Chocolate Cupcake...

As Lush state on their website 'Who wouldn't want to site around with Chocolate on their face?'

This is a facial mask aimed at oily teenage skin, but I find it works great at any age if you suffer from breakouts.  It helps to remove excess oil and calms breakouts.  It contains Rhassoul Mud which absorbs grease, cleans and soothes, Linseed which nourishes and softens the skin, Fresh Mint for toning

Cocoa Butter to moisture.

I tend to use once or twice a month when my skin needs it.  Apply all over and leave for around 5 to 10 mins.  I tend to wipe it off with a muslin cloth as I just find it easier. It's a great little treat for your skin.

Advice - it needs to be stored in the fridge due to the ingredients.

Haven't tried any of the other facial masks, so if anybody has any recommendations or favourites?

Well as its now October I feel its not too early to talk about Christmas (its feels wrong to talk about Christmas in September). Lush have released all of their Christmas items and its made me want to go shopping!
First up we have Abombinaball Bath Ballistic, £2.95 each...'He's abominable, yeti is cute'.

As Lush says,

Next up The Melting Snowman bath melt £1.95,

Lush Jackie Oates

I have said that I would do a post on the new Colour Supplement in Jackie Oates that I picked up in Lush the other day, this is £7.50 for 20g so it certainly isn't cheap.

What Lush say:

'Jackie Oates is a light, soothing and gentle base for pale skin types, which are often sensitive and prone to redness. Helen used soothing oats and honey, and the moisturising, protective qualities of lanolin to calm and hydrate, while providing a perfect porcelain finish. The colour supplements can be used on their own as a foundation or applied locally as a concealer. For a lighter finish, they can be used to create your own tinted moisturiser. Just combine a dab of colour supplement with your favourite moisturiser and blend together for your own specially created mix.'

I have been using this on its own at the moment and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

This item is actually produced with Jackie Oates who is a UK Folk singer, and the product is aimed at 'traditional folk' with fair skin.

I was first given a same sample from Lush and I experimented with using it on its own or with a moisturiser. My first thought on the product is the smell...it definitely smells calming, soothing and herbal (not bad smells really). As you can see from the colour below is is quite pale but they do offer other tones (pink,yellow etc).

I really struggle with finding a pale foundation that gives me the coverage I want (sheer to medium) and matches my colouring. I tend to go for tinted moisturisers and this is what drew me to this product. I originally purchased this in the Light Yellow shade (the lightest available originally) but recently I spotted that they had released Jackie Oates.

This is much more my colour and I like how it blend in and feels on my skin. I feel it leaves me hydrated and soft it even me out and even blend out some of my red areas.

I feel I have finally finished my searched for a foundation I like....Yay! But (there's always a but) I don't actually like the little jar its in. Its a pain to find in my make-up storage and I don't like that you have to scoop some out to use, I will be repurchasing though!

Lush face care update...

Hey,

I just wanted to update everyone on how I have been going with the Lush face care products I purchased. You can see the first post on the items here.
Shortly after the first post I popped back into Lush and picked up the Tee Tree Water as well. I have to say I have been really happy using the Breath of Fresh Air and the Tea Tree Water. I know I should probably only use one of them as my toner but I quite like using both together and so far my skin seems to like them.

The Angels on Bare Skin is a great product, I even like the smell now but I have decided to use this 2-3 times a week as my skin didn't seem to like using it everyday. I have found that this is a great scrub and does leave y skin lovely and soft.

The Vanishing cream with the most expensive of the bunch and though it leaves my skin very soft I do feel it has caused breakouts - which it is suppose to prevent. I would apply this in the morning and by lunch time I feel greasy which never happens to my skin. It would cause breakout to appear throughout the day. I stopped using this on Saturday and I have already noticed a marked improvement. I won't be repurchasing this!

Though I like both toners and the Angel's on Bare Skin I still have not found my prefect skin care routine/products. My search goes on...I am fed up of either trying to stop dry patches or stop breakouts. If anyone can recommend some products to try that would be great.

Lush Facial Range

Just a quick post today!

I am suppose to be cutting back on my spending on everything not just beauty products. But I am having terrible problems with my skin recently its AWFUL, I have combination skin and at the moment I can't seem to keep it happy. I am either suffering with dry patches or a breakout, so I having been trying out and buying some new bits to help solve my skin issues.

So I wanted to show you 3 new products that I recently purchased from Lush (I would link you to the website but its is still down after being hacked). I picked up Angels on Bare Skin, Breath of Fresh Air Toner and Vanishing Cream.

So the first item that caught my eye was the Breath of Fresh Air Toner, L has previously mentioned this toner which you can see here. This retails at £3.45 for 100ml (though it does come in 250g). What Lush say;

'We've taken seaside refreshment and bottled it up just for those who like a cooling walk by the waves. Brimming with seaweed absolute and carrageenan to soften, real sea water to rehydrate dry skin. There's also aloe vera gel to ease dry skin conditions that might be causing you grief.'

This seemed right up my street and exactly what I am looking at.

The second item I was after was the Vanishing cream, which retails at £15.95 for 45g. The first thing I have to say about this is that to me this seems expensive, but I will give it a go. Lush says;

'We've just taken lavender to balance, soothing honey and neroli to brighten and blended them into our lightest cream ever. It sinks in ever so easily and keeps breakout-prone skin hydrated and nourished with our being heavy'

Again this sounded like something I was looking for.

Lastly I got Angels on Bare Skin, which retails at £5.80 for 100g. Now I was actually after Lush's 9 to 5 cleanser but after talking to the helpful shop assistant I decided to give this a go, what Lush say

'Our heavenly lavender roll is a best-seller; once you've used it you'll know why. We've taken a medieval recipe and blended ground almonds to gently scrub, with china clay to deeply cleanse. Generous helpings of rose and lavender oils do their magic balancing and soothing your skin. No matter how naughty you are, wash with this and your face will look simply angelic.'

As per my previous two purchases this sounded like something I needed to try.

I am really looking forward to give these a go and I am hoping they sort my skin out. I will update you shortly on how I am getting on with them and mostly important how my skin is coping. My first thoughts on the items though is the smell! I have to say I am not the biggest fan of some of the products in Lush purely for the strong scents, and the Angels on Bare Skin does have a very strong Lavender scent...maybe even a bit overpowering. Hopefully I can get passed it!

Lush Breath of Fresh Air

Thought I'd do a review of this as I've just finished my first Bottle. So the obvious question that arose was - Do I want to repurchase?

Well firstly the product promises to:

'Tone without tightness. Soften your skin with aloe; feed it with vitamins and minerals. Reduces dryness, soreness and redness'

I've been using this daily since I got it. I use it just before my moisturiser - sprayed directly on to cotton pad and then wiped over mt face (althought some morning I spray it straight on my face and then a bit on a cotton pad and wipe over face)

It can also be sprayed directly on to your face when you need as a mist - also good in the lovely air con offices!

Its got a very refreshing smell - not to strong (which is great for me)

Verdict - Overall I love this product! I suffer from redness around my nose and on my cheeks and I have seen a change in this - not massive but enough! My skin doesn't feel tight after use and its definitley feeling softer. My Skin just looks healthy and feels in much better condition. I just don't think I could be without this is my dailt rountine - so going to repurchase!

Lunchtime outting to......

I absolutely adore Lush – it all smells so yummy and gorgeous!!!! Being the girlie girl that I am, I always go a little bit crazy when I go in hehe!

I only went along today to try out a few products at lunch with my friend but being the weak willed person that am I, I couldn’t help picking up a few bits – Colour Supplement in Light Yellow and Breath of Fresh Air Toner.

Firstly the Colour Supplement...

I have serious problems finding the right colour of foundation or concealer. I have a tendency to look orangey within about an hour or so of putting even the lightest shade on…….soooo not a good look for work haha! Now the idea is that this can either be mixed with your moisturiser, used as a base on it’s on or used on troublesome areas to cover unsightly blemishes. I really like the texture already - which i would describe as more like a tinted moisturiser than a foundation. It’s nice and light.

I’ll probably try it as a bit of everything and see which way I prefer using it to start with . I’ll review in more detail once I’ve had a good go with it (my sister has also picked this up as a possible solution to her wedding day makeup, so I’ll hopefully get her opinion on the product as well)

I also picked Breath of Fresh Air – Toner

I read this on a number of reviews now and in particular on Makeup Savvy, where Fee appears to be having the same problems as me with her pores. I have high hopes for this product as it does appear to have worked really well for people. Will let you know soon……..

On a complete and utter qirlie moment – OMG Lip scrub made with exfoliating caster sugar yum yum yum! They come in bugglegum, mint and chocolate and almond and chocolate yummy!
They’re completely edible!!!

I gave them all a go and I could get seriously addicted…..slightly concerned about calorie content though haha!
