Pastels palette. K's previously shown you the Metallic Nudes palette.

First of all I have to say that I don't really pick up many palettes. I'm not usually convinced by the colours in a lot of sets and I have to admit I kind of felt the same about this, but as it was on 3 for 2 I thought I'd give it ago.

Also how cute is the packaging and the actual layout of the shadows.

I don't own many pastels colours so was quite keen to give it a go for spring - just to get some a nice fresh look.

All the colours a shimmery - which isn't also my thing, but I guess it works with pastel shades.

(no flash)

The shadows are not particularly pigmented, except for the dark purple. Which is a bit of a shame, but I think this can be a problem with pastels shades.

(flash)

The shimmery is picked up really well by the flash.

Overall I really quite like the little palette and they blend in quite nicely. I thought I would show you a quick EOTD using the colours. I kept it quite simple really as it was only for work.

I've used the lilac over the lid with the dark purple in the crease and to blend in. I also used a little white on the inside corners of my eyes.

In the picture I've also used:

  • Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in B10 Beige

  • Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in SC-1

  • Benefit Erase Paste in Fair

  • Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

  • Benefit Benetint

  • Accessories Bronzer in Golden Sands.

  • Palmers Lip Butter in Dark Chocolate and Peppermint

Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Phenomena

I actually picked this up a while ago and not really got around to using it - as usual!

This is part of the liquid metal range and is a metallic cream. Illamasqua state that this can be:

'Use to adorn eyes, face and body, and apply with fingers or a brush. Release your inhibitions and illuminate your alter ego'

Ok so I loved it at the counter, but wasn’t really sure when I got home really.

Firstly, it's so the wrong colour for me to use as a highlighter - I would definitely need something a little warmer on my skin.

As an eyeshadow I'm not entirely convinced either. Once I had it on, it took a while to dry and just creased. Also it just not very pigmented - which is a big shock for me with Illamasqua products. You can see in the pictures that it hardly even shows up when swatched on my hand.

I think its ok as a base but still nothing special and still took a while to set.

Overall there's not much more to say about it, I was really disappointed. I don't know whether I should have really tried for a different colour - quite drawn to Surge on the
website.

ME ME ME Colourama Cream Eye Shadows

Hey there lovelies.

So I wanted to do a review for you on a cream eyeshadow I recently purchased at Superdrug.

The brand is ME ME ME and their product is the Colourama Cream Eye Shadows in shades Liquid Bronze, Chiffon Rose and Azure Blue. They retail for £5.50 each ordinarily but I picked them up for £3.99 each last Friday on offer.

I did try to find a website for this brand to link for you and also so you could see what the product is like. Unfortunately, it seems that they don't have one (!?) so here's a piccie of what they look like on the Superdrug site I know they kind of look basic really here, but when you are in the store they do look quite pretty.

I tried them quickly on the back of my hand also and was please so I took them to the till to purchase!!
Anyway, here's a quick peek of what they look like...

with flash...
without flash...

From top to bottom the shades are:-
Chiffon Rose
Azure Blue
Liquid Bronze
Aren't they priiiiiiiiiity???
Advantages:- It has a great applicator that comes with - like the ones that you get in your lipgloss. The sponge with a gradient... And they are stunning colours - very pigmented!
Disadvantages:- They don't go on as smooth as I would like. I used to have a divine Benefit bronzing highlighter thingy which I doubled up as e/s -it used to just glide on, whereas this dries almost on contact, so I got an uneven finish.
However, I've been using my fingers so I will try and eyeshadow brush and I am sure it will be better. But I want cream e/s to be convenient! So shouldn't I be able to just slick it on and quickly rub in??
The colours more than make up for it though as they are so cute and I am happy to have these in my makeup collection. I don't think I would re-purchase at £5.50 each but I think that £3.99 was a reasonable price for them!
