Bobbi Brown Desert Rose Blush

I've come to the decision that Bobbi Brown is my favourite of the top end brands. The foundations actually have the perfect shade for K and myself - which is honestly amazing as we really struggle (we've shown you some swatches of the selection for the pale foundations we own). Not only this but they stock the most beautiful selection of blushers. They have such a perfect selection for any skin tone and are such heavily pigmented. So up today is a review of the Bobbi Brown Desert Rose Blush.

When I picked up this I was originally planning on trying out one of the cream blushers but whilst having my makeup done at the counter in Liverpool's Debenhams the makeup artist recommended giving this one a go and I loved it. It's a nice dirty pink colour that adds such a lovely natural and subtle colour to my cheeks - gorgeous!

In the picture I'm also wearing the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation in Porcelain and Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer in SC-1.

Now as I write this post I am still not completely sure I have made up my mind on this foundation. The foundation is question is Bobby Brown Skin Foundation in Porcelain.
Here is what Booby Brown says,

This long-wearing formula evens tone, minimises the appearance of pores, conceals imperfections, and offers broad spectrum UV protection. Its hydrating technology leaves skin feeling cushioned, comfortable, and clean. Ideal for combination, normal and normal to dry skins.'
The foundation is available in 18 shades, a colour for everyone, they cost £29.00 for 30ml,and contains SPF 15.

I mainly wanted to try this foundation as L has tried the Moisture Rich Foundation in Alabaster. She said that this was close to being here holy grail foundation except she felt it was a little dark. I popped along to my Bobby Brown Counter in John Lewis and asked to be matched. I decided that I liked the skin foundation more and was colour matched to porcelain so a shade darker than L. I though this was a little odd but as the assistant said each of their foundations are slightly different shades.

I think the colour is a great match.

The foundation is a light to medium coverage, the foundation is very thin and a little goes a long way. It just helps to give my skin a boast and stops it looking tired. You can see it on below.

As it is lightweight and not a heavy coverage if you have blemish (which I do get) you need a good concealer. I find the foundation is best when your skin is a bit more blemish free. And I think this is way I can't make up my mind on this. When my skin is good I love this on, when isn't isn't I don't.

I have been considering picking up another Bobby Brown Foundation that has heavier coverage. L and myself struggle so much to find foundation shades that match our skin and this is prefect so I would like to persist, but really they are expensive to own one for good days and one bad days. But I was tempted to go back and try the Moisture Rich, Natural Finish Long Lasting or Luminous Moisturizing and hope they worked better on my bad days.

FOTD featuring Bobby Brown

Just a quick FOTD today.

This was actually my make-up last Saturday. I had popped along to John Lewis to get colour matched to Bobby Brown Foundation.

- Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair - Under eyes and on blemishes.
- Lily Lolo - Blush Away - around my nose and on blemishes.
- Bobby Brown Blushes in Pink Sugar

Eyes
- UDPP
- Urban Decay Virgin (Naked Palette) - all over eye.
- E.L.F Eyeliner Pen in Coffee - along top lash.
- The Body Shop mascara in Brown.

Lips
- Dainty Doll Lipstick in In His Kiss

I ended up getting a sample of the foundation as I loved it so much. I will do a full post on it soon, though L has previously reviewed the Moisture Rich Foundation in Alabaster.

Bobby Brown Moisture Rich Foundation

Foundation is not a product I ever really enjoy buying or wearing. Obviously both me and K are pale skinned, so tend to find that most foundation is either too pink and too yellow toned for us. Personally I also suffer from dry skin, and find that most foundation tends to make my nose look dry and flaky.

However this is very close to a HG for me.

I picked it up in 00 Alabaster - the lightest in the range. It's a very close match, but I do sometimes feel as thought it's a little dark for me.

It blends in very well and doesn't make my skin look dry at all - although I would expect this given its name.

It doesn't sit on my skin and look like a mask, which is of course another plus. I want good coverage but I don't want to look as though I'm wearing a mask.

Overall I love the finish that I get, and with a little primer help it tends to last around 8-10 hours. Although it can go a little shiny come late afternoon, but it is a very moisturising foundation so I can't really complain.

Now the downside - it's pricey! It set me back £26.00, which although it's lasted me ages so far I don't think it's really worth it when I'm not too sure about the colour match.

I love everything else about the foundation so really need to find an alternative.

Any recommendations??
