Diet Coke and Nails Inc....

I was so excited when I heard that Diet Coke where working with Nails Inc and would be releasing limited edition range. I fully admit to being just a little addicted to both of these haha…

SO I’d already picked up Instyle magazine and got one of the free nail polishes – I went for the Candy. So just the thought of more Nails Inc for free was super exciting!

You just need to pick up two bottles of Diet Coke at any Boots and then simply pick your colour – they’ve released 4 shades (Milan – a red shade, London – griege colour, Paris – a deep purple and New York – a vibrant fuchsia pink). I live in Lancaster and work in Preston and both of my stores had them so you should be ok. My sister has even managed to pick one up in her smaller sized store in Bletchley.

I got a little carried away and picked up 3 shades in total – London (haven’t yet tried a griege colour and really wanted to give it a go), Paris and New York. I would point out I didn’t get these all in one go………………... I went back several times instead!!

I’m not really a red person, so I’m not tempted to go back for Milan (only red I own is a 17 collection one in Cherry Red, which I love!)

I’ve only tried the colours our quickly so far (and will post some photos later) and I already love the London, I can definitely see this as one of my everyday colours. The consistency is good – was worried that they may be a bit poor than usual as they were free but I haven’t found that so far.

Anybody else picked these up yet?

The Fab Pore...

This is one of my recent purchases, brought in my quest to get rid/minimise my pores (or at least the bigger looking ones!).

This is actually my first ever Soap and Glory Purchase and I have to admit I had very high hopes. I'd read alot of good things about S&G products on various blogs so was really excited to give it a go.

I would say my skin is best described as combination - I have a greasy t-zone, but also suffer from dry skin (which is very bad on my nose) and despite being in my mid-20's I seem to still suffer from regulary break outs.

Now The Fab Pore is described as being a '15 minute facial peel - ideal for greasy, spot prone or problem skin, or for a strategic attack on a misbehaving T-Zone'. Given its description as a 'facial peel', I really wasn't expecting to see little green beads - I was expecting more of a creamy/clearer type of product. However, I was put off. The instructions tell you that you need to massage the product onto your face until the beads dissolve and then you can leave it on for either a quick 5 minute refresher or a 15 minute deep cleaning facial. Its quite nice as you get to have a little face scrub before you leave it to remove all the weekly build up from your face that your daily routine doesn't remove. I've given both ways ago and I think I do prefer to use it as the 15 minute facial then the quick 5 minute refresher - I'm not always great at sticking with a rountine so this was definately a great way for me to use it!.

I've only been using this for a couple of weeks but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!. My face feels really great after I'd used it and although I haven't noticed any change in the size of my pores, my face doesn't look as greasy and feels great. This is definately something I would get again and can honestly say I can't wait to try some more of the S&G products. Definately a new addiction haha......

I've also been using this along with
Pears Soap as part of a new skin care routine and really think its the prefect addition to my new rountine.

Regis bargain...

Ooooo look what I picked up today girlies...

Now I LOVE redken products, over the years I have become reliant on them for making my hair shiny and smooth - which is very difficult when you hair afro-carribean hair like me!

So I ran out of my trusty shampoo and conditioner yesterday and as much as I wanted to get travel sized none redken (cheaper) products I just couldn't take the risk! So out I went to the shops and hit Regis for my usual. And the lovely girlie at the till said I could pay the same and get a free shampoo!!!!

Well you can imagine I snatched that deal up!!! Yay! Happytimes!!!

So now I'm just transferring the beautiful products into my travel sized bottles for tomorrow's trip to NYC!! Eeeeek! Exciting!

Lipstick Shout Outs!!

Hey again...
Very busy on the blogging so far this morning haha!!

I just wanted to show some love to a new lipstick I have recently tried alongside one I use all the time.

Like many of you out there, I have recently found the new MUA range at Superdrug and pretty much went wild and bought every product haha!! One I have been wearing all weekend though is a pretty lipstick in shade 2. Its a stunning deep purpley pink which can be seen here ...

Alone, it can be a teeny bit too dry for me, so I have been mixing it with my favourite lipstick - the beautiful Estee Lauder Pure Colour in Crystal Baby...

Crystal baby is a really pretty light pink. It's slightly glossy and I love it because it isn't drying on my lips. In fact, its the kind of colour I look for in a lipgloss but can never find! Using it as a base for the MUA in shade 2 I found that the colour that I got is still a pinky purple, but that it's more like an intense girlie pink yet still quite natural. I found that it was slightly more flattering as the colour was not as dark and still managed to make me look a little more made up than the crystal baby because it highlights the edges of your lips, so that you don't need lip liner. I liked it because it made my lips look more defined, but the colour wasn't so intense that I felt like a fool wearing it!
I will definately be wearing it again and think it's a very good colour given that it only cost me £1.00. It's by far been the best MUA purchase I have made as some of the other colours I have not been as keen on.
I am going to try mixing some of my other lipsticks with my Crystal Baby lipstick and let you know how I get on - it really does seem to be working as a really good base colour!

BarryM Nail Paint in Berry Ice Cream (NOTD)

Ooooooo so I love love love this nail varnish. Seriously. Divine!

It is precisely what I wanted it to be. As I have found with most BarryM nail paint's it needs two coats, but after that you are good. The colour for me is just how you see it in the bottle and even without a top coat it has lasted a couple of days. Very impressive considering these products are such a bargain!!!

Here's a quick swatch pic of it on...
How much do you LOVE it!!! It's sooooooo pretty, by far my most favourite nail varnish of the year. Wearing it ALL the time!
I would seriously recommend it to anyone that wants a proper lilac nail varnish. It doesn't have the pink undertones that all the other ones I have tried have, its a real bluey lilac tone. I can't tell you how much I love this colour! Everyone should have Berry Ice Cream nails, they are just too cute!!!
