A Little Question...

Hey,

Just a little question for our readers.
If you could try a drugstore make-up brand (that you have never used before) what would it be?

To our international followers what UK dugstore brand would you like to try?

Thanks

Colour me Grey

My absolute favourite nail colour in Navy but a very close second is Grey, I love all sorts of greys dark to sparkly. I wanted to show you a couple of my favourites from my collection. As with most of my nail varnishes these are highstreet brands that a readily available and affordable to all - my favourite!

So the paler grey's are George Witchcraft (£1.75), Topshop Cloud (£5.00) and Miss Sporty 420 (£1.99) full swatches are below. My favourite of these is Topshop Cloud, it is a bluer toned grey which I feel looks better on me.
The sparkly greys are E.L.F Metal Madness (£1.50), Accessorize Idol (£4.00), Bourjois Mini 40 (£4.00 ish) and Rimmel Black Pearl (£4.59). These four are my absolute favourite they are dark and sparkly which is my fave combo. I have also thrown in two black polishes as they are certainly cheap and cheerful Bourjois Mini 39 and MUA Shade 2 (£1.00). The MUA shade is great for a £1.00 but the Bourjois is rubbish it is very thin and watery - I have mainly included it to show and say how rubbish it is.

The last nail colour is from my Strictly Coming Dancing nail polish set that I got for christmas. The colour is called Thrilling and as you can see from the swatch below it is all most green toned. Though I love this colour it really doesn't get used very often as I don't find it goes with much at all.

Are you a grey fan, or should it just be for dark gloomy days?

Thanks

Topshop Dash

Well my lipgloss/lipstick draw is beginning to follow a colour theme - light pink/peachy tones. Everything I buy at the moment seems to follow this as well...oops I need to find some different colours that suit me!

One of my recent purchases is Topshop Glaze in Dash which retails at £6.00, topshop state that it is a 'non sticky lip glaze to give smoothed lips with a glossy shine'.
I love the colour but sadly I don't love it on my lips I find it tacky (not sticky) and after applying it I did notice that it is quite similar to 17 Beehive and Jemma Kidd Red freebie lipgloss.

L-R 17 Beehive, Jemma Kidd , Topshop Dash

And actually I prefer both of these shades compared to the Topshop lip glaze, which is a shame as I really like Topshop make-up (you can see my other Topshop items here). So I will not be buying this again and I probably won't even use this up!

Pro's:

  • Colour

  • Price

  • Packing -its very cute

Con's:

  • Not a great choice of colours

  • Feels tacky on

The next items on my list to try from Topshop are there eyeshadows, anyone tried the you can see some of the choice here.

Do you like a peachy pink lip colour? Have you tried Topshop lip colours?

Thanks

Champagne in the Park

Both myself and L have been extremely busy this week with Birthdays! First up was my little one's 3rd Birthday. She ended up with two parties one here in Milton Keynes and the second was back in Wales. You can see some pictures from her birthday below as well as the amazing Hello Kitty cake that L made for the birthday girl.
The second birthday was our Mum, she turned 50 so we decided to take her into London for Champagne in Kensington Gardens while sat on deck chairs - it was great! We also took her off to the British museum for a quick stroll and then in the evening we all went out for food and had some lovely frozen margaritas. L also made a cake for ou Mum, this was a little one decorated as Farmville off Facebook and then she also had another chocolate one for the meal.

So all in all it has been a very busy week for the both of us!

This week on the blog we have been a bit sparse on posts but you can catch-up on our most recent posts here.

Hope you have all had a nice weekend even though the weather has not been great.

Thank you
