Liz Earle on QVC

The lovely people over at QVC have been kind enough to send over the Liz Earle 4 Piece Essential Discovery Set to try.  After scrolling through the Beauty section of QVC , I'm so impressed with the long list of Beauty brands that are available.  There's a wide list of products from makeup to skincare with some great sets and offers thrown in.

Now we're huge fans of Liz Earle on the blog.  Seriously obsessed with the Cleanse and Polish which was my first real taste of the brand.  Anyway onto the set,

The set includes the core selection from their skincare range - namely the Cleanse and Polish, Instant Boost Skin Tonic and the Repair Moisturiser day cream, along with two Muslin Cloths (love these things!).  The products are 50ml sizes for cleanse and Polish and Skin Tonic, and 15ml each for the moisturisers.  Impressively the kit included both the Normal/Combination and the Dry/Sensitive which at least gives you a chance to try out both formula's to decide which is best.  

Personally the Dry/Sensitive is the one for me.

For me, all the products are gentle on my skin and I have to say my skin is left feeling soft and refreshed.  The Cleanse and Polish is without doubt the best cleanser I've ever used and the only one I've ever repurchased (lost count of how many I've been through).  The products just work fantastically well together and the easily deal with the horrible way my skin had got with the cold weather.

The Discovery Set is a great way to try out the brand for the first time or give as a present for someone else to try out - we did this a while back for my mum to have a go!  At £21.76 it's a great price for what your getting especially with the choice of the moisturisers and two muslin clothes and baring in mind that the full sized Cleanse and Polish at 100ml costs £14.25 and includes one muslin cloth.

Liz Earle Foot Scrub

Today's post is on Liz Earle Foot Scrub.

I love the efforts they go to with the packaging.

With the sun now being out (yeah!) I need to get my feet ready for my sandals and flip flops. So I have started to reach for my Liz Earle Foot Scrub.

Here's what Liz Earle say about it,

'This hard-working scrub gently exfoliates hard, rough skin on heels and soles, leaving feet ultra-soft and buffed to perfection.

Massage daily onto damp skin, concentrating on dry areas such as heels, toes and balls of your feet.

Naturally active ingredients include natural pumice to remove dead skin cells, softening avocado and wheatgerm oils rich in vitamin E, and the invigorating aromas of peppermint and rosemary essential oils.'

To use you apply to damp skin and massage into your skin, paying particular attention to stubborn dry patches (heels and balls of feet).

It's smells so lovely and refreshing from the peppermint. It's quite a think cream with tiny pumice included. As you start the rub this into damp skin the cream dissolves and the pumice will start to exfoliate. It doesn't over do it but ends up making my feet feel lovely and soft. If you have stubborn patches on your heels Liz Earle recommend to use a foot file first.

This has become a summer essential for me...hopefully the weather will last. It retails at £11.00 for 100ml and can be brought here.

Liz Earle Skincare Essentials

 

So today we wanted to give you a heads up about a great offer Liz Earle runs every month – basically it’s their Your Monthly Skincare Essentials.



It includes Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish, Instant Boost Skin Tonic and Skin Repair Moisturiser. Your also usually get a little extra treat – this month being the Energising Body Lotion (I've linked our previous Liz Earle Reviews).  It costs you £41.00 and you get free postage and packaging. Normal price for the package would be £63.00, which is a great saving.


Now my mum recently purchased this after hours of me of raving about the Cleanse and Polish and loving the skin repair moisturiser, she decided that this was a great way to buy her moisturiser and try the other products. I think she purchased hers in February and received the Intensive Nourishing Treatment Mask and also as she had stated that she was recommended the offer by a friend she was sent a sample size of the Cleanse and Polish with a Muslin cloth.


Overall if you like the products this is a great way to purchase them cheaply! I’m actually keen to get the Cleanse and Polish trio, which means you save around £1 on each and you have spares.

Liz Earle Botanical Shine Treatment

This is a lovely little treat of a product from Liz Earle. 

We've previsouly tried the Botantical Shine Shampoo and Conditioner, which has become our mums favourite products.  Now this is a exact treatment within the range to help tame and smooth your hair.  It's states that is for Frizzy, Coarse or very Dry hair, but it would easily make a nice treatment mask for any hair type.

As with all Liz Earle products, it contains a number of naturally active ingredients,

"including red algae to help enhance the hair’s natural barrier, cotton extract to improve smoothness and sumac wax to smooth and tame even the most unmanageable hair, plus apple and orange extracts to boost shine"

How to use:

After applying shampoo, massage into your hair and leave for around 10mins or 30mins if your hair needs a lot of love! and then rinse.

It leaves my hair silky smooth, which is a definite perk with my hair type (my dad once described the texture like wire wool - charming!).  It's a lovely little treat to use when your hair feels over styled etc.  Overall a great treatment.

Priced at £14.00 for 150mlm - a little goes a long way.

Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser

I ran out of my usually Hot Cloth Cleanser - the amazing Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, and because I don't have a local store etc that I can go and pick up another one, I actually thought I would give the Superdrugs' Vitamin E version a go.  I'd heard a lot of good things so thought what the hell!

Firstly you get a lot of product for the price (around £5.99) and you also get a muslin cloth in the box. Absolute bargain!  Secondly the texture is similar to that of the Cleanse and Polish - although I still feel the Liz Earle version is thicker, which I do prefer.  I also quite like the smell.

It goes on easily and does remove my makeup including my eye makeup - although I do feel like I have to go over with a bit more toner to remove the last few traces.

All in all its a great cleanser and I love removing my makeup this way and it leaves my skins soft and moisturised.

But, yes there is a but! I still prefer my Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish despite the savings.  I feel like it removes all traces of my makeup and leaves my skin in such fantastic condition after use.  I seriously miss it in my routine if I'm not using it and I have to admit that with the Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser I just don't feel like that.  Don't get me wrong it's a fantastic product if you don't want to fork out for the Cleanse and Polish and does exactly what you need it to do!  For me, Cleanse and Polish is the only skincare product I have at the moment that I would constantly re-purchase.

And with that in mind I got very excited on the weekend as I got this little treat of my mum.  She's recently made a purchase off the Liz Earle website and got this little sample,

I am beyond happy and so will be skin be in a few uses!

Liz Earle Bust Treatment

This is not the usually thing I try from Liz Earle - actually never considered using any of these types of products in the past but thought what the hell I'll give it s go. As with all Liz Earle products it's packed with natural ingredients:

"Naturally active ingredients include kigelia extract, organic rosehip oil, cranberry seed oil, pomegranate extract and mangosteen extract to visibly plump and smooth. Rich in omega-3, GLA and antioxidants, this powerful treatment is perfect for skin which has lost elasticity, firmness or is ‘crepey’ due to sun exposure, age, weight change, pregnancy or menopause, making it look and feel rejuvenated"

The treatment itself has a serum consistency with little soft beads which burst when your rubbing it in.I'm not going to into great detail about how to use it - feels slightly wrong! Simply you apply it twice a day as per the directions included.

At £27.25 it is rather steep and I'm not entirely convinced that I'd seen any difference. But i haven't really stuck to a rountine of applying it - realisticially I was using it once a day every few days, and at 28 I haven't really got problems I need to fix yet (although maybe if I get in first! lol)

I think I need to give it a proper go - may try it before the summer months.

Liz Earle Botanical Essence No 1

When I received this I wasn’t even aware that Liz Earle had a perfume in their range. My initial opinion was that as usually the packaging was perfect, making the whole think look and feel expensive. It would make such a gorgeous gift for someone.

It’s a lovely naturally scented perfume – very musky aromatic scent to it. Sounds a bit strange but it really works. It makes it a great everyday scent which is very suited to the winter months. I find it too strong for a summer fragrance – I like my summer scents quite fruity.

If I’m honest I can’t see everyone liking this and personally I think the scent would suit someone more mature. I do prefer something with either a floral or fruity scent, but obviously it all depends on what works for you.

Liz Earle ...TV?

Well we received an interesting email in our inbox. Liz Earle are branching out and are stepping into the world of TV.

We think it will certainly help people who are new to the brand to get to know the brand and what they stand for. It will also help to educate shoppers on how to use the products they are purchasing properly.

Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint

Now I know you guys have seen lots of posts on Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint, but I just wanted to give my opinion on it.
First off as with all Liz Earle products they arrive looking wrapped up lovely and then they have lovely simple packaging. I really like the dark blue packaging. What Liz Earle say about the product;
'The perfect way to enhance your skin. Our rich and creamy, yet lightweight formula leaves all skin types looking naturally dewy, even and radiant. With mineral UV SPF15, it’s enriched with our own blend of natural source vitamin E, borage and avocado, specially selected to work in harmony with our skincare range.'
It is available in 3 shades Bare 01, Beige 02 and Beach 03, and retails at £21.00 for a 40ml tube.

Liz Earle even offer a 'First Time, Right Shade' service, this allows you to get a sample of the Sheer Tint first to make sure you are completely happy with the colour to help reduce waste.

I have shade Bare 01 as it is suits fair and alabaster complexions, from the swatch you can see it looks ok against my skin tone.
But it does end up blending into my colouring alright.
What you can also notice from the swatch is that it looks quite thick. Now when I saw the words 'Sheer' and 'tint' in the name I would have though it was like a tinted moisturiser. That it would feel weightless on my skin and be a very light coverage. The consistency is more like a foundation,. Also the Sheer Tint contains SPF 15, which is great but I as with many products that contain SPF it smells of it. When I have it on I can smell it...which is odd. Once I applied I feel my skin is slightly tacky if not a little greasy. As my skin is combination to dry I do like to have a 'dewy' light foundation but this was a little much for me. I had to apply some powder to certain areas of my skin, which I never do!

Here is me with it on,

I like the shade on me but I am not sure of the feel on my skin or the smell. It is just a bit too greasy and heavy for me.

I know many people will be great fans of this but I hope Liz Earle continue to develop their make-up range and that I will find something else to love.

Liz Earle Treatment Masks

So on our little blog, both K and myself have a lot of love for Liz Earle. We both suffer from sensitive skin and definitely need something gentle yet effective to use. So far we've not been disappointed with their products, as you can tell from our past reviews.

On the run up to my wedding, Liz Earle kindly sent me two face masks to try, in order to achieve a lovely glow on my big day.

So I received the Intensive Nourishing Treatment Mask, on the left and Brightening Treatment Mask, on the right.

First up the Brightening Mask - so this is specifically for dull skin. This is a big problem for me. I don't sleep all that well and with having fair skin, some days I can end up having a greyish undertone to my face. Obviously, planning a wedding is quite stressful, so I was really concerned that I wouldn't have a natural glow to my skin on the big day.

What Liz Earle have to say,

Problem: dull skin.

Solution: our fast-acting ‘minute’ mask instantly revitalises. Containing stimulating camphor oil and toning witch hazel to help give your skin a natural-looking radiance.

Use in the morning or whenever a quick fix is needed.

Naturally active ingredients include aloe vera to help cool and soothe, toning witch hazel and purifying white clay.

It should be noted that this isn't recommend for sensitive skin, but I haven't had any problems with it. However everybody's different.

Due to the clay in the product, its quite thick but its simple enough to apply. It also includes Aloe Vera and Witch Hazel. You can really smell the Witch Hazel.

You use it whenever you feel that you need a pick me up. You apply around 1 to 2 pumps to clean, dry skin and leave for between 30 secs to 2 mins. You then gently wipe off the residue with a muslin cloth which comes with it.

Just to let you know you get a slight tingling sensation would applied.

It's a great pick me up, and I use it whenever I look like the walking dead in the morning.

Next up the Nourishing Mask - design for dry, dehydrated or stressed skin. Another perfect mask for the run up to a wedding.

What Liz Earle say,

Problem: dry, dehydrated or stressed skin.

Solution: this deeply rehydrating ‘moisture’ mask will help to replenish, calm, condition and moisturise skin.

Apply to face and neck and relax for 10-15 minutes.

Naturally active ingredients include St John’s wort to soothe, borage to help lock in moisture and rose scented geranium to help tone and balance .

This is a lot creamier compared to the Brightening mask and contains St John's Wort, Borage, Comfrey and Rose Scented Geranium.

You use this as often as you feel you need to. You apply a thick layer of cream and leave for 10 to 15 mins. After this use a muslin cloth to gentle wipe off the residue.

Once again this one is also a great pick me up. I tend to use it once a week to combat any dry skin. It's also great if you've had a hectic week and your skincare regime has gone out the window.

Both have become a staples in my weekly skincare regime.

Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion

I was kindly sent this through to try out just before my wedding. Which I have to say was perfect. Seriously planning a wedding is beyond stressful - so wasn't even getting more than about 5 or 6 hours sleep a night and even less on the run up to the day.

Firstly, as with all Liz Earle products it contains naturally active ingredients. In this case cornflower, witch hazel and organic aloe vera. It's described as 'a gentle herbal lotion to soothe and refresh tired, puffy eyes and remove light eye make-up. Naturally active ingredients soothe and revitalise tired eyes'

Directions:

• Apply to cotton pad (apologises I'm out and had to use kitchen roll for the pic)
• Sweep over eyelids and lashes to clean and wake up your eyes
• For revitalising, leave the pads on both eyes for around 5 to 10 minutes and relax.

I quickly sweep this over both eyes each morning and it really does help with my horrible sore and tired eyes. It doesn't seem to matter what time I go to bed, I still wake up with a slight soreness to my eyes - they're just very sensitive. However this seems to take away that initial feeling and just makes you feel much more awake.

I also like to use it for the longer period as recommended. It's great if you have a bit of extra time, just to lie back and relax with the cotton pads on. Actually did this on the morning of my wedding with my mum!

I'd highly recommend this for anyone who suffer from sore, sensitive and tired eyes.

Liz Ealrle Botantical Shine Shampoo and Conditioner

Ok so Ned a.k.a our Mum is back.

A couple of weeks ago Liz Earle wanted to know if we wanted to let our Mum try their Shampoo and Conditioner as a Mothers Day treat.

We jumped at the chance to let her try them, as we both know that she's been feeling as if it's been a bit more dry than usual.

So she was sent the Shampoo which is for all hair types and the Conditioner for Dry or Damaged Hair.

So anyway over to Ned,

Hair Type – Coloured, rather dry, but can be a bit course rather than frizzy.

I'm happy with my current shampoo and conditioner, but I do find that I have to use straighteners to calm in down my hair. Although it does settles down a bit by the next day.

Also I can have quite an itchy scalp (thought this was due to hairdryer).

Shampoo, oh I love it and love the smell its gorgeous.

Best way to describe it is invigorating, felt I should wash my body with it too!!!!

It leaves by hair feeling great and also noticed a few days in that my scalp hasn't been itching!

Conditioner, so thick and creamy could be a body lotion!!

Lovely smell.

Didn’t need to use my straighteners - which is obviously going to help with the condition of my hair. Been using for almost 2 weeks now and really seen an improvement with my and my scalp!
