Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in B10 Beige - Pastel

I picked up a sample of this the other day, and after using it yesterday and today, I wanted to give you my first impressions of it.

Really wanted to give this a go after reading reviews. I'm not keen on really heavy foundations and just want to have something nice and light, that helps to even out my skin.

Given that its marketed as an

'Ultra Light Skin Perfecting Makeup for Instant Natural Radiance'

Have to admit that sounds amazing.

I picked up sample in B10 Beige pastel, which was the lightest shade available. However I still think this is too dark for me, but that it an issue I find with most things.

The consistency is very watery, and as I've learnt - you need to shake it alot before use!

It blends in really nicely and does cover the redness around my nose well,

Anyway I wanted to show you two FOTD with the foundations,

DAY 1

Also used:

  • Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in SC1

  • Benefit Erase Paste in Fair

  • Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

  • Benefit Benetint

  • Accessories Bronzer in Golden Sands

  • Palmers Lip Butter in Dark Chocolate and Peppermint

Overall I liked the finish once I was done. By 11am I looked very shiny - blotted throughout the day but this just got worse. Got in the car and the other half said 'your makeup looks a bit heavy' - I was like, what?? this is supposed to be light. But what he really meant was that I looked shiny and he could see the makeup on me, which he doesn't usually notice.

DAY 2

Also used:

  • Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in SC-1

  • Benefit Erase Paste in Fair

  • Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

  • Benefit Benetint

  • Accessories Bronzer in Golden Sands

  • Palmers Lip Butter in Dark Chocolate and Peppermint

(haha I so don't vary my makeup much in the week)

Once again , this got shiny quite quickly and I really wasn't impressed with the finish as the day went on. I use alot of cheaper brands, yet don't seem to notice the foundation on my skin, yet with this I can just see it. Weirdly not when I've actually put it on. It seems to get worse through the day. Got in the car to come home and got 'you look abit greasy' - nice!

Firstly I want to say I don't suffer from very greasy skin. My nose can look very dry with foundation on, although my chin and forehead can go to look a little shiny as the day goes on - but not by mid-morning. So this foundation sounded perfect for me.

I really wanted to like this foundation - but I just don't. Even though it gives me an initial light coverage, the foundation just goes to look uneven and greasy on my skin. Definitely will not be purchasing an actual bottle. Shame cos this sounded perfect.

It priced at £31.65 - which I think is very expensive for what you get anyway.

I went in to Chanel at HOF for this however I thought it was a little too light for me. I asked the SA which foundation was their best seller and they said Vitalumiere. Have to say I love it, it was tough getting a sample pot out of them though lol x

It seems really natural, too bad it doesn't work for you.

I've used the same shade and it only got shiny when I didn't use a good primer. With my Laura Geller Spackle it's awesome!
