Balmi lip balm

Balmi is completely new to me in the lip balm world. Not sure how I've not spotted them before as they're right up my street. However found a selection in my local Boots and after seeing a review by Fee from Makeup Savvy I had to get one. I had a choice of mint, strawberry and raspberry. Love anything berry flavoured!

The packaging is so cute and looks very much like EOS balms. I haven't tried an EOS one so can't really provide a comparison. But I love the packaging and shape of the lip balm. Quick and easy to apply without having to use your finger. The scent is deliciously like raspberry ripple ice creams - disappointingly it doesn't taste like it lol.  As an added bonus it has SPF 15 in it.

Oh and I've attached it to me keys, as there is a little attachment on the bottom. do always on me. Love it and now need the mint!

Bedroom Storage and Accessories

So today I thought I'd share with you a few images of my Bedroom setup/storage etc.  We moved into our new house in August last year and we've been working slowly on getting every room exactly how we want it.    The bedroom is nearly done now - the Hubby has just got to put up a canopy and some lights above the bed.

So here we go,

First off my bedroom furniture is by Laurence Llewelyn Bowen and is lovely and bright pink on the inside.  It's actually marketed as children's furniture but its all normal sizes and is far too pretty  not to be in my room!

The wash bowl and jug belonged to my Nana and a grabbed it when she was having a clear out.  The lovely little box is from Gifts and Pieces

The gorgeous little bunnies and the bird catchall are both Urban Outfitters. Seriously I think the bunnies are the cutest thing ever.

I keep my dressing table quite simple and I actually don't tend to use it to do my makeup - I wear glasses and if I'm not wearing contacts I so can't see clearly enough in it.

The jars are all from car boots.  I love a bargain.

The shape of the room doesn't allow us to place our bedside tables next to the bed - the bed sites in a cove, so we strategically placed them in the room.  On mine is actually my wedding bouquet and a bargain car boot bowl with my cleansers, toners, serums and moisturisers.  Finally the photo is of my Dad who passed away 6 years ago.

My Hubbie's bedside table has my favourite picture from my wedding which is sitting on top of my wedding box (filed with bits and pieces form the day). Along with a heart catchall from Urban Outfitters.

Either side of the bed in the little cove, we have a couple of little shelves.

The shelves include a mix bunch from car boots, Urban Outfitters and Gift and Pieces. I admit I have an Urban Outfitters problem.  The Me to You teddy I've had for years - I actually had each of the letters for my name, but as I got older they looked a little much and I just kept the L.  Oh and my pride and joy is my little R2D2 is a car boot find my Dad got me about 10 years ago.  Weirdly not a massive fan of Star  Wars so a little strange that he got it me but so can't part with it.  It also still beeps when you press a little sections on his front.

Last up is a sign I made for our top table for our wedding. Didn't want to just throw it out after the wedding and I think it looks great on our window sill.

Posh Brats

Today's post is on Posh Brats who offer All-Natural, Organic, Eco-Palm or Palm Free, Cruelty-Free,SLS-free, Animal Friendly, PETA approved, Handmade Bath and Body Products.

Posh Brats approached us to have a look at their website and to try out some of their range. After a quick look at their site we knew we would love their range. The site design is a dirt if shabby chic retro scrapbook design that is super cute! Posh Brats was created by Brittany De Staedtler who states on their site 'I have always been plagued with really "difficult" sensitive skin. My early years were spent in the realm of professional hair and make-up artistry; in this field I traveled the world and honed my formulas. As a Master Cosmetic Chemist, I have the know-how to make nearly any beauty product but I CHOOSE to do it naturally.
If an ingredient is not from a 'natural' source then it has no place in our products!'

Both myself and L suffer with sensitive skin so were excited to try out the range.

I received Hobbity Milled Soap and I only Date Millionaires Body Creme, L received two other items and she will talk about those in a future post!

Everything arrived packed lovely with cute paper and the packaging looked great in the products. I love companies who make the extra little touches as it makes it such a treat to receive your purchases.

But onto the product...

First up Hobbity Milled Soap, the label is cute and though I don't think the colour of the soap is completely appealing but the smell is!

When I used the soap you do end up with a bit if a mess but is left my hands feeling lovely, and for a handmade soap it lathered up really well.

Here's what they say,

'A blend of freshly turned earth, crunchy fall leaves, toasted spices, honeyed mead and leather.
So all handmade soaps have advantages over commercial soaps. But milk soaps offer even more. All milk contains natural emollients, vitamins and triglycerides that moisturize the skin. People who prefer milk soap claim that it is far less drying and harsh than ordinary soap. For those who have sensitive skin or eczema, milk soap is a godsend.'

It is really lovely and retails for £2.00 which is a good price as it will last a while.

Next up is I only Date Millionaires Body Creme,

Here what they say,

'A very tongue-in-cheek but gorgeous blend of ripe strawberries, raspberries, cherries and watermelon with a touch of pink sugar and bubblegum swirled with hunks of almond cream cupcakes.
This amazingly luxurious creme can be used anywhere on the body. It is 100% natural and formulated to sink into your skin and leave it in fantastic condition. This is completely non-comedogenic and sourced from organic products.'

I love love love this, it's so creamy and the smell is divine! And I love the fun labelling but the little jar is great. It retails at £7.50 which is not that cheap for 200g but considering this is handmade and the philosophy behind the company it's ok.

I have been onto the site o see hat else they offer as I am really keen to give more of this brand a go. I love that they do hair care and bath goodies as these are two areas I struggle with (I tend to use baby bubble bath which does not have fun and exciting smells). But I've noticed they do samples sizes to try which is great so I am going to order a few bits and will let you know how I get on.

Have you tried Posh Brats? Do you have any other handmade beauty companies to recommend?

Thanks

Hen Do's

Well for a change we have had a crazy week with lots going on. My sister in-law is getting married on Saturday 23rd so we have had 2 x Hen do and Hubby had the stag do to attend.

The first Hen do was a Moulin Rouge themed night and then this weekend we had a curry and drinks night. Both were great fun! Though the outfits for the Moulin Rouge night looked great!

Then we had Mother's Day, now with me not being near the rest of my family we do a day with my In-laws. This year was Afternoon tea themed, my Hubby made an Malty loaf and a Maderia cake which the little one and I decorated.

We also took inspiration from Pinterest (I'm obsessed!) and made my daughter an art corner with supplies from Ikea, here is the pin.

How has your week been?

Thanks
