Look Beauty Double Hit Lip Rose Riot

For ages I had wanted to try Look Beauty and when I found it in the Northampton Superdrug I did go a bit crazy for L and myself. I did a previous post here on some of the other items I had bought.

Today's post is on Look Beauty's Double Hit Lip.

Here's what Look Beauty say,

'Universally flattering and as tan enhancing as a white dress, these colour pop shades look amazing, whether gloriously glossy or not! All the trends covered - matte, glossy or combine the two.'

The shade I have is Rose Riot.

As you can see you have a lipstick at one end and a gloss at the other, so you can create 3 looks which you can see above. The shade is a corally pink which really pops, though the gloss is a lot paler than the lipstick. The lipstick gives quite a matte finish so I do like the gloss over the top, yet the gloss tends to be a bit tacky (which I hate).

I have really fallen in love with this (though it's a bit bright for me) the staying power of the lipstick s fantastic! I really need to test out the normally lipsticks now!

These normally retail at £8 with a choice of 5 shades. Yet currently Look Beauty are running some summer offers and this is half price at £4.

You can purchase Look Beauty exclusively from Superdrug, you can check out the store's here and you can check out the rest of the range and purchase from here.

What do you think? Have you been able to try anything from the Look Beauty range?

Thanks

Avene - solutions for sensitive, redness prone skin....

(l-r Antirougeurs - relief concentrate for chronic redness, Hydrance - rich hydrating cream, Creme pour peaux intolerantes - skin recovery cream)

(as above)

Both myself and K suffer from sensitive skin that tends to get a a lot of redness around around our nose and on our chin.  It's an absolute nightmare when applying foundation/concealer as you always feel you've got to use a bit more in these areas to hid it!  So when we were offered the opportunity to try out some of the range we jumped at the chance as we've both heard good things about the range for sensitive skin.  What made the  whole thing even better was that we were then specifically asked what our skin concerns were and we would be sent products to deal with it.

Now as you can see above, we only received 5ml sized tubes - which isn't much at all, but we actually received around 3 of each which makes a much better sample size.

Antirougeurs Relief Concentrate for Chronic Redness

This is a daily cream to help reduce sensitivity and reactive prone skin.  It's instantly become my go to moisturiser, as I've noticed a reduction in the redness on my chin almost instantly as well as a slight reduction in the redness around my nose which has all lead to me applying less makeup and hence looking less cakey in these areas.

Hydrance Rich Relief Cream for dry skin

This is for dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin.  Ticks all the boxes for me really.  I always feel like my skin is lacking in moisture and on these days I just apply this in the morning or the evening to perk it up.  It's not something I would use every evening but definitely on the days when I feel I need the extra boost.

Skin Recovery Cream

Now this is a calming cream for sensitive skin which is great to apply in the evenings after you've cleansed and toned.  It's great for me as my skin does tend to go a bit crazy sometimes in the evenings after I've taken my makeup off.  I tend to look way to flushed in my cheeks (not always but now and again) so this is brilliant at relief it.

Overall I think the selection of products we received are fantastic for people who suffer with dry, sensitive, redness prone skin.  They range seems to be gentle and calming as well as providing the moisture you need.

Orly Electronica in Shockwave

Today's post is a nail of the day featuring Orly's new Electronica collection.

The shades from left to right are:
Decoded: Slate grey creme
Preamp: Girly pink with gold shimmer
Shockwave: Royal blue creme
Syncho: Duochrome pink/gold

I have swatches Sockwave below.
Again this applied great and I love the handle on Orly nail polishes, it also dried quick which is another bonus. I love the formula and finsh of Orly, they are fantastic. I am becoming quite a fan, especially as I can get the mini nail polishes to £5 in my local Boots.

I am just not convinced I like the colour on my skin tone but I could see this suiting so many other skin tones. I am just a bit too pale! I have seen other images where this looks more Royal Blue but on me and the photos I took it seems more inky which is probably why it doesn't suit me.

Another great collection!

These are currently available from Beauty Bay for £7.95 or £12.95 for a mini 4 pack.

What do you think? Are you an Orly fan?

See our previous Orly posts here.

NOTD Barry M Blue Moon

Just a quick NOTD for you!
This is Barry M Moon Blue, my lovely colleagues from work got it me for helping their team out!
This is such a lovely shade. It's pale powdery blue with a slight shimmer running through it. But for those who do not like a shimmery polish, it isn't really look shimmery once applied and dried.

The polish is quite sheer, it took 3 coats for the finish above (4 would have been better!). It such a gorgeous shade for the price though, it's aso very flattering on. A great summer shade without being too bright or in your face. It would be lovely as a holiday nail look!

These retail at £2.99 and you can purchase here.

Are you a Barry M fan? What's your favourite shade?

You can see our previous Barry M posts here.

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover

Today's post is on Bourjois Magic Nail Polish remover.
Here is what Bourjois say,

'Abra-cadabra!!!

Magic in a pot!

Nail polish is instantly removed with the touch of a magic wand!

For each nail, simply Dip-Twist-Remove in 1 second without any cotton wool.

Your nails will be polish-free in just 1 second*!

Plus, its red berry and vanilla fragrance leaves nails delicately scented.

And…it’s good for my nails!

- Acetone-free formula - gentle on nails and cuticles

- Enriched with nourishing sweet almond oil

- Paraben-free

- Dermatologically tested'

After seeing this around in the blogsphere I knew I needed it. I depise taking my nail polish off and this seemed like the perfect solution.

You insert your finger into the hole which is in the centre, twist and remove your finger...and as if by magic you nail polish is gone!!

This as a fruity aroma but you can still smell the slight solvent scent. But your nail and the skin around it looks and feels much better after using this compared to normal remover.

This retails at £4.99 which is quite steep but I love the convenience of the product. It's so quick and easy!

What do you think? I love the concept but not the price. But keep your eyes peeled this week as I have discovered a bargain dupe!

Thanks

L'Occitane Hydration Face Mist

Today's post is on L'Occitane Hydration Face Mist from the Angelica range. Here is what L'Occitane say about the range,

'During the Middle Ages in France, angelica was used for its excellent medical properties and as a herb. It was recommended for the overworked or convalescing. Angelica essential oil has hydrating and toning properties, which helps restore one's beauty.'

I don't own any face mists and have to say I have never really tried one either. The concept appeals to me especially as I am not great in hot weather. Both myself and L get hot and bothered really quickly. But I had never really fancied spraying it over my makeup.

L'Occitane says,
'The Angelica Hydration Face Mist instantly refreshes and hydrates the skin at any moment of the day: in the city, on an airplane, at the beach, or after exercising. This mist can be used after the Angelica Cleansing Gel to complete your daily cleansing routine. The Angelica Hydration Face Mist can also be applied to achieve a long-lasting make-up finish. '

The mist is extremely refreshing when you spray it (though I jump everytime I spray it on my face!). I can see this would be great on holiday when you were sight seeing or on the beach to cool you down. The mist also has a lovely refreshing scent which helps pick you up as well. But it's a very delicate scent!

I have to say though I still wouldn't want to use this if I had a full face of makeup on, it seems a bit odd. Though it doesn't affect your makeup when you spray it on I just find the experience odd, and I know lots of you are fans of using face mists after applying your makeup.

This will be joining me on my holiday this year as my skin loves the refreshing feel after I have had a spritz in the heat!

Are you a face mist fan? What's your trick for a hot day?

Thanks

17 Peep Show Mascara

"Where'd ya get those peepers? Flash your lashes with our fibre-rich formulation which lenghtens your lashes from root to tip. Voluptuous volume and no clumps....just a full flirty flutter"
Anybody else think of Jeepers Creepers??? haha

Anyway have to admit I love 17 Mascara's and the new peepshow is no exception. First off the packaging is nice and cute (although a little cheap) and I love the brush, despite forgetting to take a photo of it!  It's a fat brush that's slightly curve it the middle which is perfect to ensure you get all your lashes.

I picked this up in Brown/Black as I have very white lashes and I find that 17 Mascara are not quite as dark in the Brown/black shades so work out perfectly. Obviously this may vary for some however on my white lashes it seems to be just right.

Right so I only apply to my top lashes as I tend to look a little weird if I apply so my bottom lashes as well and as you can see my lashes are almost invisible!

It applies easily and so far I haven't found that it really clumps.  Now 17 have stated that it include lengthening fibres and I would say my lashes look long but they're quite long anyway so I'm not really convinced but I like it despite this.

So far it's my favourite Mascara- colour, consistency and brush all fit the bill!

Topshop Blushers

Flush

Now this is a gorgeous bright pink that once blended really does leave you with a natural flushed look. I absolutely love it. Also it blends in easily - I use an ELF Stippling brush and I'm more than happy with the end result.

This is without doubt my favourite blusher at the moment.

Head Over Heals

I love the peachy colour of this, which was the main reason I picked it up. Also I love a cream blusher in the summer (although we're not really having one at the moment).

It's a gorgeous peachy/coral shade that looks quite vibrant but once blended in you achieve a lovely natural peachy look. Don't get me wrong I found these to be highly pigmented but a little goes a long way.

I was a little concerned that this wouldn't be quite right on with my skin-tone and feckless however I love the end result.

I think I can honestly say that the Topshop makeup range is one of my favourite on the high street. There's a great selection and the products are so pigmented and affordable. I just love it.
