Nicki Minaj for OPI

Love the lastest collection from OPI, although I will admit that despite loving the shades I think I was expecting a bit more with it being the Nicki Minaj collection. Not sure what though!

The collection consists of from Left to Right above:

1. Pink Friday - her signature Pink
2. Did it on 'Em - bright lime Green
3. Fly - bright almost turquoise blue
4. Metallic 4 Life - dark slatey grey
5. Save Me - silver/rainbow glitter
6. Super Bass Shatter - burgundy shatter

I think its the shatter I'm disappointed by despite loving the shade I thought she would have gone for something a bit more out there.

Have to say it's the mini set that I really want, as it contains the dark glitter and not the rainbow one.

Round Up of Week

So like a lot of people, I went back to work on Tuesday after a lovely Christmas break. I was lucky enough to be off from the 22 December until the 4 January, although and despite being a only a 4 day week it's felt very long.

Also this week we have all been battered by the strong winds and horrible weather!!!

Has it been bad near you?

This week on the blog we have had:

- We have had a look back at some of our Favourites Products of 2011.

- L told you about her Beauty Resolutions.

- What did you get in the Jan Sales...K shows you her buys.

- K reviewed Bobby Brown Skin Foundation.

- L gave you a look at her haircare products.

- L admitted her addiction to Pink Lip gloss.

- K showed you a new addition to her lip balm collection.

What have you been up to this week.

Thanks

Dr Bronner Organic Lip Balm

Today's post is on another product from Dr Bronner, you can see my previous post here this time it is on the Organic Lip Balm.
Here is what the Dr Bronner say about the lip balm;
'Not content with only magic soaps, the leading light in all things organic, Dr Bronner's now bestows upon us their utterly delectable and certified organic Magic Lip Balms and Body Balms. Scented using only Fair trade organic essential oils and containing no synthetic ingredients or preservatives these make a perfect natural skin treat.

This mouth-watering range of 100% Organic Lip Balms (RRP £2.95) comes in a variety of sumptuous flavours including Peppermint, Lemon Lime, Orange Ginger, and Naked. All contain jojoba and hemp oil moisturisers which are then locked in with beeswax to rejuvenate tired, chapped lips leaving them silky soft and smooth. The natural ingredients melt into the delicate skin from the very first application protecting lips from the elements and helping them to stay feeling fabulous, looking healthy and smelling beautiful.' I received the Lemon Lime and the Orange Ginger, both smell amazing when you apply them. Though I think the Lemon Lime is my favourite.

When you apply them you can certainly feel the oils in them, though they do feel more creamy on then oily. They also don't need reapplying every 5 minutes like some lip balms.

These have been great additions to my lip balm collection and I have one in my handbag and the other in my desk at work. They have been great for my (very) dry lips.

Thanks

Addicted to..........Pink Lip Gloss

Above we have Barry M Nude (free with Impulse), Missguided Nude (free with a magazine but I can't remember which), Jemma Kidd Petal, Benefit Life on the A list, Dior Lip Polish 002, MAC Cremesheen Just Superb, Gosh Intense Lip Colour 301, NYX Gloss (name/numbers rubbed off sorry), Illamasqua Sheer Gloss in Rousse.

Oops missed out my favourite as it was in the side pocket of my bag as I use it so much!

MAC lip gloss in Curvaceous

This is what I cart around with me on a daily basis. Yep nuts!

I hate being stuck with just one type of gloss on me and I'm far too dis-organised in the morning to sort out which one to take so I take them all - problem solved.

Peaches/Nudes

Love each of these.

They're all perfect for my everyday makeup and which one I use depends on how much or how little makeup I've used that day. All of them have a non-sticky/tacky f to them, however I don't think the consistency of the Jemma Kidd is as good as the others. Favourite of the bunch is the Barry M Nude and the Benefit Life on the A List. The Barry M one has a lovely caramel scent to it.

Pale Pinks

Without doubt my favourite of this lot is the Dior which has differently proved that sometimes it's worth splashing out for amazing quality. It's just gorgeous! Have to admit I'm disappointed with the MAC Cremesheen - loved it when I tried it on but it tends to get a bitty feeling on my lips after a few minutes of applying. Trying to stick with it as it's not cheap at around £11.00.

Intense Pinks - not as opaque as the rest

Not to keen on the shade of the NYX - I picked it up at the IMATS last year and I blame the poor lighting. It looked so much better there. The consistency great though and the colour is very pigmented, so will be trying more. The Illamasqua Sheer gloss is a lovely bubblegum pink that I love to wear in the summer and when I feeling in the mood to look a bit brighter, but hands down favourite here is the MAC gloss. It's gorgeous colour and perfect for everything. I wear it constantly at the moment and definitely need to pick up some spares.

Hair Care

L-R Aussie Hair Insurance leave in conditioner, Twisted Sista Different Strokes Serum, Moroccanoil, TRESemme Split Remedy Serum, Disney Tangled De-tangler spray

So I wanted to share with you the products I'm currently using on my hair, as they're all relatively recent purchases.

1. Aussie Leave in conditioner

Few quick squirts on damp hair and it leaves it silky soft all day. It has a lovely almost candy sweet scent to it which I quite like. I find my hair is just more manageable if I include this in my routine.

2. Twisted Sista Different Strokes Serum

I actually won this on Twitter just as my Tigi BedHead one ran out. One little pump does help with the Frizz, but I have to be very careful with how much I use. Go a little overboard and I end up greasy looking. I will use it up, but it's so not as good as my beloved BedHead Control Freak.

3. Moroccanoil

After reading countless reviews I knew my hair needed this! It's very dry and lacking in any type of moisture and this little gem helps bring some well needed hydration and shine to my hair. I rub a little on the ends of my heir when still wet and I a little more once dry. Do be careful if your hair has s tendency to go greasy quick, with just how much you use. Better to use a little at first and see how you get on.

4. TRESemme Split End Remedy

I'm not sure if this actually repairs any of my split ends but what I do know is that along with everything else I use it perks up the whole condition of my hair, in particular the ends so it must be doing something. Once again a little goes a long way!

5. Disney Tangled De-Tangled

Well this was actually purchased for my step-daughter who has terrible knotty hair. But as I'm a big kid I've ended up using it as well. It actually works really well as a de-tangler and also a leave in conditioner. It's great to use it the morning to stop me damaging my hair.

It seems as though I use a lot, but once I've applied these I don't use any other products on my hair. They all yelp fight the ongoing dryness battle
