Models Own Eyelash Curler

I had recently dropped my eyelash curlers on the floor and they broke....I was devastate as I was just about to use them and I don't have a back up. That lunch time I popped into Boots to pick a new pair up. I decided on this Model Own pair, I mainly got them as they looked nice....I know not a great reason.
These cost me £6 from Boots but now on Models Own website they are showing as £7, you can talk a look at them here. Here is what Models Own say,
'Use this professional Models Own Eyelash Curler to create show stopping lashes! The engineered handle helps steady your hand and creates fuller and more defined lashes.'

I may have picked these up for the wrong reason but these are brilliant! I always like to curl my lashes and these have made a great difference, they really open my eyes up and lift my lashes.

The handles on these make it so easy to grip and they make it easy to grip your eyelashes well without over squeezing.

I don't think I have owned a pair that aren't heated that have worked this well before.

All in all I am so happy with my purchase, these work brilliantly well and so much better than my last pair.

Have you tried these? What are your favourite eyelash curlers?

Thanks

Update - Myleene Klass Nails

Hey,

L did a post on these a week ago but I just wanted to do an update on the styles I had received. If you want to catch up on L's post you can here.. These are Myleene Klass nail wraps in Gold Glitter and Leopard print.
As L said there is a choice of 16 styles that come with 24 wraps included. These are applied without heat, you just have to peel, stick them on and then use a nail file to remove the excess. Well this would prove to be my downfall!

I was rubbish at selecting the right size wrap but luckily I wasn't too far off but I did not like how you removed the excess. L gave a good tip in her post, she said to actually trim the wrap a little first before applying then file off. I just applied mine as they were and then removed the excess as instructed. I was not impressed at how they turned out. I had makes and bumps along the tips. It also seemed weird to be filing my nails, when they didn't require it, just to remove the excess.

Can you see the bump on my middle finger? Not impressed. These stayed on for 30 mins before I got fed up and took them off.

I am going to try again with the gold and I will try L's tip about trimming them a little beforehand.

As L had said these are available in Asda, Boots, Debenhams or JML Direct from £5.99.

Have you tried these or other wraps? What are your hints and tips?

Thanks

Hey,

I know you have probably already seen loads of posts on this week's Boots Gift of the Week (I know I have), but just in case here its is.

This week Boots are running the Soap & Glory Big Splendour set for £25 (was £60).

Last year when Boots reduced Soap & Glory set before Christmas stock went so quick it was crazy. This year the offer will run from today Friday 16th December to Friday 24th December. This set will not be available on the 3 for 2 offer.

This year the set contains:

· Calm One, Calm All™ 500ml A double function bubble bath soak. With a built in body lotion and a moisture magnetising skin conditioner you’ll be smoothed while you’re soothed!

You will be getting such a great mix of hand, body and face products! The total RRP for the products (what Boots is selling them for singularly) is about £70....so bargain!!!. It is a great way to test out lots of different items from Soap & Glory as well. Last years box helped me discover Hand Food and the Off Your Face Wipes, which are now both staples in my regime.

Are you tempted? I know I am!

Next Diamonds

I'd seen Fee from Makeup Savvy comment on this before I really fancied giving it a go. I'm a huge fan of the Next perfumes with Define being one of my favourites.

This is said to smell like Miss Dior Cherie and having given it go and then smelling the original I'd have to agree.

Such a little bargain for £6.99 for 30 ml and fits perfect in your handbag without being big and heavy. Also it's only a bargainous £10 for 75ml

Myleene Klass Nail Wraps

This I'd another addition to the Nails wraps in the Market, this time from Myleene Klass (not quite sure why).
- I've actually never tried any before so quite excited!

There's a total of 16 styles from love hearts to sparkle, and each pack contains a total of 24 wraps so plenty of size choice. I was sent the stars and flowers above and K received the leopard prints and gold glitter ones. I actually really love the range of patterns and colours.

These are applied without heat - just peel and stick. If like me you haven't used any before, I still found it quite difficult. The sticking bit is fine but it's the filing bit. You apply the whole thing as it is and then file to the right size. In the end I was having that much trouble that just cut then to the right size and then filed them.

End Result

Love how they look and was impressed that I only ended up with a few bumps. Disappointingly they began to peel at the edges within 1-2 hours. Now I did apply over fake nails but still very disappointing!

Will try again on my natural nails and I'll get K to have a go as well and update everyone.

£5.99 from Asda, Boots, Debenhams, Wilkinsons or JML direct

Maybelline Rose Dream

Hey,

This post is on a product that I am disappointing in. I picked this up on a recent trip to Morrisons. They had a basket full of reduced items and I though why not give it a go for £2.55, these normally retail at £7.19 in Boots.

This is Rosy Dream from the Colour sensational range. The packaging is cute and the colour is sort of a pale blue toned pink, a bit bubblegum pink. It has a sheer consistency in the swatch below but came out a lot more pigmented on the lips. Also on the hand swatch it seems glittery but again on the lips its different.
My main issue with this is that it shows up all my imperfection on my lips i.e any dry patches etc :(

Though I have seened reviews out there stating that this a great bubblegum pink so maybe I am just being picky with it.

Have you tried this? Are you a fan of Maybelline Colour Sensation lippies?

Thanks

Today's post is on a Christmas gift from Dirty Works which is available from Sainsbury's. This is the Bathtime Bliss Set which retails at £10.00, you can check out the other products here.

The set come in a barrel and contains your bathtime essentials.

Inside you get All of a Lather Body Wash (200ml), Bare Necessity Body Lotion (300ml), Massive Body Puff and a Do Not Disturb sign.

First off the body puff is amazing...its massive! And the colours are great!

The All of a Lather Body Wash smells lovely and refreshing due to the Lemongrass extract.

The Bare Necessity Body lotion contains Shea Butter, Coca Butter and Vitamin E to help leave your skin lovely and smooth.

Now if your like me my first thought was this looks a lot like Soap & Glory...and it does but this is more affordable. For £10.00 this is a great size gift and would make a lovely pampering set for Christmas. Though they are not the most luxurious products, they are value for money and smell great definately worth a look at Sainsbury's.

Thanks

Round up of the week

Hey,

Here is this week's round-up of the week.

Both myself and L have been on our work Christmas Do's this week. I had a masquerade and casino theme. All in all we both had a great time. I also had a Christmas night out with my friends that was great too.

Saturday saw me pop up into Milton Keynes with little sis, mum, hubby and little one to watch the Redbull Homerun. It was sooooo cold but it was soooo worth being able to see the cars close up! Here is F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel.
This week on the blog we have had:
- L showing you some of the Bourjois Paris Delhi Shanghai Lippies.
- L reviewed the Liz Earle Bust Treatment.
- K showed you the Couture by Nails Inc.

Thanks

Couture by Nail Inc

Hey,

I got a great email through this week with a brilliant gift idea from Nails Inc. The have released Couture by Nails Inc that retails for £20 but it allows you to design, create and name your polish.

£20 does seem steep for a nail polish but I would love one of these!

What do you think?

Thanks

Liz Earle Bust Treatment

This is not the usually thing I try from Liz Earle - actually never considered using any of these types of products in the past but thought what the hell I'll give it s go. As with all Liz Earle products it's packed with natural ingredients:

"Naturally active ingredients include kigelia extract, organic rosehip oil, cranberry seed oil, pomegranate extract and mangosteen extract to visibly plump and smooth. Rich in omega-3, GLA and antioxidants, this powerful treatment is perfect for skin which has lost elasticity, firmness or is ‘crepey’ due to sun exposure, age, weight change, pregnancy or menopause, making it look and feel rejuvenated"

The treatment itself has a serum consistency with little soft beads which burst when your rubbing it in.I'm not going to into great detail about how to use it - feels slightly wrong! Simply you apply it twice a day as per the directions included.

At £27.25 it is rather steep and I'm not entirely convinced that I'd seen any difference. But i haven't really stuck to a rountine of applying it - realisticially I was using it once a day every few days, and at 28 I haven't really got problems I need to fix yet (although maybe if I get in first! lol)

I think I need to give it a proper go - may try it before the summer months.
