NOTD Model Owns Purple Poppy

This is my first Models Own purchase. Annoyingly my local Boots don't stock any and I can only purchase from River Island. Also I'm really not sure why, but they only seem to have pale colours. So luckily for me, the Boots by my mums stock them!

So this is Purple poppy


I love the colour and this is with only one coat. Loving the look for autumn.

I applied it yesterday afternoon and there is a little tip wear but nothing major. It went on easily and with no steaks. I was playing with it in work ;) so I only did the one coat but I would usually go for two.

For £5.00, I'm really impressed and will definitely be purchasing more.

Neal's Yard Nourishing Orange Flower Daily Moisture

As usual over the summer, there was a lot of lovely freebies in magazines and one of the many that I picked up was the Neal's Yard Moisturiser, which I think was with Instyle.


I'd fancied trying some of their products anyway so this was the perfect chance.

Nourishing neroli and antioxidant pomegranate oils intensely moisturise, soothe and protect dry skin in a light, easily absorbed lotion."

Also this had the perfect description for my skin. I suffer from quite bad dry skin on my nose (it always looks flaky), but I tend to break out with heavy creams, so its descriptions a light sounded great.

It doesn't disappoint either. It has a very light weight texture to it - almost serum like in a sense. It blends in easily and doesn't leave me at all greasy. If anything it really seems to matte my skin out without drying it. I usually go for cream moisturisers so having a lotion was a nice change.

Now I have said this before - I'm not the biggest fan of strong smelling products and this is definitely one of them, however I stuck with it. Also don't be fooled by the orange in the name, as its the 'orange flower', so its smells quite aromatic.

I've actually just finished the tub I got free and I'm very pleased with the results. My skin has been left lovely and smooth. The dry flaky skin has disappeared of my nose - which is amazing, especially given the temperature drop recently. Also I've not suffered any breakouts from it - which due to the natural oils within the products, I was a little scared of.

Overall - really loved using the moisturiser, its seems to have really fitted in well with my new routine. Only down side for me is the price. You can purchase it from the website

, at either £22.00 for 100ml or £7.00 for the 25 ml (which is the same size as the freebie). I know that doesn't seem a terrible price for a moisturiser I've enjoyed using, but I think it just depends on how long the 100ml lasts me. Have to admit the 25ml went a long way.

Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a lightweight, non-greasy moisturiser for dry skin. It would be perfect for the cold winter months ahead.

NOTD 21st birthday - Barry M Nail Effects

Just a quick NOTD.

My little sister turned 21 on Thursday and one of the little treats I got her was the new Barry M nail effects.

We're off out for a family meal tonight to celebrate and thought we'd give it a go.

All you do is choose a base colour and once it's dry, you apply one coat of the nail effects over the top. It applies evenly and then goes patchy - very strange but such a good look afterwards

Liz Earle - Cleanse & Polish™ Hot Cloth Cleanser

Now I know you can find quite a few blogs reviewing Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, and this will probably seem quite repetitive to some. However it was from reading other peoples blogs that I stumbled across it and give it a go – so this is mainly for the people who haven’t heard of it before or tried it yet.

I got this back at the beginning of July, just after my birthday. I’d seen loads of reviews raving about it and was desperate to try it! Now I live in Lancaster and the only place to buy any Liz Earle products is John Lewis (Manchester Trafford Centre), so not really that convenient or online. Luckily I went to Trafford with my birthday money and treated myself. I waited a while to review as I wanted to make sure that I was happy with the results. Also as I’ve nearly finished my first tub I thought this would be a great time to review as I’m obviously considering whether I would re-purchase.

Anyway, I brought the Starter Kit for £13.00 – that includes the 100ml tub and 2 muslin cloths (sadly I only have one of the cloths left as I lost the other one when I was on my sister’s Hen Do in Milton Keynes L )

How to use: - (from the site)

Cleanse daily morning and night using this two-step process:

Step 1: Massage 1 or 2 pumps gently onto dry skin over face and neck. Free from mineral oil, its rich and creamy texture swiftly removes all traces of face and eye make-up, including stubborn mascara.

Step 2: Rinse the pure muslin cloth in hand-hot water and wring out before gently polishing off the cream to gently remove dead skin cells and help reveal clean, soft and radiant skin.

Splash your face with cool clean water and moisturise.

So I only use this in the evening and only use one pump – you could use two but for me one’s enough. I do occasionally use it in the mornings so it’s not that I find it a problem or anything, I just don’t usually have much time.

It’s has a lovely creamy texture and I LOVE the eucalyptus smell. It’s gorgeous!

It removes all my makeup easily and even does a great job on eye makeup – I usually just run a quick swipe of eye makeup remover over each eye once I’m done to pick up the last few bits of mascara and that’s it.

It makes my skin feel so soft and I haven’t suffered any tightness after using, which is probably a first for me. I’ve also seen a complete change to my complexion, that even the fiancé noticed (he’s usually obvious to everything)! My redness has reduced on my chin and cheeks and I’ve had fewer breakouts.

Verdict – LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product! I couldn’t recommend it more, it just does everything I need. It’s also really sped up my nightly routine.

Now I just need a good moisturise to go with it for the winter months!
